HISTORY
Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace is the world leading supplier of remote stations, and they have been working on these and developing them since around 2001, they have also attended the AUSA - “Association of the United States Army” in a number of years. I have been searching around and studied each event, as this is an annual event each year in October, this is to my knowledge the only Flyer 72 equipped the RS6 that has the 30x113mm cannon integrated, and was firstly seen in 2021 at the AUSA event in October that year. Kongsberg had this in addition to a couple other vehicles with different combinations exhibition in their booth, and prior to this event Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace had held a demonstration which lasted over a couple days 14-15th July, where four different vehicles and combinations was used to demonstrate its potential.
The weapon station is the Kongsberg Remote Station RS6, which has the M230LF cannon integrated and with an coaxial 7.62mm FN MAG machinegun, and additional armament is the 127mm Javelin launcher mounted on the outer right side of the station. I have at later AUSA events seen this Flyer 72 vehicle with other configurations, such as a .50 cal machinegun. In the rear compartment of this vehicle, it should be able to carry additional Javelin missiles, so this can potentially be reloaded, i have counted 6x in a storage box specifically made for these, but i haven’t seen the rear of this specific vehicle.
The vehicle is an Flyer 72 Heavy Duty Lightweight Ground Mobility vehicle, which is designed and developed by General Dynamics ordnance and tactical systems in cooperation with Flyer Defence. It was approved for production in 2013 and intended to serve special operations forces on various missions, with its durability and protection.
IN GAME
This could as well be an interesting vehicle, that could serve as a light tank in the game, with its ability to fight heavier armored vehicles, especially if its ability to reload the javelin launcher is true. Not only can it attack lightly armored enemy vehicles with its 30mm cannon, but it can also fight lower flying aircrafts, helicopters and scout drones, the cannon can be prepared to fire airburst ammo too. If it can carry additional missiles, it could have a playstyle similar to ATGM launchers, except it has the ability for close range combat as well with the cannon.
