Air Ai squadrons for naval RB

So if you´ve played naval battles and wanted to fly a plane to maybe sink some ships you have probably experienced getting instantly destroyed by ships AA before being able to get close (mainly at higher tiers of naval, mainly by bluewater ships at around 4.7 to 7.0 probably) and if you are in a ship you also probably barely ever see a plane, if so it probably dies instantly. Thats why I came with an idea to share, basically if you´ve played single missions or mission editors with planes, the you know that you usually spawn with 3 other Ai planes that are part of your squadron and you can change into whenever you want or when you die.

These Ai planes always follow your movement so I thought that in the case for naval battles, depending on the type of plane, you can spawn with a small saquadron of Ai planes that will follow you and will also target the ships you target in order for the ships AA to have a harder time getting a target and getting rid of a threat. But how many planes in the squadron will be a balance one? well this can be worked on by adding a specific amount of Ai planes to the squad depending on class and tier you´re playing (not based on the plane tier but the max tier of the ship you have on the lineup, this is so in case you spawn with a plane of 3.7 (like the B7A that I personally use on higher tiers) in something like 6.0 you can actually give some fight). In terms of numbers i´d say that this squadrons should start getting implemented from 4.7 and for classes i´d say fighters should get 1 plane (the player) from 4.7 to 5.0, 2 planes (1 player 1 Ai) from 5.3 to 6.0, 3 planes 6.3 to 7.0 (you get the idea I guess?). Naval bombers (I give the biggest emphasis to this class as it is the one desinged to sink ships but I guess it could be worked on better) 2 planes from 4.7 to 5.3, 3 planes from 5.7 to 6.3 and 4 planes from 6.7 to 7.0 (this can be a little tricky as there are many battleship with no AA but I´ll talk about it a little further down), Light/medium bombers and strike aircraft should get 1 plane from 4.7 to 5.0, 2 planes from 5.3 to 5.7 and 3 planes from 6.0 to 7.0, as for heavy bombers they usually are slightly safer than the rest because of the altitude they are at so 1 plane from 4.7 to 6.0 and 2 planes from 6.3 to 7.0. Now a problem with this is that many planes have different performances and loadouts, so some might benefit from this Ai squadrons and actually become useful in naval but then you have others that might become way too op with (imagine a squadron 3 of AD2 with tons of bombs or rockets coming at you:burned:) one feature could be incrementing the sp cost of the plane depending on how many planes you want your squad to spawn with, example 650sp (the one that already exists) for a single plane then 850 for 2, 1000sp for 3 and 1450sp for 4 and it could change depending on class (a squad of 2 fightes can be cheaper than a squad of 2 strike aircraft). Another solution that might be a little controversial and longer time consuming for gaijin is implementing limits to each single aircraft depending on its armaments, performance and loadouts, this would obviusly make some players angry as some planes might get a good amount of Ai´s for its squad while the plane they use gets some limits.

The mechanic is basically already in the game but it would obviusly require some balancement (like always) but I think it woud help on making a fun experience for people using planes on higher tiers of naval, if you´re with a squadmate you can maybe even create a huge raid on the enemy ships and it would also spice up the experience of ships as sometimes it can get long an boring as well as making the huge AA armament of some ships actually serve their purpuse of shooting down many planes (plus it will get easier to kill those pesquy prinz eugens that always camp in spawn whenever I get uptiered with them (personal trauma, who else suffers from this?). Hope this is a good idea and that you guys like it.

This idea has already been pitched numerous times by many others so it's nothing new. It would be very nice and interesting to see of course. Best to make a proper suggestion in the appropriate section.

This is a fantastic idea, though I'm not 100% sure about it being for regularly spawned planes. It should definitely be how carrier aircraft are implemented in the future though, paired with the ability to switch back to your ship (like scout planes) and between active planes.

What we also need in terms of the massively overbearing, and entirely without player input AA situation is for AI auto-targetting to be removed from RB. AI gunners should only attack targets assigned by the player (a system which also already exists).

There needs to be more aircraft around but they also need to be an appropriate type. Ideally carrier based planes should be plentiful either player or NPC. Germany and USSR would just have to have some comparable single engine planes whitelisted. Large bombers mostly work as is with a single spawn and SP cost. So far the game rarely gets any sort of multiplayer features, all modes suffer from being little more than team death match with minimal gameplay features.

Aviation is a big part of naval warfare. Right now airplanes in arcade is too strong, whereas they’re too weak in realistic. We need more balance between the two, not just simply adding or reducing their number in battle.

sounds good to me, i prefer realistic due to the lack of planes

all too often get deleted in ab by planes (at br's up to 4.3 ish)
