This just feels like a incredible amount of work was spent recording voice lines and then they were shoved into the game without testing or gathering feedback first to see how it worked.

The sheer amount of lines recorded and how they mesh together with different headings, ranges and readings feels like a AAA game, the way it was implemented it feels I'm playing some early access game helmed by a small team and not a 4-5 year old gamemode in a 10 year old game by a company with offices around the globe, this never should have hit live in this state.

Did you really have such high expectations of Gaijin after more than 18000 matches? "10-year-old AAA-quality raw content that is managed like an early access indie game" is literally the definition of WT at this point XD.

Are these new voice lines the reason for the poor performance I get in naval since the update? It only affects naval performance in the other game modes it is still the same, therefore I'm starting to think it might be these now voices in naval that is the problem.

It went from 60 FPS with some rare dips in framerate to almost constant less than 30 FPS and as low as 7-8 FPS but sometimes jump up to 60 FPS for a short while.

Lowering graphics setting does almost nothing even on ULQ it still drops to 8 FPS.

I have turned voice to 0 in sound settings but suspects they only mute and play in background anyway.

I do like the Italian voices. They sound like they're commentating a football game.

After the latest changes I think they're a lot more tolerable. Now if they could just stop talking after their ship sinks and I've respawned... or if they have to if they could be filtered through blubblub underwater sound effects. That'd be okay too. :)

What I really miss even before the new voices were activated is a vocal information about that a own torpedo hitted the target. I remember that a few months ago this message was present but disappeared suddenly by a patch.

Small addition.

Why do iI still hear my German crew after my ship is sunk? When I take another ship, I still hear the old crew screaming. VERY annoying.

Whu does the German crew scream so much? The Russian crew is far more calm. Please reduce the yelling of the German crew.

LOL you should try the British or Italian crews. Germany has the better of it.

Apex Predators (2.23) introduced terrific new voice functions mimicking crew commands on ships.

A very immersive addition to this massive game, it is clear to hear some of the voice usage do not time well with game actions.

The Devs are open to well written feedback on this.

Criticism is welcome, but please be very detailed on what is happening and WHY it is not appropriate, not just you do not like it.

If you have a suggestion, also be very detailed in how you think it will work, and especially what it tries to improve or fix.

Voices are also not 100% finished, something are being worked on.

Fixed if for you.

The problem imo is that the crew never stops shouting.
Most of the time about stuff unrelated to what you are doing, i actually wish i could turn off their sounds as it`s now.
Besides, the acting is third rate at best.
What was wrong with the old sounds?

Another problem is, the actual player commands are pushed back, until the "crew" has done all it's commands of course correction, sighting, blablabla.

Sometimes it can take up to 10/20 seconds before the important player commands are mentioned.

By the way. I only play Russian and German coastal ships at 2.3/2.7. And sporadic British. I like hit and run.:p:

I like the idea and I'm not against this addition, but I wish that for once Gaijin would spend their resources on things that actually mattered instead of what is effectively just fluff. But at this point I don't really expect anything from them so w/e.

Also why does the American voice sound so British?

The U.S. and British navies still use a single voice option (British), but in the near future the US Navy will get its own unique voices.

That is bugs and limitations of system.

It is known and will be fixed / improved (will not be any time soon)

I like the new voice lines, but have one complaint. Bearings should always be given as three digit numbers, but currently they are given as two digits when under 100. The voice lines should say 0 - 8 - 0, not 8 - 0.

This was bothering me as well. Hopefully this is something they'd be able to fix simply through editing the existing recordings.

The Italians and Brits are probably my favourite, the Italians especially are so enthusiastic.

The Italian voice actor put in WORK first time I got hit and was on fire was terrifying since I was testing vr performance with surround sound headphones and was down scope. It literally sounds like he may be burning to death or when we're flooding and a compartment fills up it sounds panicked. I went to test the English voice lines on holy cow did that guy not get into character. Maybe the British navy were more disciplined but it doesn't sound like he's on the ship but rather an announcer. I understand both languages and maybe I'm just not used to an English accent but the Italian one sounds like his friends are burning to death the English one sounds like "oh bother we seem to have been hit most dreadfully tally ho". I much prefer the Italian version. They really need an American voice actor for the American tree I'm almost 100% sure someone would be willing to do it for free or like ingame stuff. Not discrediting the English one maybe that's how they sound when they're burning to death idk. Image is damage control center on littorio class battleship.  This link shows how AMAZING the voice actor was it's film from the white ship filmed on board the littorio class utilizing many of the crew

Ok, this made me laugh for real. :) Doesn't the British commander say at the end of the battle he's putting some tea on, too? That was a bit much.

And yes, the Italian lines are amazing, and the German lines sound like everyone has put a bucket on their head and are running around the bridge colliding with each other like the Monty Python Gumbies. Which may also be how Germans sound when they're burning to death, idk either  :)

Well the Germans were a bit:burned: at surface naval in ww2. Their ships all were prone to flipping over in moderate seas unless they had a half load of ammo for balast, the Bismark got killed by a rudder jam that wouldn't have killed even a four propped German wwi bb, the blucher, the Germans any time they went toe to toe with the regia marina after the armistice.  yeah, Germans at sea are kinda like Russians at sea, they aren't the best at it especially in that era so it doesn't surprise me the crews may be slightly in experienced and bumbling. That all being said that south Atlantic raider that scuttled off the coast of Argentina.....:gunner:.

But that´s just like we germans are in reality :). Just think about how the Argentinians gave the Tango to the world while Italy donated the Tarantella, my ancestors gifted the "Stechschritt". Yes exacteley, that word sounds just like you imagine it would do and the moves are as elegant as a freighter breaking in half. Fair winds, Fleur

After playing with these new voices for some time...

Russian voices are pretty good, but could we have some sort of translation? My Russian (and Japanese, Italian) is a bit rusty.

English/US voices are also pretty good.

German voices are terrible. Why do they have to yell all the time? And especially the bloke who's whining about the ship that's heavily damaged. I play less German ships these days, because these voices are very annoying after a few battles.

As it stands the only reason I am playing naval currently is for the op winter tasks, once I am done with these I will be ditching naval while these lines are like this

So much truth! I could already tell that they didn't play the ships enough, but the last update and the bugs introduced in the past couple of months plus the unrequested and entirely untested torpedo change has convinced me that they're probably just ruined with scope creep and/or understaffing. Clearly someone doesn't want to test or doesn't have time to test these new features.

still poorly coded and poorly thought out

if it was in any way acceptably coded you would not get messages from the vessel that has sunk while you are selecting the next and indeed while you are in and using the next one

again it is another idea that might perform acceptably when your machine is plugged direct to the server but fails badly when experiencing the practicalities of playing a world wide game over the internet

the need to stack the responses only compounds the problems for gameplay
