HISTORY
Hägglunds Bandvagn 206 is a vehicle developed and manufactured in Sweden, it was constructed by the company Hägglunds and the first variants came in the early 1970s. This vehicle then consists of two parts, a driver’s car and a rear car where you can either have soldiers or weapons, depending on the need, but in the original package they came for troop transport. the wagon is hydraulically steered, and there is operation on all 4 belts on the wagon, there is also the possibility of low series. The cart can also float and drive in water, but then a few preparations are required. With all this, the pram has an incredibly good five-way ability in all terrains, both water, mud and snow, as it is small, light and flexible.

In Norway, the BV 206 has been in use since the early 1980s as a successor to the aging Volvo BV202. The BV 206 wagon was upgraded in Norwegian service a number of times, with a number of variants. In 1988, the provisional last edition came with a 6-cylinder Mercedes turbodiesel engine, and this had an effect of 136 horsepower like the petrol variant, but was still as economical in use and had the same range as the 5-cylinder engine. These were modified and found in a number of variants, both for mortars, radars, transport of equipment and other things.

In June 2023 people from around 33 countries visited Raufoss, Norway to watch the Norwegian ammunitions manufacturer Nammo do some testing’s and demonstration with various ammunition at their own shooting/testing range. As you can see in the image, they did demonstrate some ammunition trough an CV9030N Mk.III and a Finnish mortar carrier with a Protector RWS attached, which had been transported here in regards of some new mortar rounds. But the most interesting part of all this was the Norwegian BV206 you can see on the far right side in the image, equipped with a 25mm Bushmaster I cannon!

This specific BV206 looks like it is highly likely an BV 206 DN6 “Mellomramme” wich was a modification to the BV206 to allow it to carry a container on the rear carriage for ammunition, weapons or other equipment for troops, maybe even food. That then has been modified with the supporting paws and the steps on its right side. It’s designed for testing the cannon and ammunition, but it is able to, from my understanding to adjust elevation and traverse by some degrees. not too much is known about how it works but it doesn’t look like it is able to be turned too far.

IN GAME
Although this would be mostly for memes, it could potentially be really fun to play! with extremely good mobility and flexibility to drive over and rough rubble, stones and water (its amphibious), and a wide variety of ammunition available, it could potentially do really good, even with its large downside of limited gun mobility and having to reverse or turn around when facin enemies. But hey, what is life without memes?!
