Tayschrenn_Sedai 6 Report post Posted March 23 Friends, comrades, compatriots, I need your insight and expertise. My Great Grandfather was on the Nevada on December 7th. However, I have focused completely on the German Tech Tree, and am thus unprepared for this amazing Battleship. What is my best course of action for grinding? Naval is horrible, we all know this, but hopefully I can laser focus and burn through the ranks. In Germany, my Jaguar let me push through things, and once I bought the Prinz I was able to better get through the tech tree. What do you recommend I focus on in the US - are there really strong Premiums worth the investment? Thanks in advance - here's a photo from the other night where RedFoxImp and I basically single handed won a map, in large part due to his helping tow my PC-451 to A and B. (Side note: What is the actual point in depth charges and bomb rockets - the chance of actually hitting a ship is next to nothing)
[email protected] 100 Report post Posted March 23 There's no best way besides grinding just pick a couple of ships and used them to go down the TT be them TT (preferably with a talisman) or premiums, Premium times is also preferable as to help speed up the grind. With the US TT the have a decent 4.7/5.0 destroyer lineup just by premiums along with USS Wilkinson, USS Frank Knox, USS Moffet, USS Cowell (if it comes back), USS Davis & USS Phelps which can be found on the market (the latter might be expensive). Rank IV US also has extremely potent light cruisers so slapping a talisman on those can be a good idea, Similar they also get a good premium lineup with the USS Helena, USS Des Moines & if you wish and on market although you'll need talismans USS Baltimore & USS Newport News (The former could be expensive). If you purely want the USS Nevada try to minimize the grind by selecting the ships you'll grind for your lineups + the unlock requirements and go for that Dreadnought Battleship. Also for your question on depth charging. While their main use isn't a thing YET they can be absolutely nasty if you get within distance to use them as they can completely obliterate Dreadnoughts if you can get right up alongside them and that goes very well with small and fast MTB's like as example the Pr.183, Similar launchers/Mortars / racks / rockets. Launchers/ morters: like the Hedgehog naval mortar can be devastating in headon battle completely blanketing ships even ones over land masses that can sink any ship in a full salvo, Some K-guns/ say Limbo mortar alongside ships can yeet off several charges to some distance off to the side which is great for hitting passing ships. Racks: well stern/side racks can be used like with the MTB Pr.183 or Torpedo Boat Chidori if you get right alongside someone and just dump a ship tonne of explosives next to crippling or sinking ships (if extremely lucky you can it air bound threats with the explosions example an AShM LOL). Rockets: Depending on the ships they may have rocket asseted depth charges and work similar to like a Hedgehog in that it can be launched at some distance and cause catastrophic damage to any ship hit by their deadly salvos, Largest rockets in game are the 375 mm M/50 ASW Rocket found on the Köln class Frigate and probably the most deadly rocket system is the RBU-6000 which is found on many ships with 12 rockets per launcher and can be fired to 6.5km as example the Pr.1331M ASW Corvette. Drawbacks these are afterall explosives and depending on the vessels exposed to the elements so you can sometimes just blow up from a stray shell (barring the Pr.1331M since it gets inclosed stern racks). Hopefully that gives some inside on the glorious pass time of depth charging

I had not considered the 'getting close' as the subchasers are way too big to sneak up - I get destroyed easily - but the smaller boats might just have that luck. Are there any fan favorites on the Premiums? I've seen the Helena everywhere so I'm sure that's one, but any in the rank III really stand out? I've seen the Helena everywhere so I'm sure that's one, but any in the rank III really stand out? US destroyers and late cruisers are some of THE best ships in the game, especially the premiums. So basically all of them are fan favorites, and grinding through the tree should be a breeze for any already experienced naval player. For rank 3, Frank Knox is the best(despite the Moffett being more popular), due to the relatively low BR of 4.7 and not having easy to hit ammo racks. For rank 4, Helena is the best and most popular, as the market ships are rather expensive and don't always come with premium bonuses, and the Des Moines has a high BR as well as a vulnerable ammo rack. One thing you should consider when grinding the US bluewater tree is that the two Omaha class light cruisers and the trio of rank 4 heavy cruisers are rather poor vessels. It is best to skip them if you want to grind to top tier quickly. Use the destroyers, and then the Atlanta and the 6.0 cruisers instead. Also you might want to consider waiting for the May sales to buy any premiums. Edited March 24 by kkang2828
