The title says it all. Relative to br which one is better
90105
CV 90105. No debate, hands down. I have both, hundreds of games in both. Both Ace crewed. The CV 90105 is possibly the best light tank in the game, not just for its BR. The only real “downside” to it is that it cannot lock onto air targets (no IRST). But the 2S25M doesn’t have that either.
One of the biggest differences too is gun depression: the CV 90105 is -10 degrees. And coupled with its amazing commander view+thermals, it is so so easy to drive over the tops of most hills and fire down on enemies.
Now, while the CV’s dart is not as good as the 2S25M’s, the CV does have very good tandem charged missiles which is what I typically use unless super long range. The 2S25M does have tandem missiles too (which are higher pen, to be fair). (Note, the 2S25M has the same exact shells as the T-80 BVM.)
Then to top it all off the CV is premium. I love using premium vehicles to build up more SL’s to then burn on crate events.
If you have any more specific questions or comments that you would like my opinion on, please feel free to ask. I adore light tanks, and love both of these 🙂
EDIT: going to add differences I forgot to mention here, I just looked at the wiki.
CV has Laser Warning System
I dont get why I would need irst for a tank that doesn’t have a proxy fuse shell. Also Due to the country I live in I cant really afford the cv90. Is the 2s a good substitute for it ? I am looking for a light tank that plays like the cv90105 or the ikv91 105 thanks :)
Oh for sure it doesn’t NEED it, I just LOOOOVE light tanks with IRST, like the 2S38 and BMD-4/BMD-4M etc.
I see, the summer/anniversary sale will be coming up here in a couple/few months, the CV almost always goes on sale.
So, it is not as good as the CV, HOWEVER, like I mentioned the 2S25M has the same exact shells as the T-80 BVM. So you get full top tier/top BR ammo, at 10.0 BR. Very very nice. The tandem charged missiles will melt anything even in a full uptier. (Though the darts usually do the job just fine lol). I take some of both.
This is the ammo loadout I typically use with the 2S25M, no point in using anything but the darts or missiles, imo. Only big note is do NOT use more than 23 shells total, because that is the capacity of the autoloader+1 in the gun. If you take ONE more shell, it gets placed very high up in the hull and you will be much more vulnerable. You can adjust how many darts vs missiles you take, sometimes I will take 10 darts and 13 missiles, w/e you like. Just do not go over 23 total.
Thanks for your help. I love how enthusiastic you are with this :)
OH forgot too, 2S25M is amphibious, and has hydro pneumatic suspension! You can lower/raise the suspension. You might have to setup keybinds for that if you have not done it before, let me know if you need help with that.
I already have suspension keybinds since i play the 103 a lot.
damn this picture is really old. I remeber when bmd4 terorised 8.0 with the downtiers
I’m getting to the CV90s soon. I hope those will satiate my hunger for light tanks
I also love all the Swedish light tanks =D What BR are you aiming for? There is one or two of the Swede ones that are worth passing to get the next higher/better ones. I don’t think any of them are bad, just a bit “too many” of them xD
This is my 10.3 GRB lineup for Sweden:
(Ignore the plane xD I’m working on it)
9040C AMAZING
9040 BILL AWESOME, I love overhead rockets.
And both with prox fused shells, awesome.
Lvkv 9040C AWESOME too. Plays more like a light tank than a SPAA, but I love that. Also has 5 crew so more survivable, sometimes.
When I started this game I was hoping to play 8.7 sweden as I heard it was strong and I like the battle rating range of 8.7 where you don’t really see a lot of cas and the downtiers are nice. I had a lot of fun with the ikv91 105 back it was 8.7 and I was grinding the t55m which I heard was the stronger tank of the lineup and the bR. But to my amazing luck they moved the entire 8.7 sweden up to 9.0 a WEEK before I got the t55m. Now am planning to grind to 11.7 to get the cv90120. And then I will probably grind ussr to grind the t64 series which are really cool looking
why do you have a rserve plane and the first heli in your lineup :o
Eh, while that one is good, imo, the 10.3 range is going to be more fun than going max BR with Sweden. Def grind up, but 10.3 is a very very nice range imo. Because it is right at the cuttoff where you will not get up into 11.7 matches.
Working on it xD I do that so I do not put any tanks in those slots and mess up my crew points. (I already have some air points in those, so I dont put a tank in and grind the wrong crew points)
EDIT: OH I did just grind out the right heli for that lineup:
Sprut has a double whammy of having bad depression on top of having a higher profile than T series so its even worse, and the armor is paper thin. The one at 9.3 is a lot better than the one at 10.0 for what it faces.
It basically plays like a stryker MGS but with a manned turret so its a whole let less survivable.
If i had the money I would have a lineup of cv90120,9040c,9040 aa and 9040 bill. I would also would take the 105 to 10.7
It has hydro suspension though!
Default stance:
Down:
Meh, it has literally the same rounds as the T-80 BVM. If you have an issue getting kills in the 2S25M, then you are not playing it like a light tank 😉 There are no light tanks that survive like a MBT lol.
ALSO, the 2S25 doesn’t have thermals, for gunner OR commander. The 2S25M has superb thermals for both. Much better for GRB.

2S25M has Gen 3 therms for both gun and cmd:
