I just discovered 3BM42-2 was never adopted by the Russian military and was offered at a 2019 expo as a round to replace 3BM42, but most of the Russain militarys T-series tanks autoloaders cant use it so they never adopted it or bought it.
They added another round for Russia even though it was never adopted or used.
The complaints in this thread are the biggest nothing burger ever. Like wow the USSR got a stock shell at rank 8 that puts it roughly in line with most of the stock shells of other nations at rank 8, there is so much bias here clearly…
I think its mostly due to the fact that Russias stock round can penatrate more than 30% of most mbts frontal armor. Meanwhile Nato can barely scratch most of the front of Russian mbts
Wtf are you talking about? It uses same “casing” as mango, so it will fit on soviet autoloaders, and reason it was made , was to make new “standard” round for T80’s and T90’s
Since 3BM60 got that problem for being so long projectile it cant be loaded side by side on carousel.
Its significantly longer than Mango, and 3BM60. Most of the older t80s/90s cannot use them. Only the newer T80s aka BVMs and T90Ms can use them. Man you dont do any research huh
No 3BM42-2 is in total length longer than 3BM42M. It was designed off it, and is an experimental round that has yet to be adopted or even produced in “battlefield quantities” hasnt even been used outside training.
well somehow total lenght of 685 ( including casing) is longer vs 735 including casing on 3bm60…
Or maybe he just cant admit he was confusing 3bm42m and 3bm42-2
Either way it isnt even adopted in production and probably wont be until after the 2 day military operation is over. I do see it isnt longer but if thats the case they need to add other expermintal rounds to Leopards like eKE and Japans ability to use proxy He rounds
Then Gaijin will add the T-14 as a “response.” You can clearly see that every time the US, Germany, or any other nation gets an upgrade, the USSR gets twice as much in return.
