Rptd: Significant FPS drop after second spawn

 Share

# Prerequisites:

  • Restarted the game: yes

  • Cleared the cache: yes

  • Checked game integrity: yes

  • Disabled custom content: yes

# Game version

2.13.0.66

# Description

The game would encounter a significant drop in frame rate after a prolonged period of time in a match, usually after spawning in a second vehicle. The frames per second drops from 60 to as low as 14 fps. Setting the graphics to ULQ does not help, as the frame is still cut by a half from 140 to 60 fps. Entering to sniper sight mode negates some of the graphic stuttering.

# Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Enter a match with any tank on any map

  2. Stay in battle until around 5 - 10 minutes

Hi,

Does that clog file have the FPS tool running?  IF not, please do the following:

1.  Start the game and login etc and wait for hangar screen to load.

2.  Press these keys together to start the profiler  Fn+Alt+F11 (These three buttons together turn the profiler on and off) (Alt+F11 if your keyboard has no Function key - Also for Linux)

3.  Play several games (at least 3) with the profiler on.

4.  After the end of the last game please press Fn + F11(F11 with no Function key - Also for Linux) this will write the information to the clog.  Please include this file with your report.

5.  Press Fn+Alt+F11 to stop the profiler(Alt+F11 if your keyboard has no Function key).

Can you then provide the clog file, replays and (if possible) video of the graphic events.  This will record the interactions between your client and the Game Servers in more detail to assist the Developers and the Technical Moderators solve your issue.

During one of the games, can you also run a Trace Route please

Click the Windows Icon (bottom left hand side of screen)  This will display the Menu options.
    Choose Run
Type cmd  (this will open a command shell window)
    Type - tracert warthunder.com
    Press Enter
Please screenshot and include the path result.

Thanks

You can see the result of the tracert yourself.

Did you take it during the second spawn or before?

Okay, thanks.  So it isn't that great before the 2nd spawn.  Especially after hop 5.

Can you do one during the second spawn.  It is curious that it is during the second spawn.

I played multiple games yesterday, both AB GF and RB/AB Air without issue.

Try updating your GPU driver as well.  It is not the latest NVIDIA driver.  Yours > Driver Version: 30.0.14.7212  Latest > Driver Version: 30.0.15.1123

Can you please remove the current graphics driver(s) using DDU (or similar). https://www.wagnardsoft.com/

Please ensure that you follow the instructions and use Safe Mode.

Then re-install/install the latest driver(s) and re-test.

That clog just ends as well, almost as if the client crashed.

You also have some System issues that you need to address.  Seems like a Windows repair etc wouldn't be a bad idea.

Hi,

I think you have a combination of issues.

Firstly, your CPU is rather old.   My Pentium is in my garage with the rest of my 'personal PC Museum' which goes back to my 80286.

Secondly, the 750 Ti is also an old GPU.  There is not a lot of graphics memory there to play with.  My 750 Ti is with my old i5 that my son just fritzed the motherboard on. ;)

Thirdly, your tracert's are showing moderate data transmission issues in the transit server hops.   Both the before and after are pretty similar in result.

I think the combination of all three are causing your issues.

Can you show me(screenshot) your graphics settings.  I will see if I can suggest some settings to improve things for you.

  • Thanks 1

Try dropping the Render resolution to about half.

Turn Shadows on effects and Heat Haze off.

See if that improves things.

It has no much effect, unfortunately. The frame still drops to about a half.

I suspect it has something to do with a certain graphical aspect being tweaked and not optimized after recent update. Particles, object LOD, etc.

The game would run just fine in the last two updates, which, I believe featured no significant graphical updates so far.
