When attempting to select the AIM-7E-2 Dogfight Sparrows, the inboard right hand slot cannot accept the paired set as it can with AIM-7F. Is this intentional or an error?

You can load up max of 5 Sparrows on Tomcat due to autopilot (or its lack of) for E-2 Sparrow.

AFAIK, AIM-7F doesn't have such issues.

The F4J has a similar issue where if you use one type of missile you can't use any of the other. I'm uncertain if this is a realistic bit of old computer technology or a bug.

You cannot mix E-2DF and 7F because missiles use different guidance systems.

DF uses DF mode while 7F doesn't have DF mode.

I Don't know where they have pulled that from, but neither of the "relevant" SAC's indicate that only 5 can be carried, but state that the full compliment of 6 AIM-7E/-F's could be carried

F-14A '74 SAC;

http://www.alternatewars.com/SAC/F-14A_Tomcat_SAC_-_July_1974.pdf

F-14A '77 SAC;

http://www.alternatewars.com/SAC/F-14A_Tomcat_SAC_-_April_1977.pdf

Considering that the "Early" model seems to conflate a number of sources and mix in features of various production blocks into the cockpit / 3D model, and the ordnance of the '77 SAC, this decision seems to be really weird point of accuracy to be taken, considering how much seems to be a state of flux or flat out wrong.

Apparently it's because of this page in the flight manual:

Which year / edition of the -AAA-1 manual is that from? I'm trying to match it up with the production blocks to find out if it is actually relevant to the aircraft we have in game (As I don't think it is), but I don't know, though it is at least from 1980~1982 or later due to the mention of the AIM-7M.

The '74 SAC seems to be relating to Blocks 65~90/95 , and the '77 SAC; Block 90/95 to a future date, which is when they added the nose probe, and had implemented the ordnance found in game, so our "Early" F-14A is actually a number of years into its career and not the introductory model that it should be.
