I had some success. Better but not great.  Here are steps that got me here.  I updated to 10.13.3.  The driver recommended by Apple support was 387.10.10.10.25.161. . http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/131833/en-us . When I tried to install I got msg saying it was incompatible with OS.  Determine via Mac hotline that build is critical for this driver.  They recommended 387.10.10.10.25.156. http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/130460/en-us . This installed and game launched and played but response time unplayable.  FPS around 10.  Played with WT settings with no success.  Yesterday, I get Apple notification of supplemental OS update.  Still 10.13.3 but new build.  Installed it and on reboot I got msg saying my driver was no longer compatible with OS and it was defaulting to Intel default graphics card.  A few minutes later I got msg saying there is new nvidia driver and it is the first driver listed above . 387.xx.xx.161.  So I load this and run WT and get same issues.  Tried different settings such as metal or GL with no luck.  I turned on old video card support and it works better.  FPS increased to 22.  Since I am new to this benchmark test can someone tell me if this test is a combination of cpu, graphics card & internet connection speed and if all three which one has greatest impact?  Second, what is bottom score in benchmark & I assume bigger is better.  What is considered good FPS and other score on "average PC"?  Hope this helps.  Anyone else have other settings that can improve?  Can't seem to find way to edit Nvidia settings as this tool only appears to be MS option.

played around with it a little more today...the real problem is while driving the tank. the screen "jumps". the smoke, fire and other animations are smooth, regardless if I am moving or not...

even more important to note, this jumping or lagging happens with the graphics settings all the way up or all the way down...explain that to me. so reducing performance makes no difference. but its like trying to listen to a CD that was scratched and skipping back in the day...

so does the Company read this or am I wasting my time? better to post in the moderated sections? pls reply :)

Hey guys,

I'm posting a little update on my War Thunder client as of the latest update, maybe to add to the inconsistency of driver and FPS problems.

I have posted a lot of the problems with FPS drops or "jumps" prior update 1.77. I grew so tired of it I boot camped my Mac and it worked fine,

with the new update, i wanted to try to run on MacOSX again.

Before update 1.77 METAL wouldn't run at all it would crash instantly or only at max 5 FPS, so before the boot camp, i would run on OpenGL and on the Nvidia Web driver.

As of right now if I want the best performance, I need to run Metal with the default MacOS driver. This way i can get a stable 45 FPS on ULQ (I'm not even trying higher )
Strangely enough, when i launch the game, it tells me I'm running on an outdated driver. (how can that be? I'm on the most updated OS) This message applies my GeForce GT 650M but I force my Mac to use the Intel HD Graphics 4000 by disabling automatic video card selection and if I enable the Nvidia driver performance gets worse.

Still, i notice allot of quick ground texture and sky texture glitches. Just as Timmy2222 mentions there are also a lot of "jumps" they are not related to the FPS because it doesn't really suffer,

you can drive at empty land (like kusrk) with almost no trees and the screen shutters without the FPS going down. most city maps work fine, only Berlin is almost unplayable.

I just hope to add some data on this topic
My specs;

MacOS High Sierra  10.13.3
2,3 GHz Intel Core i7

4 GB

NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB

Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

yes, well said perviously. its a screen "shutter" that is constant in arcade tank battles. I noticed it less during test drive oddly. but the shuttering is constant for me on multiplayer regardless or the render or graphics quality used...please address, totally unusable for me!

Here is some more interesting info.  I have identical config as @Webhunter and have bootcamp as well.  Prior to 177 update I thought I had better performance on MAC side but wasn't aware of benchmark function to get actual numbers.    After update on MAC and had issues as described in prior posts I decided to update bootcamp side just for grins.  With old video card support & LIQ selected my benchmark results are 32,24 & don't recall score but think it was higher than the MAC side.  My MAC numbers were a little less than these but pretty much still unplayable.  So when I tried bootcamp side with choices described above it seems to play at same pace prior to upgrade which was acceptable.  So the same graphic card on MS side performs better than same card on MAC side.  Second, I was visiting kids this past week when update came.  They have 100 MB cable-Spectrum.  I still have 20 or 30 MB cable via TW.  So it appears that variable has no play on my performance.   I will try the Intel card and see how the MAC behaves with that.

Yeah, I tried again after a couple more weeks with various quality settings, still no better...so also not playing anymore...youd think they'd address this...

Well one thing is a lead pipe certainty I will not spend anymore money on something as faulty as this. The screen shot is from the only Dynamic Campaign mission that did not freeze. The game still looks graphic wise very appealing!
