Will gaijin be getting a copy of the ban reason for banned players?

As of right now, we tech mods are not aware of the current situation on that, that would be more a game master area i believe so.

Obviously im removing a trainer for sids pirates(2004) as i barely play it anymore and would be worried of it detecting that. But unsure of any regular programs it may have issues with.

Assuming it has no issues with Autohotkey(used for CoH2).

EAC will only look at EAC Enabled games, such as Rust, Apex, Fortnite, etc

Just dont modify any warthunder files that gain advantages and you'll be fine

Does that mean custom hangars and soundmods are fine then?

Yes, custom hangars are fine,

Sound mods come at your own risk like always, anything that will come with "extra" stuff that gains an advantaged ultimately will get your account blocked.

As from a perspective, I use ETSM, used it since it was released. Warthunder will still allow user creativity :B10:

Mmmm I've used epic thunder for as long as I can remember but I'm very worried how it'll be treated with the introduction of EAC. Will probably uninstall it and wait to see if other people get instabanned.

I do have a question regarding Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, my latest version is the 2017 version. Will they be good enough? You can probably tell I'm not tech savvy, but if it helps to answer I am able to run other EAC secured games such as Rising Storm 2, Post Scriptum, and Squad just fine. Also, could we get more details on HOW EAC will be downloaded? The news page for it really wasn't clear.

As I’m very glad steps are being taken in this matter, I do have some concerns..

Are those ‘rumours’ this system being some sort of spyware really based on actual facts or merely FUD spread by opposition to this system?

And my other concern is what happens in the event of a ‘false positive’, does it warn you upfront it concerns there is a problem with your system, or will you get hit with the  ban hammer without warning whatsoever.

Chances of it happening are very slim but what If?

I understand that EAC is to certain degree a Spyware...

But what it really does is worrying and I do not want software that will snoop around my pc collecting and sending data to some unknown 3rd parties

EAC is not spyware, EAC is a program that looks for bits and pieces of code for foul play and code discrepancies.

The only network activity that comes from EAC is a small ping to the EAC servers making sure the EAC install is valid.

You can always get the latest updates for the MVC++ Red. from the official MS Page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
MVC++ Red.will install the latest files for your system, if your system isnt ready for 2019 MVC++ Red. EAC will still function.

EAC will inform you of errors if your system does get flagged.

There are safe guards in-place for EAC, you will get warnings on what is wrong.

Most of the time EAC will tell you to reinstall the game or fix the broken files.

Other times, EAC will give you a error number which you can look up easily.

From my knowledge, Gaijin isn't new to EAC, and I'm sure they have netting in place.

Privacy Statement

EasyAntiCheat Oy (“Kamu”, “we” or “us”) is a Finnish company which provides solutions against online game cheating to game developers, publishers and other third parties alike (“Customers”) such as game publisher. In order to provide the said solutions, we provide a wide range of game security services to game publisher, including client-side protection, server-side middleware, and expert developer centric support (“Services”).

When providing the Services to game publisher, Kamu processes personal data of the players or other end-users (“Player” or “You”) who play or otherwise use the online video game or other services of game publisher (“Game”).

The purpose of this privacy statement is to provide you information regarding the collecting and processing of your personal data and information regarding your rights as a data subject in accordance with the applicable legislation in the EU. From this privacy statement You will find a more specific description of how your personal data will be processed when providing the Services to game publisher.

Information regarding the processor

  • Processor: EasyAntiCheat Oy, Tammasaarenkatu 3, FI-00180 Helsinki. Business ID 2585063-4
  • Name of the register: The end-user register of Kamu
  • Contact person: Simon Allaeys.
  • Contact information: www.easy.ac/contact/; Postal address: EasyAntiCheat Oy, Tammasaarenkatu 3, FI-00180 Helsinki.

The purposes for the processing

The purpose of processing personal data is to provide solutions against cheating and fraud in the game. In practice this means information is gathered of the Players interacting in the Game and the gathered information is exchanged between Kamu and game publisher.

Kamu uses your personal data to the following purposes.

