Lord_of_Sofa 6,335 Report post Posted May 15, 2019 (edited) I thought about the rewards and I don't think the current reward system fits the mode. I see two problems with this system. The first problem I see with this system is that it does neither encourage winning nor staying with an operation. The most effective way to get a reward would to jump from one easy point generating mission to the next. I guess we all have seen such a behavior during events. Join, get kills/drop bombs, J-out as fast as possible, repeat until reward is received. The other problem I see is that this might discourage players who don't see them self as "Top 1000" and don't even try because of lack of skill, vehicles, or time. Both lead to players that play the mode, but don't really contribute since it's just another game mode. they will suicide bomb, rush the cap, and in general treat it like another AB/RB battle without considering that the Tiger they just wasted in an attempt to camp the enemy spawn was one of only six in the entire army. We all know that boosters, bonuses, or RP/SL rewards don't really encourage players to go out of comfort zone. There are only two rewards that could accomplish that Golden Eagles or Vehicles. Of course we can't give any participant his own free Abrams, and some GE don't really feel right as a reward. At least not for me. The current main prize is a premium, but only a small number of players will get it. So my suggestion is to the rewards for operations similar to the Battlefield Engineer event. But without random parts. For each 10 minutes with more than 50% activity in a battle you receive 1 toolkit. Each time you win a battle with more than 50% activity you receive one part. For your second battle within the same operation you receive two instead of 1 part/kit, for the third three, ... you get the picture. If the operation is won you get a blueprint for a vehicle. The blueprint depends on the operation you played and on the side you chose. This would encourage players to stay with a certain operation instead of jumping from battle to battle to get the most points and wins possible. I already made this suggestion during the CBT, but apparently it has certain pitfall to it that I can't see. So I hope you can help me to improve it. SvenTheFree 1,745 Report post Posted May 16, 2019 adding some ideas: - the players had to choose the side (allies or axis) during the scenario to avoid that it changes of side. - top leaders (from Operation Iteration) of both sides could win the blueprints, winning the Operation Iteration you receive GE, SLs .. to prevent the team that is losing to give up the middle of the Operation Iteration.
JohnF0X 134 Report post Posted May 16, 2019 A reward system for this mode quite frankly shouldnt exist, it doesnt fit it and only encourages bad player behaviour as stated above. ontop of that it will be quite chalanging to get the "seasonal" rewards in form of the AMX50 and the Spitfire since randoms can and will destroy your games, wasting vehicles and overall contributing nothing to the team. more over the fact that this Squadron Focused mode alows random players to join in every match opens up the abuse from toxic, hostile squadrons to abuse this system and purposefully join into their rivals matches with a secondary account and waste assets or right out start team killing. if there are any rewards they should be smaller scale and personalized, the FJ4B VMF events execution comes to my mind. aswell as the mode should be seperated, a more casual system for non squadron players, similar to curent the curent SIM mode but with a greater historical focus and a Sqaudron vs Squadron focused mode
