  • JPz 4-5 and Jagdpanther 一 switched places.
  • M48 Super and KPz-70 一 switched places.
  • M4 748 (a) [Germany] 一 moved to rank III.
  • Valentine (all series) 一 combined in a group and placed before Matilda III.
  • Achilles 一 moved to rank II.
  • Gun Carrier (3-in) 一 moved before Achilles.
  • Charioteer Mk.VII 一 moved before FV4202.
  • Centauro I 105 一 moved to rank VI.
  • Ariete PSO and  Ariete 一 switched places.
  • AMX-30 DCA 一 moved to rank VI.

  • MiG-17 一 moved to rank V.
  • J-4 一 moved to rank V.

Changes to certain Premium vehicles

The game is constantly undergoing changes that affect vehicles in various ways, which leads to changes in their effectiveness and our reaction to these changes. Apart from those rare cases when these changes are unintentional, we just have to adjust the economic parameters of the vehicle accordingly (for example, position in the research tree or rank) for better correspondence and more logical progress. However, in the case of premium vehicles, such changes are difficult due to the fact that many players have already bought these vehicles for a specific price with specific rank and reward multipliers. Unfortunately, over time the price and/or research multipliers of some premium vehicles stopped corresponding to their game efficiency or BR range, and in this update of the economy we would like to slightly adjust some of these vehicles.

Open the table of changes to the main parameters of premium vehicles

New formula for calculating activity

The current formula for calculating activity is based on two indicators - the number of points earned and the lifetime of the vehicle. In this case, points are used as a direct measure of the player's activity, and the reduction to the lifetime of a vehicle allows levelling of the difference between different players in different game modes. However, the used dependence of points on time is non-linear and is set in such a way that even with a constant rate of gaining points, the resulting activity will decrease as the lifetime increases. In other words, short sessions with a lower scoring rate are in some cases even more profitable than long sessions with a higher one.

We decided to change this algorithm so that it rewards players who play longer within the same battle and maintain their skill level throughout the session. Now, to achieve 80% activity, you need to be in battle for the median time (by mode) and have the median rate of earning points during this time (by mode). And to get activity above 80%, both conditions must be met, i.e. play longer than the median time and earn points during this time at a rate higher than the median.

Because of this, a large number of short game sessions becomes less profitable, and the use of a large number of vehicles in battle is additionally rewarded with a higher final activity - and, as a result, high earnings in research points.

At the same time, there will be a change in the conditions of the "Activist" combat tasks: the required activity in all modes will be 80% for an easy mission, and 85% for average and special missions.

Rewards for useful actions in the aviation SB mode

Previously, we spoke in general terms about problems in this gaming mode and our plan to resolve them. Today we’d like to tell you in detail about changes we’re planning to introduce together with the economy update, or slightly later.

The reward system for useful actions in battle operates as follows: every 15 minutes, scoring occurs for useful action for the specific aircraft, as well as after aircraft loss, or by the mission end. These are the same points that are displayed in the combat statistics window and in which players are sorted. The amount of points scored are reduced to the period of time they were scored, and the player’s activity in battle is calculated for a given period of time with the new activity formula. Resulting activity is multiplied by the maximum reward for useful actions (see the vehicle card) for a given period of time.

For example, in the La-9 fighter with a maximum reward for useful actions equal to 816 SL per minute, the total reward for a 15 minute period with an activity of 90% will be 816 * 15 * 0.9 = 11.016 SL. If you didn’t play for the 15 minutes and were shot down after 10 minutes with the same activity level, the formula will be 816 * 10 * 0.9 = 7.344 SL. The Silver Lion multiplier doesn't affect the resulting reward for useful actions.

Thus, to get the maximum reward, you have to play as long as you can, keeping the maximum income level. The scoring of points for simply staying near enemies for this reward system will be disabled.

Changes will also slightly affect the mechanics of the deferred reward when landing at an airfield - now the deferred part of the reward that is issued after a successful return to the airfield will be 20% instead of 50%.

Repair costs for aviation in the upcoming economy update will be preliminary recalculated  taking into account this reward system.  At the same time, the 50% discount on revival from the repair price in this mode will be removed and the final reward in Silver Lions will be increased by 30%.

To familiarize yourself with the new reward system, you can take part in special events (check the “Events and tournaments” tab in the hangar), which will be available from July 15th (15:00 GMT) until July 19th (12:00 GMT), where if you find any issues, please let us know about them in this thread .

Testing might be stopped ahead of schedule for technical reasons.

After the results of the testing session, the parameters for calculating useful action rewards has been corrected, based on a longer median lifetime and lower RP gaining rate. Reward for vehicles in the lower ranks has been increased (data in the table are updated).

Reduction of research costs for aviation

Some time after the introduction of the new vehicle rank, we, as a rule, rebalance and reduce the research cost of medium and high-rank vehicles of this vehicle type. The reduction in the cost of aviation research due to the introduction of Rank VII will occur in the next economic update, which is scheduled for late August - early September.

