Hey. As I said earlier, this week I plan to launch aviation tournaments in the game.

The tournament “Deathmatch event” in AB mode for 8 players and tournament events “Battle Duo” in RB and SB 2x2 will be available in the game client from 11:00 GMT on the 14th of February until 11:00 GMT on the 17th of February. Each day players will be offered a different vehicle preset. Choose the tournament vehicles and get ready for the battle against everyone or for battle in duo!

Voting will last until 11:00 GMT on the 13th of February. More about the tournament and its prizes will be published this Friday!

@eSport_Squier hi Squier, I write this here since I can't find a specific thread.

This guy in the video deliberately ejected in front of me in order to deny a kill. It happened in the FFA AB tournament for the I-301 coupon. The guy is currently 4th in the leaderboard and in this match he ejected at least 3 times (always when he was in a weak position)

https://youtu.be/doFK-vuMmM0

This is clearly an example of disrespectful and unsportsmanlike behavior, and since it goes against the tournaments rules I ask you to disqualify the player from the tournament.

Edit(16/02 12:30 GMT+1): I found 2 more players doing that regularly. Please do something about it because this is really a terrible behaviour
https://youtu.be/pDBuaCpHNRw
And since Squier always takes his time to answer, I'm gonna tag someone else too @Smin1080p @Stona @Ouiche @Scarper

Edit 2 (17/02 12:30 GMT+1): well, now it's been 48 hours and I still have to receive an answer. Bring back @zerbah, he always answered us when we had issues regarding tournaments...

esport - no not for me. If that is where war thunder is heading then I'm heading elsewhere (with my money).

See previous post. Among other things.

Tbh if you want a true competitive eSport scene you should focus around Squadrons. Since RB is the most popular game mode , take squadrons rb for example. People play together in some squadrons for years now and there is no doubt that viewers would find it interesting in terms of tactics and gameplay.

For example , at the end of every season top 16/24/32 squadrons would qualify for offline/online tournament .

Prizes can be funded by "special offers". Something like Dota is doing for ages now.

Atm this game is in repeat mode , login , shot , logout. After all that grinding there is nothing left to push people to be more competitive , squadron rewards are bad and majority of the playerbase won't even bother playing it.
Tournament rewards are bad aswell , besides the last one with PS4s , headsets , and gaming mouses. They take to much time and rewards are usually xxxx compared to time and effort you put in.

If you want to bring WT to a true eSports competitive game , you will have to step up , make the right moves and bring it to the next level.

I played good old Cod2 & 4 semi-pro back in the days , attended multiple lans funded and organised  by players so I have a pretty good picture how all that looks. If you want to know more , if you need any advice for the future if any sort of tourneys like that appear feel free to PM me.

Although I don't get why you would have to leave the game entirely, I reassure you - eSports will never be a big thing in WT.

I can't imagine any serious Progamer would like to play a game that has so many random mechanics that undercut his or her skills so decisively.

To be honest, it's quite arrogant of them to even push the topic eSports as this neglects the obvious issues the game has.

A good initiative to promote Warthunder as eSport is to democratize the distribution of servers worldwide.

From South America or Australia we play with a minimum of 250ms ping. I feel like I am a second-rate player.

How a game match is seeing with the ping number in GREEN is a mystery to me. I only could experience the smooth visual in test missions (locally executed).

It is true that Warthunder is not like a pure and frantic FPS; but it is very common for players to discover each other almost at the same time, generating "cowboy" type duels very frequently.

The average reaction of the human being is also 250ms...

If a player plays with a 250ms delay compared to another who plays with 60ms which would you bet that will "shoot first"?

The randomness and complexity of the shot being perfect and effective is one of the beauties of this game; but is something different from what I talking about.
Also, the visual artifacts from the lag are sometimes horrible, especially at the speed of objects in air battles.

I understand and have no problem playing mostly at 250ms ping but I would like to re/discover the game at least sometime with 60ms ping.

The fragmentation of the player base is not really a problem here, is a myth (or maybe the excuse of some old-fashioned segregationist)...

If you want to enter in a match quickly you would select all the servers (like I always set); if you want to be selective regarding "response quality", select one or two close servers and wait...

Is simply the today reality in our world network technological level.

Server costs is the problem? (Today being virtualizable resources and payable for processing consumption)
or code privacy assurance is the problem?

Really????

Is not the cost the main reason... is an improvement of the company/consumer contract, the final reason of a company life.

In my opinion, the search for better "player equality" in all geographic corners of the world should be a fundamental step to propose Warthunder as eSport.

Give me an example of an actual eSports game project that doesn't have good server coverage across the globe.

The connection quality need to be finally a customer ISP issue and not in witch world corner do you live.

The reason why warthunder can never be a serious e sport is ground forces plain and simply. There is nothing that you as a tank can do to counter a helicopter or a bomber flying 1km+ in the air. the reason why games like CS or Dota are esports is because everything can be directly countered if you play smart. Sure you could claim thats why you need a solid lineup but this will never be popular. Games where you have to directly rely on your teamates so that you can do what you're supposed to do usually fall out of the E sport scene very fast. Think games like R6 Siege. Sure having a solid lineup of hard breachers and pickers is good but you dont need to have that in order to win. you just have to play smarter and outthink the opponent. I as a tank player can do nothing to counter a helicopter that's 2-4 km out and is using a ballistic computer to get guaranteed kills the same goes if I'm the one in the heli or If im in a plane. Now that said air battles on their own could make for an amazing e sport scene. likewise a ground unit only game mode would be equally as popular. Naval would be the one exception where both air and naval forces could be used together and it would still be popular. the primary reason being that most ships have direct counters to air. But im sure someone will respond telling me how wrong I am and that I know nothing about the game I've been playing for 3 years now

Stats are too much all over the place.

Not realistic at all in every aspect other than their combat mechanics, and even then it does weird crap. Yeah no, I'd think World of Tanks is more Esport ready than this game... oh wait...

this is something, even though i am in a situation i could not even think about joining, i like to see with company's being open and honest with their players its rare to see now-a-days, although war thunder has no place in the e-sport world it has too many bugs, glitches, and hackers (i have been killed by a shell that came strait down on my tank (right in the center of where my ammo was) and the person who fired it was in their spawn behind a rock).

yeah sorry to say it but War Thunder is not ESport ready at all

Well, there might be some rough edges on the game, but there is a healthy player base willing to play tournaments every time they can.

If Farming Simulator got a competitive scene, why not War Thunder?

Too much opportunity to cheat. ULQ for example. Available on PC but not console.

You guys can't be serious about this, eSport is impossibe for a unbalanced game. The day Gaijin gets their **** together and focuses on gameplay fixes instead of new fancy game breaking mechanics we might be able to do something resembling eSports.