  • Prevention and solving of misuse of the Game by the Player (e.g. cheating and other unacceptable methods);
  • Identification and solving of misuse of the Game by the Player (e.g. cheating and other unacceptable methods);
  • Compilation of statistics, analyzing and auditing regarding Player;
  • Identification of the Player’s digital player account;
  • User-specific adaptation of the Service;
  • Producing and developing the Services; and/or
  • Other equivalent purposes of use

The legal basis for the processing

The processing of the personal data is based on a legitimate interest of game publisher and Kamu. In alignment with the various personal information protection regulations worldwide, Kamu has concluded that the legitimate interest to process the personal data is based on the following facts.

  • Game publisher has a legitimate interest to prevent cheating and fraud in their game, and the data subjects are aware of the processing activities while having the option to opt-out of processing by not accessing the Game;
  • Processing of the personal data by Kamu is necessary in order to offer the Services and prevent cheating and fraud in the Customers’ Games; and
  • Kamu only processes personal data which relates to interaction with the Game and the data is only shared with game publisher, the Customer operating the Game in question, for the sole purpose of Kamu providing the Services.

Kamu regularly assesses the legitimate interest for processing the personal data with a three-part balancing test, which considers the nature of the personal data, the reasonable expectations of the data subjects, and the likely impact of the processing activities. Based on this assessment, Kamu and game publisher have determined there is a legal basis for the processing of the personal data. The nature of the personal data is non-sensitive, while data subjects can reasonably expect game publisher to actively prevent and detect cheating and fraud in the Game. Game publisher has a sole discretion to decide what kind of the methods identified in the information are being interpreted as cheating or fraud, and what kind of sanctions are to be implemented, if any.

Additionally to the above, your use of the Game requires You to have given your consent to process your personal data as provided in this privacy statement. By using the game as provided by game publisher or by accepting the terms and conditions of the Game, You also accept the collection and processing of the personal data referred to herein and the terms of this privacy statement. The processing of your personal data is necessary for the performance of the end-user license agreement between You and game publisher.

The abovementioned data is primarily obtained from your use of the game. Same methods are also use by all anti viruses + the windows operating systems starting from Windows XP to Present, iPhones, Macs, androids, and BlackBerry Phones.

This isnt nothing new and the same/similar terminology/tactics is/are used by almost all Technology Providers.

Soo... this might be a problem if game decide to crash while joining a battle or switching vehicles in hangar? It happens to me from time to time. Sometimes 2 - 3 times a session if i have free day to waste in WT.

If the game crashes, you'll be fine, you'll just get an error saying the game didnt close the right way.

I can block any OS or any antivirus off from the internet and still use it just fine, just lose some functionality like automatic updates (which I can still do manually then). That's not possible with EAC.

And Microsoft has already been forced to disclose the exact data that they are transmitting under GDPR, have been deemed to still not suffice the articles of GDPR, and will be forced to further allow users to shut down telemetry.

So, with all due respect, your comparison is incorrect and not applicable at all to EAC.

Not to doubt your word, but is there any official source on that? So far I do not read the exclusion of non-game files in any of their documents.

I use an external firewall since i dont trust enough on windows one ; Tinywall is more effective , easy to use and can block some undesired windows 10 services too. When u use anticheat apps its very usual to be obligated to turn off your firewall otherwise the game doesnt runs. Anyways , i dont care much about it and i can desactivate my firewall for playing. I only have to be cautious and dont ejecute some pirate games before that .... xd xd xd

for me , EAC is a necessary improvement and i accept it as it is.

Now , i would like to now just one thing.....  when tha hell gaijin is gonna implement the EAC in-game version !!!!!!

EAC in game version = easy anti camper

i am using the epic thunder sound mod. but i dont know if it wil trigger the EAC becouse you need to add the the sounds as a mod in the sound file also you need to add: enable_mod:b=yes in the config of the game so i really want to know wil the epic thunder sound mod be safe to use after the 1.91 update?

I've asked this twice now in this very thread, and the best response thus far from a mod is that we're still subject to use the mod at our own risk.

Whilst I cannot tell you what to do, I'd personally advise uninstalling the mod when 1.91 rolls out and see if anyone brave gets banned. The new sound engine actually appears to be quite nice anyways, so it perhaps won't be too bad.
