# Game version

My game version: (2.11.0.100)

# Description

This is related to my other report about the German 13mm IAI fuze sensitivity.

The Italian round uses a fuze similiar to German impact fuzes as described by an US report about Italian and French ammunition.

Fuze sensivity of the round is currently 3mm, which is far to insensitve for an impact fuzed high explosive shell.

The Japanese 12.7mm HEF uses either the Italian fuze or a Japanese fuze of similiar functionality.

# Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Protection Analysis data

# Affected vehicles

  • All aircrafts armed with the 12.7mm Breda-SAFAT MG

  • All aircraft armed with the 12.7mm Ho-103

-> Here it says the fuze is similiar to the German AZ 5045 (they write A2 by mistake)

The also have a report on German ammunition and fuzes:

Here it shows the AZ 5045 fuze:

Quote

The striker, now unsupported and the hammer are moved forward by creep during deceleration and are protected from air pressure by the brass closing disc.

The actual Italian 12.7mm fuze can be seen in this picture.

On impact with any material the 0.3mm thick brass disc, which only serves to protect the striker from air drag, is crushed and the striker is pushed into the detonator.

@KillaKiwi

Hello, thank you for your interest in improving the game! I understand that the brass disc merely protects the striker from the air drag, however, is there any other source, which perhaps mentions a similar performance as with the German 13mm shell from your other report, with only 2mm of cardboard triggering the fuze? Such a source would greatly help this report.

Additionally, do you happen to have the cover of the document / book from which the last picture you provided stems?

Unfortunately neither :(

I'm sure some folks on the forum know the source for the fuze drawing.

It seems the Japanese 12,7mm HEI and HEF shells already have a fuze-sensitivity of 0,1mm, however, the Italian 12,7mm HEF shell from the Breda SAFAT still has 3mm.
