  1. 1. Would you like to see the Object 775 in War Thunder : Ground Forces ?

    • Yes, I would like to see it.
    • No and I have reasons for it (explain).

Object 775

Kg67E7d.gif

In a few words :

  • Looks like a flattened T-64.

  • A crew of just two, sitting in the turret.

  • Short 125 mm gun, firing missiles and rockets.

  • Use the same running gear and powerpack as the T-64 (with the exception of the suspension).

  • Variable suspension.

Layout :

  • The entire hull front is occupied by the ammunition racks with fuel tanks placed above.
  • The gunner sits on the left side of the turret.
  • The commander/driver sits on the right side of the turret, his seat and his cupola are counter-rotating to keep him oriented (just like the MBT-70 driver).
  • The whole crew is protected by a polyethylene anti-radiation shielding (just like the MBT-70.)

Makes sense as an IT-1 follow-on or a TD premium/event vehicle. 15+ first generation SACLOS ATGMs as the only effective armament make it a pretty interesting vehicle to play with. Increadibly short and ultra sloped hull make it a impressive ambush vehicle.

Would be very looking forward to it.

AFAIK Object 757 (w/ IS-3 chassis) also had a pancake turret:

Both of these would be interesting, probably make the Objekt 775 a premium and the Objekt 757 an event vehicle.

For the 775, why not a stock tank (Cuz 757 appears to be an meshing of the IS-3 & 775 and would logically make a good Premium/Event vehicle)?

I said that because they’re both prototypes.

It’s just me being biased against prototypes in the main, it’s just a personal opinion thing (I’m one of those guys who wished all prototypes were premium and event vehicles, while produced vehicles were main tech tree vehicles).

  • The number of the ammunition carried by the Object 775 is unclear, some sources state that it is 15 Rubin missiles + 22 Boer rockets while others state 24 Rubin missiles + 48 Boer rockets.

It had 3 types of configuration:

- 15 Rubin + 22 Boer

- 24 Rubin

- 48 Boer

Are those Boer rockets HEAT or just HE? Because a 130mm he would be kind of useless.... anyway, I'd love to see this in game....

+1 pancake for me please

Well we know what 125mm HE can do, so guided 130mm HE shells might be fun.

I think the "bore" rocket is unguided...

Pure HE, no shaped charge

It is very fast, it should be used against light armored vehicle

I found a new interesting info about this tank:

''В ходовой части танка применялась регулируемая гидропневматическая подвеска с дозирующим устройством, обеспечивающим ступенчатое изменение клиренса с 420 до 170 мм. При минимальном клиренсе высота танка но крышу башни составляла 1385 мм''

Google Traslate

"In the chassis of the tank, an adjustable hydropneumatic suspension was used with a metering device that provided a stepwise change in clearance from 420 to 170 mm. With a minimum clearance, the height of the tank but the roof of the tower was 1385 mm''

1.385 m :D LOL

it's called in many articles a 'Boosted HE shell'

it sounds cool and all

but the Rubin ATGM really sucks and this thing only has 2 crew. It wasn't adopted into service for more reasons than just money.

I have a feeling if this was added, it would turn out worse than Shturm-S

The reasons why it wasnt adopted are:

- poor visibility for the crew

- not very cheap

- not very affidable missile system (in the 1960s rrussians have the same problem with all of them, even with It-1)

Pros:

- it had a very low profile (1.35m at minimum setup)

- very strong frontal armour, impenetrable for the period

- very fast and very maneuverable

- good RoF

I think if it will be added in game, it will be 8.7 at least

I'll repeat again,

two-man crews were rejected because it is difficult to keep up with maintenance out of battle, and gunner can't also do the job of the commander at the same time. Two man crews are incredibly inefficient.

the strong frontal armour is not strong enough for 8.7 or rank VI in general

The ATGMs will have very poor performance at close range, and most of war thunder is CQC

it's a cool tank, but it just isn't really war-thunder appropriate

they are gun-launched too, which helps in most situations.

But these are like gen 0.5 missiles. These missiles would steer like WW2 bombers, they are MCLOS, and they aren't accurate beyond like 1.5-2km, so there is no point taking it over an MBT.
