Can Someone Explain Wagers?

I've received a bunch of these but do know how they work or if I should even bother.

 

I am specifically confused (nothing new) about "max stage" and "battles" in which a new stage (was/was not) achieved. What is a "stage"?  i.e "Max stage 10."

 

The criteria seem self explanatory and at my skill level I am not flying many LIII battles yet - mostly LII so the LIII battles are out. Also battles where a high kill count are out. I think my best battle so far has been like 5 kills so 10 in a battle is still beyond me. But I digress...

 

So if I were to activate one of these I spend/bet SL in order to win more SL if I am successful?

Stages and battles are synonymous - each time you play a battle that meets the required conditions you will either register a win or a loss.

 

A win increments your stage +1.  

 

A loss increments the "Battles in which a new stage not met" by +1

 

The wager finishes either when you get to the maximum number of battles allowed without winning, or the maximum number of battles won

 

"Max stage" is the maximum number of times you can achieve the conditions - if you get to that number then the wager pays out its maximum reward.

 

Some are harder than others - eg teh "best Squad" one is a bit difficult because you are competing against all teh other squads for that reward - but you can invest (stake) 0SL, and so risk nothing.

 

The GE ones are always worth playing because they require no investment and you will get 50 or 100 GE as long as you can win 1 battle before losing 3.  but even if you don't you lose nothing.

 

The SL ones for various other rewards you'll have to decide using your own circumstances - do you get a lof of kills, kill a lot of groudn units, often get he 1st kill, etc.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I think I understand the battle conditions now.

 

I am still confused about the "betting" part. Is a "min stake" = 0SL in the above best squad example.  i.e. bet "0" SL and if I am part of the best squad 1st time out I earn 5,000SL? Or achieve Best Squad before 3 not Best Squads.

 

And for completeness of thought - If I got Best Squad 9 times before 3 not Best Squads I would earn SL100k with zero bet, andSL200k with a SL10k bet?

 

I agree that best squad is hard - I think I get that like every 20 battles or more. I am flying LI & LII as a FNG so I often get squaded with a >L5 guy.

From my understanding and experience the stake is just how many SL you pay to activate the wager essentially. I always do the max stake because you make it back in the first successful game and its only 10k SL anyway. 

You get paid once you either complete the wager or not get Best Squad 3 times, and how much you get paid depends on your stake and stage before failing.

If you bet 0 SL, get Best Squad in your first game but not the next 3, then you would get paid 5k SL at the end of the 4th game (3rd game not getting Best Squad).

Hopefully that makes sense.

If you have someone to play with it will help you complete the Best Squad wager much more effectively as you basically just need to be near each other and get kills. Likewise with the GE wagers doing it in a squad will much improve your chances of getting the higher GE payouts.

Yeah. My brother turned me on the WT and he's skilled but he is in Australia. I would have to start playing at night to squad with him and as an old xxxx it quickly gets past my period of coherent consciousness - LOL

 

He's been playing since 2017 (off and on I guess) and is L12 and I have been playing since October and am L12 so I think I am OCD on this a lot more than him... 

 

I am not yet confident enough to join a formal squad but I have my eye on one that interests me. Maybe when I reach 500 kills or so and get better at ARB.

In my experience The Best Squad wager is probably the easiest to complete if you are flying with a friend/s. The only requirement is that you be close to them, 1km, while they kill someone from the other side. With most squads on a 16 person "team" random pairings it is much easier to win that wager than not.