3rd Time's A Charm?

  • Japanese Air Tree Optimizations:
    1. Ki-32 & F1M2 Don't Sit Right, The Ki-32 Is A Light Bomber And Makes 10x More Sense On The Current Spot Of The F1M2 Instead Of Gatekeeping The Heavy Fighter / Interceptor Line While Playing Exactly Like A Bomber In A Compact Package, Meanwhile A Disconnected F1M2 In-front Of The Dive Bomber Line Would Be A Great Way To Give New Players A Free Skip On It If They Were To Grind Actual (Dive) Bombers And The Choice For A Floatplane In-Case They Want To Play Naval
    2. More Folders: The D4Y's, Ki-45's, A6M-N & N1K Are Clogging Up Their Lines.
    3. Ki-61 / Ki-100 - How Exactly Are The Ki-100's Lower BR Than The Ki-61's They're Based Upon? They're Slightly Better In Every Margin And Yet Are A Lower BR Than The Last Ki-61 Tei. Move Them Up In Rank And Put The Ki-100 Into The Late Ki-61 Group Instead Of Early. (Also Ki-96 Would Do Fine With A Rank Lower Honestly, It's Just A Single Seat Ki-45 At The End Of The Day)
    4. Split JASDF Planes From The Army & Navy Line And Make Them Independently Researchable. You Still Need To Research A Good Amount Of Jets Anyway To Progress And Without Them Being Forced Behind The Army Or Navy Line It Gives More Breathing Room For WWII & Post-War Vehicles Alike.

Japanese Coastal Fleet (Tier IV - V)

  • Shonan & Chidori: Honestly Barely Make Sense In Their Tree Placement, You Grind Through IJN SC's/PT's, To Get JMSDF PT's/Frigates To Loop Back To IJN Coastal Ships. Is There No Better Way Of Doing This? Like Either:
    1. Transfer To Bluewater Tech Tree, They Play, Have Same BR & Are Essentially Starter Destroyers. Chidori More Than Shonan. (German K-2 And Torpedoboot Are Equivalent To This Change)
    2. Weirdly Try To Allocate The Coastal Tree To Make Some Kind Of Sense. (Example I Drafted Includes Separation Of IJA Vessels):

As for the 2 premium vehicles listed:

P-61A-1           Will be taken off from the sale / Будет выведен из продажи

La-5FN           Will be taken off from the sale / Будет выведен из продажи

Is this going to be permanent or will they return some time later?

Big thanks on the transparency regarding the RP changes for aviation schedule

Also about the activity % calculations, glad to finally understand how it works and how to min max it in game

Can you explain me why premium vautour with better offensive, defensive and missile capability has 4900 repair cost and 3.7 reward multiplier for Realistic Battle while:

Vautour IIB is at 14000 repair cost with only bomb/rocket load capability

Vautour IIA is at 8400 repair cost and with 2.4 reward multiplier?

Why the difference is this high for bomber at the same BR (9.0) but the not same capability? Premium Vautour is miles better than the one from TT and they have better repair + better SL reward.

14000 are way too much for this bomber at this tier. A bomber with no offensive capability, which get missiled/ out accelerate/ out turn because they always face mach 1 and 2 at 9.0.

There is actually no reason to use these bomber.

Vautour series had never be a plane which could carry or save a match. Most of the time people considered these planes are only taking a useful slot in team just for bombing?

Please consider to put Vautour IIB/IIA at 8.7 or change the Repair/reward multiplier.

Also if MiG-17 is now a Rank V, please consider to put Mystere IVA as a rank V

Suggestion

PTL02

RankV→VI

China Rank V's PTL02 was the same 220mm poor darts as Type 69 when it was first implemented

However, after that, Update "Red Skies" added a 381mm DYW shell that has better performance than M774, and the loading time was shortened

Equipped with 381mm darts, standard loading speed and FLIR, this vehicle has similar performance to WMA301, the same Chinese Rank VI premium vehicle, not Rank V performance.

You're making us wait another six weeks for RP reductions and you still make us research at minimum five (where the tree even has that) rank VI aircraft to get to rank VII. Is this a joke? There is no reason to play the game at all between now and the RP reduction because of how much SL and RP you can save by simply not playing the game.

Also I enjoy that you are balancing the Sagittario by massively increasing the SL cost rather than actually placing it at the correct BR.

Why were Rank VI aviation costs reductions delayed?

And why are you giving the Sagittario 2 such a stupidly high repair cost??? Just put it at 8.7 alongside the MiG-15bis and the Sabres, instead of giving it that rep cost man, cmon...

the use of a large number of vehicles in battle is additionally rewarded with a higher final activity

Right so nations with little to no lineups like Japan are getting sort of nerfed with this scheme

Mig-23M is less than 5 figures [sensible].
How about ending the tom-foolery that is 5 figure repair costs entirely?

