great work on the update......but as usual alot of problems came after any big patch like : sound adjustment(other players engines- Artillery sound) +sudden packet loss + the whole game lag when the buildings fall down for example like rhine map or when a heli fire a rocket salvo from close distance.....last thing you should listen more to the community.

Overall the sound changes were nice but I've consistently been ghost shelling on enemies recently which has caused me to die when I should have survived. This wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't common but in the past week it has happened at least 5 times. Not only that but the shell will spark on the enemy which assured me that I hit, but I wouldn't get any feedback from it

Lowering the Sound to 0 % is unfair to other Players who want to hear their Engines.

And next thing is, its unrealistic.

"Oh oh i have a Problem with my Ears ? Ok wait i make Sound of my T-72 Tank more quiet so my Tinnitus is not so annoying anymore."

So you want people with auditory problems who like the game and wish to enjoy it  to "just deal with it" or quit the game entirely?.

We aren't even asking for 0% even 20-25% would  do. Anything lower than what it is right now.

Would be nice to have directional sound indicators, it's cool to have explosions and stuff but after more than 2 games becomes annoying and i'd rather have some music and just see on the screen engine noise direction.

I could see that being a good feature for AB, but I don't know if I'd personally want it in RB.

I dunno, as a newer player that almost exclusively plays ground RB, it's been really satisfying to start getting an "ear" for what's going on around me. Makes the games just a little more exciting when you hear something unfriendly approaching ("uh oh, that doesn't have a marker, and it sounds distinctly like a Panzer engine") and you have to figure out just where it's coming from so you can counter it properly. To me, adding directional sound indicators would ruin a lot of the tension/occasional "oh crap" moments that can make RB so rewarding.

I'd just like to add that I've really enjoyed the new distance/reverb effects for main gun fire. I think it sounds great, and there's enough granularity to it that I can tell roughly how far away something is and if it's something I should be worried about. I personally love the immersion factor of having enough information to have enough situational awareness to feel like I'm not flying blind without the game directly telling me everything that's going on.

Since the last update [22.01.2021 (2.3.0.76)] I am completely disoriented by the sounds.

Tanks behind me are extremely loud. When turned their way to bring them into view, they are too quiet.

This creates massive issues, especially early in the game, where there are friendlies around you and you simply cannot tell which way the enemy is. I have died a ridiculous amount of times in ridiculous ways to enemies who were near me behind a cover or a building, that I couldn't hear because of a friendly tank that was half a kilometer away from me.

To add insult to injury, planes and artillery sounds seem to be even louder than they already were.

All this combined has turned my games into total chaos. I am simply too disoriented to make sense of where the enemy is. None of the sounds and their levels make sense.

I am extremely frustrated because I started playing terribly. The last day or so has made me want to uninstall this game like never before.

Weird thing is, I haven't seen or heard anyone else being outraged by this. Which makes me wonder; am I the only one having this problem?
I thought it might be a surround issue or something, so I switched between 5.1 and 7.1 in the settings, which made absolutely no difference.

Please. I am a hair's width away from walking out on this game. I need this issue fixed.

Help me!

Personally, I do not like how the ZSD, Tunguska, Shilka and other SPAAGs have had their audible ROFs dropped to below 900rpm. The slaving of individual firing sounds to individual shots was otherwise a positive change IMO, and I'd like to see it extended to planes at some point, if that isn't too much of a problem to model for planes with multiple guns.

Also hoping the NR-30 gets its 1000rpm RRRRRRRR sound back in place of the upcoming 700-800rpm dakadaka.

Current sound design is completely horrible. There is no immension. Guns sounding like potato launchers. This game needs complete sound overhaul.

Aaaaaaand sound mods wont be useable in the next update...

Feedback on current in-game sounds: Okay, have improved over the years, but they are quite "generic" and bland. Some iconic vehicles lack the true feel of their engines such as the Spitfires both Merlin and Griffon. Jets sound whiney from the players perspective and aircraft MGs sound underpowered.

Fix: Epic Thunder mod.

Problem: Gaijin just out-righted banned sound mods instead because of one specific problem which has rendered all of the hard work people that put into genuine mods like Epic Thunder, which only enhances the game, to complete an utter waste.

Instead of introducing a proper solution, or at least reassuring us that a proper solution will be introduced at a later date you take the lazy approach and outright ban even if the majority of any "mods" are either for fun (like Phly Daily's sound mod) or genuinely trying to improve the game experience for players.

Surely a system of vetting, even if you use the content creators to be a force of volunteer vetters to allow mods to be uploaded to War Thunder LIVE, would be better?

Im not sure if it was this patch or Last patch... but the sound in the game is now AWFUL.... specifically engines (mainly tanks)   both enemy and allied (and even my own) engines sound completely off, in location.    They sound like they are on top of me. and echoing behind me, when they are  200 meters, or more in front of me or to the side.    Please fix this.. the game is almost unplayable with how bad it is.... You need to be able to Accurately tell where enemies and allies are (mostly enemies)  and currently.. you cannot do that. accurately.

I'm speaking as a prop player(exclusively).

HORRIBLE.

The gun sounds on prop planes sound like your "Premium Sounds Licence" has expired and now you are using the Free generic_macine_gun.mp3 and generic_cannon.mp3. They sound like nerf guns. If I close my eyes I swear i'm hearing the M4 in Postal 2.

All cannons have the same sound.

All machineguns have the same sound(including .50 cals)

Are you kidding me?

I feel explosion sounds are also a step backwards.

Ummm....ok. This must be the right place. Feedback sound changes. I mean, REALLY? I was hoping for a GIF option on forum to link some VOMIT GIF's. The new sound changes on ground vehicles are just DISGUSTING. It's not a while ago, a few months ago, that you made changes on ground sounds and they were AWESOME. What on earth, jupiter and mars got into you this time? And did those sounds got into the test server? And did the testers say "Good job guys, let's add them to live?". And one last question.Does the guy responsible for these changes have the abilty to hear sounds? Maybe he has 90% hearing loss or something. That i can understand.

As you all know I have quite a bit of experience with actual tanks, bombs, and artillery.  Consider this constructive criticism.

New .50 cal sounds for aircraft are too mechanical.  The .50cal booms and cracks from the explosion and the bullet breaking the sound barrier.  You do not hear a mechanical sound.

The artillery and bomb sounds (in ground RB) are too flat.  Artillery at distance booms but close in it cracks.  (on a side note the lack of flame is PERFECT but there are way, way, way too many sparks.  Should be at most 1/10th the sparks.)

@Smin1080pif you guys need a combat sound advisor I come cheap.  ;)
