DO NOT BUY EITHER OF THESE 😭
They suck
They don’t suck but oke.
2 magic 1s are pretty much guaranteed kills, OES is a very solid tank overall and quite appreciated by a decent amount of people that I know have tried it.
Yeah but even with a good tank, if a player is new to the game like he is then he’s probably gonna struggle at tiers he doesn’t know
How do you come upon 13500 when starting the game and not know what to do with it?
I’ll work on my previous argument in a way that can be more understandable to a player without any experience in war thunder. (Keep in mind this is purely my opinion, others may differ from my perspective.)
We need to take into consideration your end goals which we don’t know yet. What vehicles are you looking forward to play? How much experience do you have with the game? Are you interested in ground, air, or a mix of both?
Generally speaking, the best 3 uses for golden eagles should be by this order:
-
Premium time
-
Premium vehicle
-
Talismans
Premium Time:
Premium time is probably the best purchase you can make with Golden Eagles. It boosts your progress by awarding you extra research points and silver lions after each battle. This will save you a lot of the grinding, especially at the lower tiers. This bonus is active for all of the tech trees you play, so you don’t need to worry about playing just a specific nation.
Premium Vehicle:
Premium vehicles have their own % of extra research points and silver lions. You can see those by checking a vehicle’s stat card in game. However, those bonuses you receive are only valid for the nation that vehicle belongs to. You can’t buy a chinese premium vehicle and expect it to help with grinding the british tech tree and the other way around. The bonus % of a premium vehicle will stack with the bonus % of premium time if you own both, resulting in more research and silver lions for you. Premium vehicles will give you said research bonus from rank I to a rank above to what it belongs. So if you own a rank IV premium, your bonus research will be available from rank I to V.
Talismans:
A talisman will give bonus % research points to any vehicle you own. Those are permanent and are only valid for that specific vehicle. You can talisman any vehicle of your choosing to make easier the grind as an alternative for a premium vehicle, however, a talisman will not provide you with the bonus silver lions, only the research points. Keep in mind because its not a premium vehicle, you will have a research penalty if you play more than a tier below your rating, or more than a tier above your rating. What that means is that if your vehicle with a talisman is TIER IV, you will be fine playing in TIER III, IV and V. But not on II, and VI, etc.
There’s a lot of reasons as to why I suggested the Khalid and the T-69II G, but the most obvious are if you have no experience those can be more friendly than jumping into the upper ratings. I would say that 9.0 and 9.3 are already high ratings but a bit slower in pace giving you time to learn and master the environment because its a different pace of what the low and mid ratings are and you don’t rely much on armor anymore. Most vehicles will be using the dart (APFSDS) and that usually goes from a one to two shot kill, rather than the regular “find the weakspot” which is commonly seen in the lower ratings. It still happens in the higher tiers, just not as often.
Another reason would be… because they both sit at 9.0 and 9.3 it means you unlock other vehicles of the same rating way faster than a top tier vehicle for instance. The time that it would take you to get a tech tree vehicle of let’s say 11.7, with a 9.0 or 9.3 premium you will likely have 2 extra if not 3 tech tree variants minimum of that same rating in shorter times.
And in the end, they’re fun :)
(I hope this helps, if this was still confusing, let me know.)
Hopefully, I didn’t mess up any details (could happen).
A-5C at 10.7 is kinda overtiered, you compete with stuff like F-5C and J-7D (albeit those are insane planes)
OES is absolutely garbage. Ask literally anyone competent.
OES is not garbage. I play GRB and I’ve recently got it and played it. You basically have it all, you only lack good mobility. The tank is good and you’re just making it much worse than it actually is.
The A-5C is quite new-player friendly as it can bomb (offers passive gameplay that let’s a new player get some points even if they don’t know how to play) and has magic 1s to teach quite well how to use IR missiles.
Also, you gotta consider that this fella is asking for GE premiums. If we are to compare these premiums to the available options for actual money or GJN coins, then ofc the J-7D is a much stronger option.
If this player were to buy lower tiered GE premiums for these two nations, then I would just advise to go for something different such as the 2S38 in the USSR TT. I don’t see the point in getting a premium if you’ll eventually stop using it when the TT gets the hardest to farm. Once again the subjective side of the player kicks in. If his objective is to get to top tier as fast as possible, 11.7 is the way since it also teaches him how to play against the threats at that BR. If his objective is to reach early-modern designs and enjoy the linear upgrades that you experience from 9.3 to 12.0 (and higher now), then 9.3 is absolutely the right option.
The OES is fine will be even better next update
It’s objectively not. It lacks armor, gun-handling, sustained rate of fire, reaction times, etc.
On top of this you are insanely slow.
It is bad.
Fair.
Bad advice. 2S38 is not good, it’s a fodder vehicle. The UD is a better choice and even then the RU tree is not worth investing in after 9.7.
Lmao.
T-80UD being a good tank doesn’t mean the 2S38 isn’t a good option. Both are very good options.
I do however admit that as a grind option the UD would be better since it’s an easier gameplay. Having both would be perfect.
I won’t be discussing this any further as it’s clear that it is a one way conversation and I don’t need to lose time over common knowledge. The player shall choose whatever seems more fitting, we’ve already given plenty of options and feedback on it.
Reaction time is all on you mate just get better
Armour hull down is fine so get better positioning and yes it is slow but not insanely slow
A fodder vehicle that has rapid fire cannon that can disable most tanks at its br with HE shells that destroy helis and planes at that BR with ease
It is only fodder as you try to play the 2S38 like a tank instead of a light tank /SPAA
Spoiler

Happy?

It lacks gun handling.
It has a massive breach and shooting the sight will take out comm/gunner, so no.
It’s not even worth arguing with someone like this.
@FlipAllTheTables The abbreviated word that I’ve used has already been deemed ok and within the guidelines as long as it is kept in its abbreviated form. Instead, the other version with an “F” in it is considered to be against the guidelines.
This has already been brought up back when a user used this abbreviation and it was incorrectly flagged.
I would ask to refrain from trying to do our job and keeping it within topic.

A major part of my comment was on topic though.
Unfortunately since it was completely deleted (not even hidden so I can’t edit it), that entire part is lost.
Edit: as other people have pointed out one of the best ways for you to use GE to actively progress faster is simply buying premium time. Premium time works for all ranks and BRs, and for all nations, while premium vehicles themselves are significantly more limited.
The one advantage a premium vehicle does provide is that it is permanent, while premium time will run out. So it does depend a bit on how much you’re going to be playing the game. I can’t help much with choosing premium vehicles though, the ones I do buy tend to be for collection purposes (and only with GJN obtained from grinding events).
Even then you should try to buy premium vehicles only when they are on sale which comes at predetermined times.
I’ll PM that to you so that you can repost it.
Totally agree here btw. I’ve missed this entirely as a possible way to spend GE and it’s probably the smartest one out of all of them.
Just sayjng, premium time is kinda a bad idea unless youre planning on playing 2+ hours every day, otherwise you’ll waste most of it. I would recommend going with a fun premium vehicle (Ki-87, Ki-100-ii for examples) instead, or even multiple. Do not be set on grinding and dont buy your way to top tier
its 40 bucks for an entire year, the value is incredible with it
literally 2x rp gain, honestly playing wt without premium time is like playing a demo version of the game
I dunno, that’s like $80 for me, and it’s a lot considering a lot of people actually have lives outside of this game. If you play for two days a week for 7 days a week, four hours worth, you’re getting one days worth of premium time per week, at the end of a year, you will have used up 365 days of premium time… and gotten 52 days out of it. That’s over a dollar per day. It is absolutely not worth it unless you play all day every day
