  • Game performance has been improved for battles with large amounts of aircraft.
  • Cameras in the replay of battles have been fixed.

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.

why? i am curious

Along with visible modifications (vehicles specs, feature correction, regular bug fixes...), a lot of work is being done on graphic API, engine and so on. It's usually it's a few lines per update, up to a page of something looking like a foreign language for regular people. Some assets failing to load, loading too slowly, an internal action reporting an internal error, you name it. Dev stuff.

Listing those fixes would submerge what really interest players in a blob of... Klingon, and spending time to explain those would turn our updates notes into an online program development course. :p:

Nobody's asked the real question yet.

What skin did they use and where do I get it?

looking forward to it. it seem that SB EC was already runing on the limit of server perfrofmance and in fill games it started to glitch.

Hopfully this mean it will get fixed or at least it's first step in that direction :good:

This works the same for Plane Arcade air defence? It was just laggy.

Does this mean no more server replay crashing?

Nice so no more texture errors like this where the game decides to place textures in random places. Like I had oce with a rock that always appeard in 3rd person right in front of me but was not there in comander and gunner sight nor was it there in real.

Picture below is a nice example berlin map looking point A south there is a row of buildings in front of me ... 5 seconds before they where. But to make up for it the building to my left has a nice new texture.

Or did the patch fix the nightvision as it is useless in gunner mode for me as I can see more without than with NV.

Actually i think you are wrong. People like to know that things are being fixed, even if they dont really always understand what effects those may have on their experience.

This change log just looks like the Devs have done almost nothing this patch, and considering the huge huge number of bugs listed on the forums it really feels like almost all of Gaijins development goes on cramming new junk into the game and not fixing what is already there.

How many times must the community tell you that they want the bugs fixed before new content is added!

Maybe. Should we focus on providing informative elements and help players understand relevant changes so they can notice them in game (but they might not see all the background work), or on showing our work by posting wall of texts? (at the risk of having most of the players ignore patch-notes entirely?)

I'll see if i can provide an example (secrets documents don't get taken out of the vault that easily!), but it's really incomprehensible for a regular person. (basically, anyone but devs).

We know the (vocal) community is asking for fixes before new vehicles, but both are compatibles... and necessary. We had a really big "minor" update recently, followed by engine sound fixes / improvement, some guys working on optimization for air battles with this patch - we're not forgetting fixes.

At the same time, we got quite a lot of players asking for new vehicles because... they seems to like new things :D

We need both.

Love the lack of attention to the error in the firerate of the Mk. 4 Gunpods on the A-4B after almost 6 months of it being in game. Has been bug reported 8 times to my knowledge. Several updates to other guns, but not those ones. Absolutely pathetic. A mod not approving this comment would only prove my point more.

You dont need to be stupid about it. Just like any other change in the game it is summerized briefly by a 1 line description in the patch notes most of the time.

You would only need to write eg:

-Improved Client to Server packet efficency

Now a lot of people will understand that you have helped improve the game performance, but they may not understand exactly, but its nice to see. But we wouldnt need:

-packets from local host over routing protocal changed to format lix997 in line with the code hosted on the server to co-inside with pulse scheduleing of the ram clock frequency.

You see there is a happy medium!

The problem with not telling people about changes and introducing new content before old bugs are fixed is that it does not help identify why an issue may of started happening.

Take this problem that i have recently started seeing:

Now never in any patch notes was anything listed about a change to how the game did its visibility culling. But it just suddenly started happerning!! You changed something that affected peoples experience of the game and didnt mention it. When my other bug reports are fianlly closed ( i dont think they ever will be. they have been completly unanswered for months) I will be able to make a bug report about it, but I wont be able to point to any particuar version number that it might of occured in, thanks to the patch notes. That will be down to your guys to find out as the version number attached to the bug report will be comepletely wrong!

Judging by the amount of bugs on the forums it is pretty clear where Gaijins priorities lie! This makes me remember the phrase "if you polish a xxxx it is still a xxxx". How about a bit of polish now, before it becomes a xxxx, else polishing later will still result in a xxxx!

It is mostly Gaijin that wants new content as they know that is what brings people back to playing the game. A nice new shiny premium to sell in the hype of the returning plebs! We know how Gaijin thinks! It's very obvious!

Edit:

You should take a leaf out of the Factrio devs book.

Cameras in the replay of battles have been fixed.

When I'm a spectator in battle my camera still freaks out.  In VR it is so bad it makes me want to throw up.  Since a recent update it is also different inversion than my free look, so it is impossible to look in the direction I even want to.

Edit: Is this a different bug than what I'm talking about and if so does an issue exist for it?

Also RiotLighbulb is right, this is perhaps the least informative and worst changelog I have ever seen, you would be better off not posting stuff like this.