I get that you want to incentivize people to play other vehicles, but maybe, just maybe, having lower repair costs on the lesser played vehicles, & the vehicles before them [like Mig-21bis] in general would benefit?

We get that Sagittario 2 was over-used in the first 2 weeks of the major update, but you guys balanced it. People are using it less. & the people who used it in the first 2 weeks went onto other aircraft already.

Its repair cost should remain sub-5 figures.

Granted, I am saying this as someone who would've only ever played it to spade it, but now I just will never play it if the repair cost remains that high. Never to experience a niche aircraft... you guys are over-reacting to it.

Wait wait wait, what with GE that players paid? Su122p costed 6k, its not small amount of money, now it gets 4k. So players gonna be deceived on money? Its literally stealing and theres nothing to talk about. Theres more and many players gonna loose MONEY that they worked by own

Gaijin, the state of the French tech tree has worsened. The AMX-13, Char-25T and Lorraine are vehicles that, while fun, still are expensive. To increase the repair costs means that you are going to torture more French players, as the repair costs are already high enough. I am begging you, lower their repair costs, as these vehicles, if they have a low repair cost, will not be spammed the hell out because they do be like that. Gun that kept wobbling, and a pretty weak armour for its BR, even with autoloading mechanism, they don't deserve higher repair costs, please.

Second, don't make the repair cost of the Mysteres and Ouragans higher, because these planes are just awfully average fighters, and can be easily stomped by its far cheaper enemies. Yet, to give them high repair costs is just illogical, as it should have the repair costs of that of a MiG-15 (not bis).

1. I belive that both Strv122 should go down in repair cost to level of 2A6. Single 122 cost as much as 80bvm, 90a and 72b3 together. I get that Smin said: "Both the Strv 122s remain some of the highest performing vehicles at 11.0." but the truth is that it is like that because only above avarange skilled players can play then with profit. I had to give up playing that tank when it's repair cost was raised again to current level. Loosing 2x Strv122 and let's say Lvkv 9040c equals having to pay almost 24k for 3 stock vehicles.
2. Strv121 is the same tank as 2A4 and it cost twice as much as German 2A4. And it is like that in moment when Germany have way better lineup capabilities at 10.0 br.

3. Why does Swedish Sam systems cost twice as much as ADATS or Tunguska while they have basically no anti -tank capabilieties?
Decreasing repair for Swedish TT would be good ocasion for more players to try playing them without bankrupting.

4. J4 and MIG17 are the same plane and China have to pay 2x more to pepair their plane.

5. Draken, Mirage 3C, F5A why they are more expencive to repair than F4Es to repair? They are lower at BR but 99% of matches they play are at 11.0 br and have to face enemies that have better armament/radar/rwr/acceleration.

6. Mk22 is getting higher repair cost AND increased br? It's vorse than mk24 i everything and yet it's way more expencive. I't just ridiculous.

Why does the M1A2 cost almost twice as much to repair as the Leopard 2A6 in RB?

Why does the SIDAM 25 have the highest repair cost out of tier 5 guided SPAA? It's arguably the worst one of them all since it doesn't have a radar even

And to top it all why does a support unit like Anti Air have to have such high repair costs in a tier where the aircraft spam the strongest ever? (looking at SAMs specifically)

This makes 0 sense

Also it took 10 days for tanks to receive their economy changes.... why is it that it takes so long for planes to receive their changes?

And can you stop moving around vehicles in the tech tree? i'm researching the Centauro 105 for once and now you're just going to throw it into the next tier....

What i really would love to see is rewarding top 3 players of losing team by giving them same reward as players in winning team. This would encourage all players to play at end of match hoping to be in at least in that top 3 players of losing team. Now it feels like there is no reason to stick around when 1/3 team leaves after 5min after losing 1-2 vehicles.
Its better to just leave and go next match and get win from that then stick around playing 5-10min match that you probably cant even win.
Or if Top 3 is too much, then give reward to people who get medals like "Hero of the Sky/Ground","Survival" and "On Hand".

I would like to say that it continues to be disappointing to me that Gaijin is decreasing rewards.  Not for every vehicle, but that's the general trend.  And some of the reductions are staggeringly large.  Might I suggest that if encouraging players to buy premium is the ultimate goal, maybe add, as a premium perk, elimination of all repair costs.

Well, then a better question might be - why is it not in this update? I am looking at a bunch of grinding that I am actively discouraged from doing because the RP will just disappear into the aether when the costs are reduced.

You are encouraging me to not play the game and I must say with the latest BR changes and now some of these highly questionable repair cost changes I feel more and more like I should thank you for it

Please, don't do that to the Sargitario II, every time you guys add something good to a small nation it skyrockets in costs, the vehicles aren't even that good but people like it, now with this changes people will play less Italy and more of the big 3 nations, please don't do that to the smaller nations, give people more reason to play those, don't do this
