(29-07-2021) Incorrect HESH Fuze Sensitivity

#  Game Version 2.5.1.125

# Description

Currently HESH fuzes are too sensitive and will cause shells to explode in contact with any obstacle. This is not historically accurate, as firing trials indicate that HESH shells penetrate thin steel plates and do not lose their effectiveness.

It can be see that a shell was fired at the back of a Comet tank's turret, where a stowage box of 1/8in (3.2mm) of mild steel (5mm structural steel in-game with 0.45 effectiveness of RHA) was fired at with a 76mm HESH shell. The 76mm HESH shell has a similar projectile to explosive filler weight ratio to that of the 90mm and 105mm shells, as such one can expect similar results to occur across the entire shell type.

From the same firing trials, another shell was fired at the rear part of a Daimler armoured car. In-game the area shot at seems to be modeled as 10mm RHA.

Note, that the detonation took place inside the engine compartment,

Additionally, another independent source indicates that penetrations of HESH (HEP in American circles), while rare, were possible, which further reinforce the fact, that at least some kinetic component of the shell is imparted before detonation occurs.

For comparative purposes with in-game results, a 90mm DM502 HESH shell from the Jpz 4-5 fired at the side of a T-54 in test drive. H
Armour inspector in-game gives the stowage box a protection rating of 4mm structural steel (~1.8mm RHA).
