Yes I know, but wouldn’t it be nice to also celebrate today’s achievements?
It hasn’t even happened yet. By definition, it cannot be an anniversary. Wait until next year
I still don’t really understand how decisions like the date of Easter are accepted. Orthodox Christians celebrate it on April 12, while much of the rest of Europe celebrates on April 5. If there isn’t agreement, maybe there could be a way to find a more unified or shared date instead of having such a big difference.
Sometimes it feels like traditions develop separately rather than aiming for a common balance that works for everyone. But here we go…
Nothing to celebrate Artemis, but here’s an old soviet toaster!

Son, he never said anything regarding anniversaries but the fact we should celebrate a huge feat for mankind? And you know what, he’s entirely correct as well. For todays age, that is significantly more relevant than when we first went into space, the USSR already gets a ton of events in-game.
This should be the United States spotlight right now with Artemis II but no, the USSR doesn’t get enough events ig

He was replying to my comment about anniversaries. Pls read before writing
LOL you want to remove the anniversary of a major milestone in human history to celebrate some USA publicity stunt?
Was anything said about removing? I thought it was just a proposition for rewards linking the anniversary to current events. at least that was what my comment was about.
Sounds like “don’t pay attention to the milestone in human history and pay attention to what USA is doing” to me…
List of Space achievements:
USSR:
First woman in space
First satellite
First animal in space (which burned to death in the vacuum of space)
First space walk
First moon rover
USA:
First to orbit the moon
First human on the mood
First to take rocks from the moon
First reusable space rockets
First man made object to go to interstellar space (Voyager 1)
Hubble telescope
Building the space station
The first solar probe
Oh and landing boosters on a small metal tooth pick in the ocean.
and that means USA needs a decal for the “first man in space” because? Should Russia get a decal for the first moon landing?
Nope, but if your gonna make a whole event for space i think leaving NASA out of it is a little uncanny.
It’s a commemoration of a historical mile stone, and the post I was replying to was insisting we should forget it to celebrate the USA repeating something the did over 50 years ago, should we replace Sputnik with what ever the latest satellite launch is? I suppose we could give the NASA astronaut a “second place” flag, but I suspect people would just get mader.
Artemis didnt something different than the last flights NASA SVS | Artemis II mission trajectory
“second place”

“Look guys we can hit the moon with a rocket but, dont worry we cant feed our people but trust it’ll be okay.”

i knew this would be the space race debate the moment i opened this thread
You should clarify because first space station is Salyut-1.
