New role as mobile barrage

The exact difference in mobility and speed i am not so sure of, i am trying to find that out but i belive, due to the different transmission and a more powerful eigne, should have slightly better performance, and mabye speed

These wehicles recieved this configuration, mostlye because of various eignes/transmissions being tested, for use in the other NM116 or remaining M24 chaffes before they settled with the Detroit eignes.

HISTORY (both verisons of the M24)
This vehicle was developed as a replacement for the earlier American light tanks. Development of the wagon began in April 1943, serial production began in March 1944 and until production stopped in 1945, a total of 4,415 were built. The wagon entered service late in 1944 and then participated in both Europe and Asia until the end of the war. 1 1950 it returned to active service in the Korean War. France used the wagon to a large extent in Vietnam. During the Vietnam War, the wagon was used by both North and South Vietnam.

Norwegian usage:
The first wagons of this type came to Norway with the Americans
in 1945. When they withdrew. we took over these wagons. They then formed the backbone of our tank squadrons until the M48 came along in the 1960s. We have had a total of 141 wagons in Norway. They served in the reconnaissance squadrons until 1970, after which they were phased out of the cavalry. Most were converted to NM116. Of those that were not rebuilt, some ended up on firing ranges as targets, some were sold as scrap, while some came into service in the HV and were used here until 1991/92.

Which tech tree would you suggest it go under? i know France is getting the whole benelux treatment, but i think it would be cool to go to sweden. I would love an m24 to go with my t34, pz4 and sherman!

There are many options, but if it were going to the Swed/Fin tree it would be an decent TT vehicle/bp vehicle maybe, better performance :D

I’m actually a big fan of the mopar engines, and i love them 440 RBs.
The HP output varies from year to year, from 225hp to the 390 horsepower and 490 pound-feet of torque in the 440 Six Pack. This model seems to have the thermoquad carb, and depending on the parts used in the rebuild, the hp seems to be in around 320-360 crank hp. It produced 480 pound-feet of torque at 2,800 rpm, with numbers not changing much over the years. On the sources used, they said it was a 1978 model engine, which had the highest mopar 440 engine output available without sports edition, coming most likely from a cargo vehicle.
Regarding the A727 Torqueflite 8, the change from 8 speeds forward, 4 reverse; to 3 forward and 1 reverse will make the vehicle a bit clunkier, and take longer to reach the power band, but it shouldnt change much.

however; since the m24 came with 2 engines, now installing a single engine which made up about the entire performance of the two coupled cadillac engines, the weight will be reduced by about 700 pounds, and the aluminum case automatic transmission would probably also reduce weight by another 50-100 pounds, and everything else needed to make it work would probably weight less

Would go under Sweden.

Here are the guys restoring the vehicle :D

It would be cool as a tech tree or a premuim. Much like the french amx13-m24. It is faster going forwards but a worse reverse speed. I think maybe this one could be a premuim and so not to bumb the br up due to its increased mobility it could maybe loose the .50cal on the roof?

Do you have any images of it with a .50cal?

You sir are a certified petrol head

Yes youre right, i comepletely forgot about the norwegian leopard 1a5 already under the swedish tree

Vidar as well

How could i forget that thing… was a menace when it was new and spammed.

Id also like the, 90mm armed chaffee. I believe its norwegian . It would fit perfectly between the 6.7 bmp1 and the ikv91. Something like 7.0-7.3 as thats where alot of early cold war 90mm armed tanks are.
