The RWR sensitivity is too high.

I'm pretty sure everyone had experienced at least once being locked on by a cocky player the entire game.

But perhaps it isn't because someone has his eye locked on to you, but rather there is a J-7E or Su-22 flying around.

They probably overdid it on the recent RWR tweaks. Or it's not a bug but a feature.....a very annoying feature to make you less sensitive to the beeps so when an enemy locks on to you, you don't realise and get whacked.

NATO RWR can discern between friendly and foreign radar signal.

I think muting friendly radar pings and locks would GREATLY improve the gameplay experience.

On top of that I am fairly certain that NATO RWR is able to even recognize the type of the aircraft depending on the band of the radar and if a missile has been launched.

So Gaijin, pls?

Yeah that sounds about right.
I might be wrong, but even seen an approximate range on some RWR's I think. Not sure how they achieve this or if it's just something done to reduce clutter on the display because showing types instead of lines gets kinda cluttered.
Either way, the RWR needs to be improved further!

This is a unique feature of the Russian RWR. It shows the signal strenght relative to the aircraft. The stronger the signal, the closer the radar emitter is. From this you can figure out if you are outrunning FOX3 or if you are soon to be turned into a mist of atoms.

If you switch to a cockpit to let's say Mig-29, you can see the RWR bottom right IIRC and the yellow dots around the plane silouethe represent signal strenght. The Russian RWR inside cockpit are not working in the game though unfortunately.

Having multiple working RWR models in the game would be so so good.

Picrel is Russian RWR.

Ah yeah, known radar system + signal strength gives quite an easy calculation for that. Would love to see this in WT, especially sim. Very valuable info.
