An open letter to Gaijin, from the Warthunder Sim Community


Target1331, solo player, endorses the message.

Trying to escape the vanning realistic matchups in Air RB that were replaced by unrealistic mixed line-ups & low effort, low quality, map layouts with all ground units clustered in one spot on the map, SB was starting to look appealing with somewhat reasonable, realistic nation vs. nation matchups. But with the economy nerfed beyond any reasonable level, and the missing opportunity to complete challenges (e.g. Battle Pass tasks) even that mode is now not really an option.

Here was me thinking they had reduced them all, where in fact they have all (at least 95%) have increased. Not what I expected at all. But I’m sure there is a reason behind the madness  :facepalm:

My IGN name is drogo-joystick. Im your average sim guy that flies solo and hates Russian biplanes. I’m backing this as for a long long time my SL balance has always been above 1,000,000. Today it is way below that for the first time. The reward system seems to be failing, especially in higher tiers where the cost of progression is extortionate.

My IGN is Stakke, I'm an officer at =WoVi= and I fully endorse this message.

I would like to add that this update, along with previous ones, makes flying the majority of planes unprofitable. There is no point anymore in unlocking most new planes as it is almost impossible for the average player (even the better ones like me) to fly these in SB and make a profit in SL with them. 
One of the biggest advantages of WT is the abundance of different planes. The latest update has rendered this null and void.

Please, find a way to turn this back around and let us enjoy the game again in all it's aspects.

We have started the feedback topic for exactly this reason. So that thoughts can be left and we can forward them onto the developers. 

 

The changes made today were based directly on feedback from the previous update, and we will continue to monitor the feedback topics:

your monitoring and acting based on feedback from those threads is really appreciated. I mean it 100% unironically - thank you.

Problem is that we keep giving the same feedback through all the phases and while adjustments do show some improvement in some cases, in most of them it's not even close to be of any meaning.

I will be first one to agree that rewards are now better than they used to be initially but if I have to spend 20 or 10 hours in game to grind one mid-tier plane, it does not really make the difference.
And on top of that you get rewards like 5-10k SL per-hour while the same results (no of kills, etc) in AB and RB give rewards 10x (or more) higher.

I know from information that Stona passed from devs during initial testing phase that goal is to have median of earnings for whole mode and for each plane to be roughly equal between modes with assumption of 50% win rate. Sadly, something is not working and it's not small problem.

Yes, rewards are similar, we get 50k and RB get say 60k but you know where the difference is? they do it in 15mins and we need 2hrs or more

I do strongly think that your are sincere in your attempt to help us and I know that effort (most likely weeks) was put into this change but sadly something is not working.
It might be a small detail somewhere that breaks everything (like a small bolt in cogs of otherwise perfectly fine machine) but fact is that right now all tests we've done shows results that are wildly inadequate.

Unfortunately w/o details and statistics only you have access to we, players, can only base our feedback on what we see from our end.

This letter, while caused by very strong emotions boiling inside sim community is not aimed to be a riot. It's our attempt to show you gravity of the situation and it is invitation to more open discussion in hope to prevent true catastrophic failure while there is still time.
