Sound

  • The volume and position of the cannons for player ground vehicles, from the gunner and 3rd person views, have been adjusted.
  • The sounds for allied and opponent guns have been more clearly positioned.
  • The volume of transmission related sounds has been halved.
  • The sound of switching in and out of the binocular view has been replaced by a quieter, less pronounced sound.
  • The volume and positioning of engine-related sounds for allied and opponent ground vehicles have been changed so that they are more clear and audible.
  • The source of background sounds in the hangar will no longer abruptly change as a result of the camera being rotated very fast.
  • The (sound) frequency of enemy and allied shots/explosions has been made slightly more pronounced.
  • The possibility of a particular bug occurring while using ground and naval vehicles, where the sounds of allied and enemy weapon-fire would not play at all, has been reduced.
  • The volume of allied and enemy aircraft engines have been reduced for players using ground vehicles.
  • The sounds of gas-turbine tank engines have been redesigned: An unusual and unwanted sound layer for the gas-turbine tank engines has been deleted and sound layers for the transmission, and for air flow, have been added.
  • A sound layer for the engine of the T-64 has been added which is typical of when the engine is working under load.

Other

  • A notification before joining a battle which states that torpedoes have not been purchased for one or more ships in the active setup has been added.
  • Battle (D14) - Ammo load for 114mm gun on the stern has been fixed. Irrelevant modification for the AA targeting system has been removed, ingame currency has been refunded for owners. 40mm Bofors guns reclassified into the utility guns.
  • Deployable overloads for the “Mistral”, “9M39 Igla” and “AIM-92 Stinger” missles have been reduced to real values.
  • AIM-9E modification which allows the use of the corresponding guided air-to-air missiles has been added for the F-4C

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.

I've noticed on some vehicles having problems when reaching the last gear, they kept switching between the last gear and the one before it causing the vehicle to unable to gain speed
Has this bug been reported?

I think the biggest issues for air RB that needs to be fixed is the desync / lags at high speed.

Another one is the mig-19PT's drag values being way too low, which is shown by its drag chute not working.

All these changes are of course welcome. However, I think the elephant in the room, if I may use that expression, is the way piston engines sound in the game currently. For some reason, since the release, they sound very high pitched. The effect is pretty awful, imho, as they now sound like a race of mopeds in a Paris suburb instead of the majestic engines of WWII or later fighters... I would suggest adding an underlying bass line to these so as to give them some 'ooomph'.

a good patch, the new sound engine needed those fixes badly. But please also change the engine sound for nearby hostile/friendly nonturbine tanks. The same sound file from the tetrarch really isn't fitting for most tanks like a tiger, IS model or even modern MBTs which all have much larger engines that doesn't sound like a lawn mower.

My humble opinions are:

1- The new gun sounds are much better than the previous "slap on the face" claps.

2- The engine sounds are much much much better and realistic now.

3- The doppler effect of a vehicle passing by you (especially in aircraft) should be enhanced.

4- I'd like to see the "whoosh" of large caliber shells (in particular the famous whoosh of the 88 mm rounds)

5- The screaming effect on prop driven aircraft when diving is still mising or inadequately installed since I still don't see it satisfactory.

6- The ricochets on AFV' s should be enhanced. I mean you hear the same "pling pling" of an MG round even if a 122 mm shell glances off your armor. Make it a loud "KAA-LANNGGG" which makes the crew hold their ears in tinnitus for at least 2 minutes as in real life... (Actually that used to happen when even 7.62 rounds hit the APC armor with us inside, back in the "goold ol! days... :P )

You can't equip the AIM-9Es with any other weapons, such as the centre gunpod. Is this a bug?

Does this update also fix all the sound volume in airplane cockpit in SB?

After the update, while in cockpit, you can once again hear all the unrealistic sounds like:

  • other airplanes engines up to 1000m distance,
  • ground explosions when flying at 3km altitude,
  • very loud flak explosions and AAA fire,
  • detaching parts of enemy airplane , like flaps gear or wings at 500m + away.
  • the explosion sound  when enemy airplane crashes into ground 2km below sounds like an atomic bomb

Sure would be nice to be able to use the AIM9 Es with other loadouts than just the AAMs.
