ahhh the a-6 is such a blast to fly in sim, sadly it is so neglected and unfinished I hope it gets everything its missing asap! Ridiculous they release something like this which we pay so much for and its not even nearly done, the missing drop tanks is wild lol. That’s like bare minimum.

But I just know that A-6E SWIP launched AGM-84 Harpoon
For all of these. This is the A-6E flight manual and weapon codes. If its in the manual then the A-6E was able to carry them. I don’t know for sure about the TRAM using all of them but it shows the airframe used them.

the A-6E TRAM requires to be updated to the WCSI (Weapon system Computer Integratiopn) standart to be able to make full use of harpoon
yes, base TRAM models can use harpoons, but that is highly limited in how the planes can use them (most of the programming that you can give Harpoon would not be aviable)

the order of upgrades is A-6E > TRAM > WCSI > SWIP
WCSI added the new board computer and electronics (such as the Integrated missile panel), SWIP was a software update to allow for more weapons to be mounted.

When they add the SWIP, it should get the walleye. The TRAM cant use them.

I feel like if Gaijin really wants an Intruder that’ll be high enough in Br to compete against more advanced aircraft, just add the A-6F Intruder II. A-6E SWIP can stay a bit lower with just 9Ls (but also Mavs, Walleyes, and whatever else they need to add).
The A-6F was cancelled though, while the A-6E SWIP has been in service
It still flew. Gaijin isn’t beyond adding prototypes in-game, especially to the TT (see the Yak-141)

AJ wasn’t even a prototype, just a pamphlet-based concept that the JASDF rejected.
The YF16 flown was just coloured differently. But we are arguing even though we should agree
