WWM 1 Year Later


It's been over 1 year now since last WWM season and there is nothing saying that the next one is comming.
Last 3 seasons were organized every ~6 months, now even in the recent Q&A devs didn't said anything about WWM. Is the idea dead now?

I was hoping they were secretly working on WWM to improve it, but this silence is not a good sign.

Silence Can Be Both Good And Bad, It Might Mean A Full Rework Of WWM To A Big Degree, Or Means It Shelved For The Time Being With More Importance Taken By The Battlepass.

Or The Battlepass And WWM Are For This Season Tied Together. Who Knows.

I think the problem is that, by and large, most people couldn't care less if the next season came out today or in another year. Most of the vocal playerbase doesn't really care about WWM, so its probably not a top priority compared to things like the battlepass or operation summer.

I dont know why i should play/like that kind of WWM..
In the beginning was my imagination of an EC for Ground Forces or new kind of maps and Ai, new Gamemodes, Histroical battles  ... 

But in the end it was like an restriced random battle in Arcademode:facepalm: and I lost completly the interest 

 

Sorry but Arcade feels like playing on test ground....

You Have No Idea What You're Talking About Lol.

Season 3 Was Full RB.
Season 1/2
Wasn't Even Full AB, It Was RB With Markers AKA Tournament RB Settings.

You Completely Miss The Point And Have No Idea What WWM In General Holds. 
It's A Mode Of Strategic Map Control With Meta Game. 

Squad Leader Lead The Operation, Choose The Units That Go Into Battle And Decide What Kind Of Battle Happens, This Goes From Convoy Defense / Attack, Sector Defense / Attack And So Forth, They Decide How They Get To Their Map Objectives And Players Go Into Battles So Commanders Can Get Their Objectives Done.

Random People That Don't Play Squadrons Usually Don't Inform Themselves On How This Gamemode Actually Works, And Gaijin As They Try, Don't Really Inform The Player Too Much On How It Works & Plays Out.

Get Yourself An Actual Squadron, Sit In A VC With Multiple People And Actually Understand How It Works And You'll See You'll Enjoy It Much More, Knowing How It Is Behind The Screens Instead Of Just Seeing WWM As "Random AB Battles".

That was my first impression about the mode which get ruined and i lost immediately my interesst about that "gamemode"

My impression was a absurd matches like Tier I SPAA´s vs Bombers on Vietnam. If the commander are completly dump...

 

In all i had no choice about the vehicels, yes I know it depends on the senario..

But I hate playing Tier I vehicels and special if I have to change every match the Vehicel like a roulette.

In between I had very annoying possibilitys about the my line up, some vehicels was expanded in my Techtree but ingame i got they Stock, the same thing was with the crews. 

I had no overview about which slot a vehicel is aced which not. (I dont know maybe it was everything possible and i couldnt managed it)

 

Maybe it isnt my playstyle, because normaly I´m focus on one vehicel which I´m playing all day, so I dont like to change everymatch between the vehicels like Heavy tank -> Air battle -> light tanks -> Bomber....

Most Of The Issues You've Just Brought Up Have All Been Remedied In Season 3.

All Vehicles You Didn't Have / Did Have But Stock Would Be Automatically Be Spaded For You In Said Match.
All Battles Were Full RB, No Markers (Including Air)
Season 3 Was Mainly Tier V / VI (But This Is Something That Changes Per Season, So Just Take The Time To Check The Scenario's At Play And If It Sparks Any Intrest In Tier)

The Crew Sloting Is Something To Get Used To But It Favours Having Multiple Crew Slots Highly Crew Leveled Instead Of Singular Point Vehicles. (Which Still Can Work Regardless But You Get What I Mean.)

Well This I Can't Really Help You With In WWM, Best I Could Tell You Is To Just Cherry Pick Battles To Only Play The Vehicle Types You Like. You Want To Play Tanks Only For The Day? Just Only Cherry Pick Ground Battles With Sector Defense/Attack. Don't Feel Like Playing Tanks For The Day? Just Hop In The Skies And Obtain Air Supermacy In Air To Air Battles. 

Also, As A Squad Commander Myself, I Try To Keep Air Units Purely For Air-To-Air Combat, Air Is A Strong Factor In Ground Battles But There's 2 Major Downsides To It In WWM.
1. If You Rely On Randoms / Don't Have The Best Pilots In Your Squad, You'll Lose Important Assets As Planes Don't Come Plenty So I Usually Don't Pull Them In Ground Strikes What So Ever.
2. If You Pull An Air Unit For Ground Attack, Which With Good Pilots Can Be Godsent, The Enemy Has Free Dominance Over A Single Air Unit, And They Can Have 2 Air Units Up At All Time, While The Other Commander Can Only Have 1 As The Other Is In Combat.
=> All This Makes Air Units In Ground Battles A Rare Sight, As They Are A Valuable Tool In Controlling The Strategic Map And Dominance.

Honestly the only mode I miss is Enduring Confrontation RB which has been put to sleep in favor of the not so well executed WWM.
