Guys, keep it on topic. I know that this will stay as a rather volitile topic for the foreseeable future however do keep politics out of it. So far most of you guys have been keeping this suggestion on-topic, please keep it that way. I also cleaned up some of the off-topic stuff.

I think it can exist as a line in a pan-eastern European tree, but there needs to be some connection to Ukraine for the preindependence stuff like the t54 (say, they were used by ethnically Ukrainian units or were briefly in active Ukrainian stocks after the collapse of the USSR before being disposed of or were built at the Kharkiv plant). I'm pretty sure that's what you were going for already, but I think you would get more support if you marked this out explicitly in each vehicles description.

Eastern European tree is a terrible idea and should not come to fruition

Yes we need more op tanks

Eventually, we will start seeing MBTs with 130/140 NATO or 152 Soviet/Russian as some nations are very close to those calibers already.

I voted no, because a majority of this tech tree is just copy+paste Soviet/Russian vehicles with a different skin. If there is a Ukrainian tech tree, it would also have to get air/navy/helicopters. And a majority of the planes and helicopters would just be copy+paste Russian vehicles.

What would be the motivation for people to play this tech tree? It will just be the same vehicles as in the Russian tech tree; except with limited and less-advanced options.

I second this one, it’s simply a less advanced Soviet Tech tree and copy & paste, the tree wouldn’t even get past rank 7 for Ground Forces  and rank 8 for its Air Force, I also don’t see how this can be compared to Israel when it comes to its independent implementation.

I think that any nation that can reasonably be added as an independent faction deserves the chance. +1 from me

No disrespect but what you said could be said almost exactly about the Yugoslavia tree which a lot of people support and uses equipment that is derived from the Soviet Union as well, and would cap at the M-84AS2 and MiG-29SM.

The USSR tree isn’t formatted to use vehicles from former USSR states and would be bloated heavily if Ukraine were to be implemented into the tree as it stands. Not to mention there’s no representation from any other Post-Soviet state other than Russia.

There’s a difference though, Yugoslavia has many unique designs, not only that, they have more to offer, Ukraine is made up mostly of upgraded Soviet Hardware.

Not really. The Ukrainian T-84 is a unique development similarly to how the M-84 was developed in terms of taking a Soviet design and indigenously modifying it. There’s plenty of that in both trees as well as indigenous designs. Ukraine has created new missiles, armored fighting vehicles, etc.

It’s your opinion though so I respect that.

I understand that completely, though It’s really hard to compare Ukraine to Yugoslavia, Yugoslavia would be a conjunction of modern nations too with many of their own vehicles. Nobody wants to grind a tech tree similar one we have in game except for those with nationalist biases, no offense. Ukraine is still a very interesting topic, though it’s implementation would be very controversial no matter how you do it.

Ukrainian tanks are fairly different from their Soviet counterparts.

New ERA, new projectiles, new FCS systems, whole new cannon with the Yatagan even.

Regarding light vehicles they produce new variants of BMP’s that carry different armaments as well and the BTR-4 is a gem for this tree too.

Though I wouldn’t say Ukraine is one of the top contenders for a new independent nation when it comes to it’s vehicle selection (especially in the other modes), they definitely aren’t copy/paste.

There’s a few vehicles I’d personally love to see out of the tree, BTR-4 like you said would be a great one and the Oplot and Yatagan
