Japanese Warships are very well-known, but cargo ships are little-known. But we should not forgot it...

These classes of ships are built during WW2 for math-production, and there are 4 waves.

Its engine performance is very low, and some of them using single bottom. Because of it when aground and it broke.

In total one thousand ships are built.

第2次戦時標準船 (2nd Wave)

In the end of the war, 3/4 of Japanese ship are these class. But they are too dangerous: they have only single bottom and too low engine power, so GHQ bun to use them.

When design these ships, Japanese lost maritime authority so they design its service life is engine: 1 year, hull: 3 year. There nickname is "轟沈型"/"sink within minutes-class".

The 1TL looks like it'd be fairly decent, as far as its firepower and speed go. There are two main downsides that I can see - the large size and the slow muzzle velocity of the 20cm gun. On the other hand, large size probably means a lot of crew, so there's that.

 

The 1TL is the most likely to be added as playable, since the others are not even armed. I could see all of them being added as AI targets though, in case Gaijin ever wants to expand on that.

Also, Standard ships in 1st wave are built early of the war, so they sunk before reinforcing defensive equipment, but wave 2 or other have same weapons as 1TL class.
