[email protected] 2 Report post Posted January 6, 2022 (edited) Why is this game one sided when it comes to Russian tanks? All I see is T72's killing Abrams is literally laughable because it's not real nor fact. The Abrams would destroy T72's all day yet all rounds bounce off the T72 and the T72's one shot M1's constantly. Please fix this, this is a disgrace! Hell the T72 doesn't even belong with an Abrams, I know I was a tank commander on an M1 and the M1A1, never ever has a T72 ever destroyed an Abrams and nor could it unless you set the Abrams literally in front of it 20 yards away and it would still take multiple rounds! Fix this garbage it's pathetic at best. If I didn't know better I would think Putin personally owns war thunder and just won't allow his crap to be destroyed by elite American technology like the Abrams, the baddest tank on the planet bar none! I've dumped some series money in your game the least you can do is make it accurate so it is truly enjoyable! How hard are they to kill Putin just read below and square the game away, sure leave the T72 in with the Abrams but just make sure it gets destroyed accordingly ALL THE TIME like it should. How hard? Well, in his 1994 non-fiction book, Armored Cav, Tom Clancy recounted a tale of how an M1A1 Abrams got stuck in the mud during the ground war of Desert Storm. It was then set upon by three tanks, Iraqi T-72s specifically. A round fired from roughly a thousand yards away bounced off, and the Abrams responded by blowing the T-72 that fired it to bits. A second round fired from 700 yards, bounced off, and the offending T-72 was blasted. The third T-72, at a range of roughly 400 yards, fired a round, which left a groove in the armor of the Abrams. It, too, was destroyed by a shot fired through a sand berm. These were, supposedly, Russia’s state-of-the-art tanks. Then, when help arrived, and the tank couldn’t be freed from the mud, a platoon of Abrams tanks tried to destroy it. After several rounds, they detonated the onboard ammo, but the blow-out panels functioned as designed. Then, when the tank was retrieved from the mud, they discovered that it was still functional. The only issue? A sight was out of alignment. Edited January 6, 2022 by [email protected] Adding a published fact 1

They did this to make it easier to defeat an ally who wanted to separate from them. Because of this Iraq got T-72 tanks that were stripped of everything that was "modern" in Soviet T-72 at the time. They also had very very outdated ammunition and poorly trained crews. In War Thunder the worst tank from the T-72 family is the T-72A (and is still much better than Iraqi tanks). I've played a lot with this tank and the M1A1 is a real beast compared to T-72A. It has better armor, gun, amazingly good mobility and a thermal sight.. Destroying the M1A1 from the front requires a very good knowledge of its weak points and incredible precision. At the same time the T-72A has only a few points that can withstand a hit from M1A1. No wonder that poorly equipped Iraqis had no chance against tankers like you. War Thunder is not about WW2 or Gulf War but about tank battles in general. Tanks in each battle must be comparable to each other. Each tank has a specific battle rating, better tank = higher br. number. M1A1 has battle rating of 10.3 while T-72A has br. 9.3. These 2 tanks can meet in battle, but usually M1A1 meets the modern versions of the T-72 tanks, for example T-72B (9.7) or T-72B3 (10.7). They are just as good as your tank. Yes M1A1 is better than them in some ways and worse in others, but it's up to you to take advantage of your tank's strengths.
