...and the source listed states a 6 second reload and thus 10 rounds per minute...

Hi!

We had different sources submitted, conflicting with each others. One listed "actual 8rpm" from a Striker platoon leader, another one "6rpm" from an Army reporter, and other documentation claimed a "maximum of 10 RPM".

We had to make a call, and decided to go with 8 RPM.

You can have a look at the sources in the original bug report.

I would like to point out that the same source of the Stryker platoon leader listed  both  8rpm "actual fire rate"  and 10rpm or 6s reload for the autoloader itself, specifically referring that the autoloader completes its reload in 6 seconds. the "actual fire rate" includes rangefinding and target aquisition

fDf5uct.png

the above document states the 8rpm actual fire rate and excerpt 3 states within the same document on a further page the following:

EPfF2EN.png

excerpt 3: "Although the rate of fire is commonly listed as 6 rounds per minute, The Autoloader reloads the main gun every 6 seconds, the gun can therefore shoot the entire carousel of ready ammunition in 48 seconds

These are not seperate sources, they are both from the same issue of Armor magazine by the same stryker platoon commander, the 8rpm figure even directly refers to this above 6rpm for the autoloader itself

the original bug report also explicitly made clear that the 6rpm number is false and likely a misreading of the 6 second reload number, the above source from the stryker platoon commander also states this directly in the above documents

the army reporter source is by default less valid since the platoon commander who actually operates/operated on the stryker would be the most reliable source of the two when it comes to the reload figure. since he actually commands an entire platoon of these vehicles and also rides in one to do so. the army reporter also has no direct link with the vehicle making his source less valid to begin with. all the more reliable sources, being the GDLS brochure from the manufacturer itself and the platoon commander that operates said vehicle state a 6 second reload for the autoloader

This adjustment narrowed Ariete's field of view, which is the worst.

It is the same sight as Centauro MGS, but it must be the same as T-72AV (TURMS) at the same time.

That's also what you wrote on the development blog.

Ariete and Centauro MGS sights now have to be x4.0-x12.0

You can have a look at the sources in the original bug report.

That's because as stated in the bug report one source was incorrect, as per the most accurate information source in that bug report the "actual" fire rate is 8rpm for the vehicle but the autoloader loads in 6s, so as per the most accurate information via the original manufacturer specifications and the most recent article by a Stryker platoon commander stating as fact that the autoloader loads in 6 seconds and always has means that it must be the same in-game so as to be "historically accurate". There are more sources that corroborate the 10RPM or 6 second reload time than ones that do not therefore to the best of our knowledge that is the fire rate.

Just go back and read the bud report and you can see clear as day that this is the case.

  • Stona changed the title to Update 25.12.2020 (2.3.0.48)
  • 2 weeks later...

@Ouiche can you explain why the sdkfz 251/21 starts only firing it's middle gun when the ammo hits 250 rounds and then gains 500+ rounds extra out of thin air? and shouldn't the ammo for all three guns be 1000 each? (3000 rounds as specified in the change) per reload? or am i wrong on that part?
