Report post Posted September 11, 2018 Would like to know more about this one. Is it still possible to see this vehicle IRL(what is its location?). Is the gun really super 90? https://live.warthunder.com/post/683597/en/
Report post Posted September 11, 2018 Me too would like to know more of this vehicle, unfortunately there are only a couple of images on the internet about it and nothing more. This is a very interesting vehicle and the ancestor of the Centauro, it is basically a prototyoe to the chassis that would lead to the Puma AFV 6x6. Initially it was intended as a emergency and low cost replacement for the M47 Patton still in service in the '80s ( Italian M47s had a 105mm gun tho) . Maybe BlueBeta knows something more. Report post Posted September 11, 2018 There is also a pdf file with some general information, but it's in portuguese: http://www.ecsbdefesa.com.br/fts/IVECO.pdf Google translation: FIAT AUTOMÓVEIS S / A, through its subsidiary IVECO, installed in the country, was the company ranked first in the presentation of the of the selection process of the Armored Car of Personnel Transport Average Wheels - VBTP-MR that should equip the Brazilian Army in the future next. The prototype and the planned sixteen pre-series are to be built at the factory IVECO located in Sete Lagoas, MG, using the maximum possible components produced in the country and will be an entirely new vehicle compared to which have already been produced in Italy. It is clear that they will use their experience in the production of armored acquired over the years when, in that country, they designed several models 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 for the Army, presenting at the beginning of the 1980s the Heavy Armored Vehicle FIAT 6636, a 6x6 troop transport that could carry 12 soldiers plus the driver and boss of the car. In the model was presented armed with a .50 machine gun mounted on a roof hatch, and then the prototype in the version with tower and cannon of 90mm that did not pass of the phase of prototype, but that was the basis for the development of a new generation 6x6 and 8x8 called of PUMA and CENTAURO, currently in use in the Italian Army this last tested by the Brazilian Army Evaluation Center - CAEx, in Rio de Janeiro, in 2001.

Report post Posted September 12, 2018 This is turning into a huge mystery for this elusive Italian armoured fighting vehicle! We absolutely need to solve this case. 5 hours ago, BlueBeta said: no there isn't, i already visited the museum for the P40 Did you ask the museum staff? Maybe you could visit again and follow up. I would, but that would require a more than 24-hour flight and I hate flying...
Report post Posted September 12, 2018 There should be at least one old museum worker who knows something, but we need a detective.

(i already know it and its brother 6634) so you are saying you can't find information about a 3x7 meter long light armored vehicle that was produced by italy for the italian army around 30 to 50 years ago? i find it hard to believe if you say there isn't enough info about ww2 era vehicles i would understand but not about this. it looks like this thing's looks, equipment and year of production is hardly different from AUBL 74 or r3 t106 fa (which i haven't even seen a photo of it yet). is there an explanation as why data about this vehicle is lost? how? i counted on this thing being in game, it would be a shame not to be able to play it.
