Repair cost nerf to FlaRakRad is a definite proof of premium heli bias


It continues the tradition of nerfing the vehicles which pose any degree of danger to premium KA helicopters. Adats got its range just short enough to cease being a threat. Rolands lack night vision so KA helis have a field day in every night match. Now FlaRakRad has repair cost pumped so high it's like three times greater than the repair cost of some russian MBTs, even though it is as mobile as Maus and has no gun to damage ground vehicles.

gaijin giveth and Gaijin taketh away, as if helis didn't have it easy enough killking several dozens of enemy vehicles per heli EC match.

Unfair move, such a vulnerable, huge bus. Bad mobility and even fails at killing super light vehicles like Krizantemas with its missiles. Completly defenseless vs. ground.

 

Full hit into the lower chassis with VT-1 missiles. Not even the lightest imaginable vehicles can be destroyed. Also fails at BMP's and other SPAA's etc.

Maybe because Spaa weren't meant to kill ground vehicles.

helis above 9.3 dominate. it's only the lesser ones with 3km atgm that have any problems, and they are still useful for YOLO suicide that gets 1-3 kills at start.

AA missiles such as the Roland, Tunguska missile and the like cant hull break anymore let alone doing damage.

 

more like these missiles have been gaijinned

I agree with OP. its hardly woth the repair cost increase, compared with other AA, such as adats or tunguska which haave guns and viable missiles too, even bettre in the adats, the repair is 4x times higher wich is ludicrous. Even OTOMATIC only have half the repair cost.  You play a Anti-Air wich is suposed to stand still in spawnzone, because no mobility, just try to turn that behemoth, with no defense at all. Repair cost should be similar to those vehicle at most. Winrate is only minor influenced by this vehicle, mainly Leopard 2A6 and should not be counted, same as for every other vehicle, these tanks/td/aa's dont win the match alone. In terms of Air kills its no wonder, you play most of the time GER vs rest so many targets for FlaRakRad compared to other which isn't the fault of this vehicle but of the matchmaking, only few Tiger heli and migs compared to flood of Kamarovs, Mi's and Phantoms. So better matchmaking would solve many issues. Still the issue is like OP said, introduction of Premium helis without counterpart, we all remember 4 KA-50 spawn at start of match with vikhirs and nobody except ADATS could kill them. This just proofs again lik OP stated that top-tier helicopters, mostly only available with Premium Helicopters, are in favour of gaijin, which makes sense from a company standpoint but is a bad joke for the customers, paying ones or free.

My experience with it was much different a couple of days ago. 4 BMP-2M missiles to the back of this thing and it just drove off into the sunset. Same with Ka-52 missiles, literally had to snipe crew one by one until it died. Unless that was a bug and it's now fixed. It could also be only applied to missiles, as far as I know STB-1 does not fire missiles.

Would suprise me that atgm doesn't trigger hullbreak anymore but heatfs from a 7.7 does tbh. Maybe you got trolled by the game. I did a quick private match with a friend and hullbreak on this thing defenitly works. Unfortunatly helicopters are not playble in private matches so couldn't gain any data in that field.

You can clearly see how he need to hit two times with the missile, it's hull broken is way less sensitive than a adats which has like twice the armor of that truck, It is obviously bug

If you watch the top right corner after he kills the truck it says "crew knocked out" instead of hullbreak. So the last shot wasn't a hullbreak.

Intresting at least have to admit. But is Off from topic which was about the high repair cost, i also hit tunguska before with Nords from g91 direct hit without hullbreak..... The topic was that the repair cost is way to high for this vehicle. Which is a thing nobody can say its not compared with the other high tier AA in mind. 4x times the repair cost than adats or tunguska is laughable. Even oto is only half the price. Repair is way to high in my opinon for its performance. Only 2 ready missiles, with longest AA missile range ingame yes, but the drawbacks are way to many and to heavy to compensate for these to justify these high repair costs. What are your opinions guys on the repair cost apart from the hullbreak problem ?

that's a foolish logic

High repair cost stops the common player using that vehicle, therefore only really good players can make a profit with that. Really good players have high K/D => Repair cost will rise => Even less common players will use it => K/D and winrate will rise => Repair cost will rise

Nations which use their AA the intended way are punished with high rep costs. 

 

ADATs and Tunguskas are often used in a ground role, hunting enemy tanks. This means they get more often killed by enemy players and get alot less air kills. 

 

Pure SAM SPAAs are not used in a ground role, cause it would be totally pointless. You can't kill stuff with most SAM missiles. So players drive to a well suited SPAA spot far away from ground combat zones and just watch the air space. Playing this way means you often survive matches and surely get more air kills than players of those hybrid GUN/SAM spaa's, which are more focused to kill tanks.

 

Good kill/death statistic means Gajin ups repair costs to scare pple away from using supposedly "op" units. Thats just a iffy mechanic :) Especially if you consider what would happen if ppl would stop playing SAM vehicles...
