Surviving the Onslaught SB Air Tips & Tricks (2020 thread)

SL I don't think so. RP probably.

I'll bet 10 rolls of toilet paper that you don't get squat.
Look how much you get when you cap A the whole way, then drift out for a moment

Careful, don´t gamble away your whole possesion!

Anyway, I think that overanalyzing the rewards for certain actions can be detrimental. We want people to fly so in a way to result in great gameplay for everyone. We see what happens when people fly to maximize their rewards in SL or RP (Suicide bombers...). People will always try to do this to a certain extent, so in a way - the less we know, the better.

We should agree that playing the missions is a great way to create good gameplay (interaction) and landing your flights and winning the "war" is a great way to get good rewards...

Cheers, JAn

Don't: Feel save Just because friendly plane is around. Most of the time they will chase your target instead of providing cover. That's a mistake that often gets me killed.

Very important tip i discovered recently is to  make sure to NOT USE "stereo" speaker setting in sound options. Until i changed this setting to "7.1" i had bugs andmore often than not i couldn't locate plane by sound, sometimes i would hear plane from the opposite direction it was coming from.

Well I can imagine it being rather annoying bug in case you sit 100% of your time manning bomber turrets. I mean, at that point you are probably not seeking for realism anyways.

Had a very nice EC6 game with a perfect team, 100% commited to objectives. We killed every recon plane, bomber and attacker formation and took every A point. I also escorted every bomber formation and can confirm the 8k reward as a number. We finished the game faster than every zomber squadron could do in just 1 hour and 10 minutes with victory points only by objectives and maybe some base bombing and ground attack involved. Never seen that before.

Wow, you found a team that actually plays the objectives?  I think you're lying ;)

Stick to the objectives!

Only once you figure how the game works and there are no Objectives in the list, go "dogfight" whoever you want.

Enemy players in fighters and bombers are worth mere 50-100 tickets, while a simple recce plane is 600 tickets worth.

Bomber and attacker raids are up to 800 and ground battles up to almost 1k tickets.

Even the mind-numbingly boring bombing of enemy bases is worth 300 tickets, for each base killed.

Aimless "dogfighting" in the middle of the map is without a doubt, the biggest waste of everybody's time in the match.

Sure, but only if you play for points...

Also, DO NOT come into EC4 until you have R4 planes unlocked and in lineup.

Its EC1 that is L2P. When you get to EC3 and particularly EC4, it's assumed you know how to play, even a friggin' bomber.

Level 12 players in EC4 without a single R4 plane unlocked are only good for a TKing practise.

Seriously, bot is gonna do a better job.

My question is how do you survive the onslaught of airfield camping that is EXTREMELY present in the 8.0-10.7 lobbies.

Pick a different airfield only works to an extent in this case with supersonic fighters easily capable to spot a dot on an airfield, zoom over and strafe you before you can take-off, and zoom away before airfield AA ever engaged them.

Picking a different lobby also only works to an extent when some nights people just aren't playing those matches and those who are, are just airfield camping causing entire teams to leave.

I have figured out a way of picking lobbies that have the best chance of survival for what nation I'm playing at the time. Usually if there's more than 10 people I don't even bother, if there's 2-4 or more players on one side I don't bother, basically I try to find the smallest number of players in total and hope it stays a civil and interesting match, getting in when the lobbies is created or just starting usually goes pretty decent.

Without MEC, I find the title "who is the fastest" a bit distorted.

The coolers are sometimes very inefficient.

And apparently the slip wasn't evened out either?

A D9 makes around 600 km / h on a SL well-used
