International Tank Tech Tree-Let's Build It

Hello All,

Taking inspiration from QuarterNinja's amazing International Aircraft Tree, I have started a list of Internationally Built and.or modified tanks from the 30's to 1953. I am hoping that we, as an international community, can sort this list into a manageable tree with eras and battle ratings. My ultimate goal is to find someone to Photoshop this into a suggestion for the suggestion forum.

To QuaterNinja, if I am stepping on your toes, forgive me and I shall request a deletion of this post. However, I feel that I have made a good deal of groundwork for this project. If you request control at any time, please PM me.

I request to the community to help me research more tanks, AAA and armored cars. This is BY NO MEANS a complete list and i would love to receive any support I could from any interested parties, including by by no leans limiting to help from the folks over in the general aircraft department.

NOTE: France. It is my hope that France can furnish it's own tree, as said by Gaijin
NOTE: Italy It is my hope that Italy can also furnish it's own tree, as said by Gaijin
NOTE: Australian and Canadian tanks are being added to the Ultimate British tree, I am involved as their Canadian Specialist. Therefor, I have not included those tanks here, though I could on request.
NOTE: As these are minor nations, I have included prototypes. I like to support the small ones this way. They may have had great ideas, but they were simply outmatched by industrial might.

Please, send in ideas and links to armored cars, tanks or other vehicles that should be included that are not thus far.

Preliminary Tree  VERSION 4.5 is as follows. This is a good technological representation of the trees, following a path competitive with tanks in the game trees. Eras are made.

You will notice a lack of era 5 is a problem. We are looking for more vehicles for era 5.

White: Reserve

Yellow: Era 1

Green: Era 2

Blue: Era 3

Purple: Era 4

Dark Green: Era 5

Dotted line denotes that they share the same box (opens when clicked) in the tech tree.

There cant be international tree in WT!

What side in RB they will be on???

Cant really see pure italian/french Airforce, GF, Navy tree without large use of "paper" vehicles with no real stats available.

Not even the Wargaming found enough prototypes to fill Italian tree yet.

My friend, please read these.

As you can see, all three have more than enough. RB can be decided by the devs.

France had a good navy before Germany came along and they had to destroy all their ships and/or give them to the British.

RB can be decided by the devs.

How?

Hungary & Romania is clear but rest?

Some of those nations were neutral, not involved in WWII

France had a good navy before Germany came along and they had to destroy all their ships and/or give them to the British.

Pre-war, but you have to fill tech to 1953 & maybe further in future

Some Yugoslavian tanks that were used in WW2:

French SOMUA S35 Medium Tank

One, possibly two, of these vehicles were captured by partisans from the Germans. The vehicle had it's turret removed and a British 6pdr gun installed.

Yug-Somua-PeteLago.jpg

The American M3A1 and A3 Stuart

Once Yugoslavia fell to the Germans, partisan units were formed. Using captured equipment, they formed the 1st Tank Brigade in July 1944. 75 American M3A1 - A3 Stuart light tanks were supplied by the British.

The Yugoslav 1st tank brigade was organized near Bari, on the Adriatic coast, and equipped with the M3A3 and a handful of the older M3A1 version of the Stuart family. A total of 56 tanks and 9 AEC armored cars were delivered by the Allies to the town of Dubrovnik, and supported the Yugoslav 4th Army. In November 1944, the unit captured the town of Sibenik, and found a variety of German equipment, still in working order. This included, a German 7.5 cm Pak 40 anti tank gun, some Renault UE carriers and some 2 cm quadruple flak guns. A brigade mechanic named Vlajko suggested that they use the captured weapons to upgrade the Stuarts. The upgrades simply removed the turrets and added supports for the guns as well as some armor to protect the crew. The tank destroyer version with the Pak 40 lasted throughout the campaign and were encountered by New Zealand troops in the contested city of Trieste at the end of the war.

"About the M3A3 with an Pak50 75mm gun, Bow MG was removed, ammo storage was ~25 rounds, side armor around gun was made from destroyed SdKfz-251. Total of 5 were converted and 3 were still operational in 1949. Other interesting conversions of 1st Tank Brigade included:
- M3A3 with quad 20mm Flak-38V (four converted)
- M3A1 with 81mm mortar (two converted)
- M3A3 with 150mm sIG33 (one, destroyed in first action)"

I recommend you add M-06 as that was the main 2nd production version.

All I had found were the M-00 to M-06 prototypes. Was there a production version?

M-05 was the prototype of the production version. They produced like 10 of them from M-05 in the first production batch but when Romania changed sides they where taken by the USSR. The M-06 was meant to be the model for 2nd production batch.batch.

if you feel better: the Italian Airforce fan Made by the Italian forum have 84 plane, no paper plane, all flow and see combat. Same for the France, the boys of the indipendent France Trees find some intresting plane, not many as the Italy but a Good number. For the tank...patience, Italy have the semovente (self-propelled gun, a Good tank destroyer and arty), and we don't won't prototipe. For the France I don't know. For the fleet...Well, i think the 2º and the 4º war fleet (pre-war, but don't mind, Who play fleet after war? Only USA) don't need prototipe.

I'll try to get some info together on the Hungarian parts.

Also, what does S stand for? I understand P stand for premium?

S=Service
P=Prototype, may not be included, only if nessesary
HB-P Only one such in tree. Half built prototype with planned production run. Destroyed in a bombing raid.

I am unsure about premiums. It's a waiting game for now of collection vehicles. I see eventually this tree shaping up to be:
EITHER one line per nation
OR
One armored car line
One light tank line
One light-medium line
One heavy-medium line
One close support (Howitser TD) line
One tank destroyer line
One AAA line.

Ah, I see.

One thing: the Tas series are from '44 not '43. Their mark number gives them away, as the hungarian nomenclature of the time was using the year of first run as designator, hence Turán series from 40M to 42M. The original (first series) of Nimróds went into service in 1940, hence her 40M designation.

More to come later.
