A-7K Incorrect weaponry

Opinions?
Just submit a bug report.

Plan on it, just want to make sure there isnt a more modern unclassified document someone has saying the other thing first.

AIM-9L captive trainer missile equipped.

Older manuals can miss things as well.

A-7E Corsair II should honestly get the AIM-9L too since it’s going back to 10.7 BR apparently. (even though it was just recently moved back to 10.3 lol).

It would need the ability to self laze, and there is no pod listed so it cannot use them.

Anything about Walleyes, GBU-15’s, or later versions of the Maverick?

Is the LANA pod not a laser designator?

Its just a FLIR pod for spotting targets

I am searching currently and found that a document lists the PAVE Penny pod may have been used on the A7.

I found a document that lists this pod under the nose as the Pave Penny pod

AIM-9Ls would make A-7E go to 11.3.

The first noted use of these were on the post Vietnam war A7Ds’

Pave Penny is a laser spot tracker, not a laser designator.
It picks up where someone else is illuminating a target with a laser, and gives an indication in the pilot’s HUD so that they can steer the aircraft towards that target.

Pave penny it isn’t laser designator, it spot tracker to see external designation.

A-7E is also in dire need of getting 4x AIM-9s like it should have

Curious how such a large amount of US aircraft are just missing their AIM-9 carrying capability: F-104C, A-4E, FJ-4B, AV-8B, all of them missing 2 more AIM-9s

I haven’t a manual (I’ll try to find one though) but here’s a pic of it carrying some.

AFAIK the mavs used similar or same pylons as the AGM62s

Which is fine since all the new top-tier aircraft now are going to be 13.0+ BR minimum.
(Not like the A-7K with only 2 x AIM-9Ls on a subsonic shit brick-turning attacker was ever 10.7 BR material enough to begin with…)
