Naval Enduring Confrontation - Development Update

Captains!

 

We understand many of you have been asking about when Naval Enduring Confrontation will return and why it has had such a long absence. At the moment, we are working to resolve some technical issues for Naval EC as well as fixing the bugs reported in previous events. We are currently working on a number of fixes and improvements, however the mode itself and some of the issues are very technically complex, so it requires a lot of development time. Unfortunately, its unlikely we can expect Naval EC to return before the next major update. 

 

New Mission in development:

What we can also share with you today, is that a new mission for Naval EC is in development, currently called (not final) Denmark. The mission itself is a similar size to the la manche / English Channel map (roughly around 86 x 86 km, however again this may not be final). We hope to have some more details closer to when the mode will return for you.

The smaller maps we've been forced to fight on with larger ships just aren't well suited for them. Personally I'd love to see Naval EC be a permanent thing for large ships only. I don't mind the longer matches for EC and honestly the drop in-drop out nature of Naval EC really fits the larger ships. Current matches just are too short to make large ships worth the cost of using them. So all the amazing ship models and effort put into them is wasted because PT boats are what people are more playing because they are far more profitable per-match.

I won't be satisfied until it is here. This message clearly missed its deadline by 5 months or so. But, hopefully Gaijin will learn from it... (No, even I myself don't believe that, but this is where constant whining gets you.)

At least Smin gets a little leeway from getting private messages every week or so asking for the current status of development of the game mode.

I am expecting outmost performance to get the mode as soon as possible, latest after by a fraction of new patch release date.

Just an FYI "constant whining" gets nobody anywhere. Constructive discussions and suggestions are always forwarded. But just general "constant whining" achieves nothing at all.

Excited for EC to return. While I didn't notice any of the lag or bugs that I've heard others did, I am looking forward to seeing if they fixed them (like dead ships not despawning and causing lag).

It's the best mode for Large ships to really shine and show their true potential. Thank you for the news drop Smin.

Thank you for the update, i wish Gaijin would communicate like this more frequently in general, we are often left in the dark about whats happening behind the scenes which is sometimes frustating.

It would be nice for this to happen and I'd personally welcome it. Simply nods like this from them really help get me excited and looking forward to something like this. Being in the dark is no fun and you wonder if the game is stagnating in those darker times.

Very nice, this is exactly the kind of mode that naval needs. 

 

Hopefully they don't look to inspiration from the disaster they've made in helicopter EC.

Don't think so.

New stuff is expected with new patch, not with improvements of EC mode...

But maybe you're right and new naval EC will be introduces with new patch and have some nice improvements.

 

God, just before GF introduced there were a big waves on sea.

My hydrofoil was sunk after sea landing.

Thanks for the update Gaijin! Look honestly take your time with properly developing Naval EC. It is clear to you and to us that is the way Naval RB is meant to be played. 
We can wait but be open and honest with us about development. Good luck!
