v1.77 and -20fps and black blotches on ground

Someone thinks this issue will be fixed before Vulkan migration? Because I don't think so ...

Gaijin should leave the iOS developement, if Apple don't want implement newest OpenGL versions is their problem, the linux users should not be affected by Apple crap decisions.

Daily I see how devs increments 1.77.x.xxx versions but the issue is still there, I'm playing with xxxx graphics in comparison to Windows, just because I believe in Linux and I like to play in the same system where I work; we should't be oblied to pay W$ license, just pay for War Thunder premium account to contribute War Thunder developemnt, in fact I would do it if the devs would ensure me a fine developement for Linux.

Please, any dev or gaijin responsable who can clear us how's that fix for this issue is going?

They released the 1.77 update already knowing the issue. It is not exactly an isolated case. These are 100% reproducible problems in all linux installations with any card. They also said that it is an OpenGL limitation and they released the update without caring about it. They for sure will not fix it until a Vulkan version is released. Remember that we also waited years for a trivial but gamebreaking problem (held keys not working).

I already uninstalled the game and I will wait months until it is released. This is the main reason why I dont put money into warthunder: they will break your game at any point and will give a xxxx about it. They just want us so other players have more players to play with.

Is this an unfixable problem because of the old OpenGL 3.3 that WarThunder use to support MacOS ? or just a temporarily one.

I want some info from the dev team. Then I can wait quietly. They are completely ignoring the Linux community.

This is unfixable as long as they dont wont to fix it and it seems that they dont wont to do it.

If you want some info from the dev team then good luck. You can try making $#!^storm on this forum-either youll be ignored or your post will be deleted or even worse. You could even try making $#!^storm on warthunders reddit but all youll get from kiddos: use windows.

Folks, Gaijin has responsibility, especially with its brand, in addition, it is an online game that covers several users from several countries, besides, who wants to play and download the game, it (gaijin) offers the game also in Linux, then all this leads to believe that it is trying to solve the problems, and if it has not solved until now it is because it failed ...

Well... they might be working on it, like they worked in the held keys problem:

Reported in the end of 2015 and solved in mid 2017. We just have to wait some months/years.

My point is that I think we are just not important enough for Gajin, they demonstrated it in the past and therefore we should not expect this to be fixed anytime soon.  If this issue was minimally important for them, they would at least have somebody giving us any information in this thread.

lol... they said they were developing the engine for a year and now its like 8 weeks past the release date. They dont care thats the fact not that they failed.

Everyone, The Devs do care and are working on this issue, It's not a simple issue to fix but it is being worked on, We all just need to have a bit of patience with this.

Vulkan works under iOS now, some recent developments have made it possible.

If gaijin move to VulkanAPI soon then most if not all their multiplatform issues will go away, except for Xbox1 compatibility which don't technically allow Vulkan on that platform (its not supported by Microsoft I think).

Thank you @apemax, this kind of answers is which Linux players need to hear.

Check this workaround guys, It did work for me with this Nvidia beta driver on ArchLinux. You should enable lib32 building in PKGBUILD to get Steam working.

I can confirm that NVidia drivers 348.18 fixed the black patches problem on Linux Mint 18.3 (GTX980). I am not sure if performance problems are mitigated too, I will test more throughly and report.

Linux Mint users may proceed this way:

- Make sure your card is supported by the driver (see NVidia web site).

- Add ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa to the Software Sources and refresh the cache.

- In the "Drivers Manager" select 348.18 and let it update.

- Reboot when asked.

- Play and verify the result.

- Share your results here.

It should apply also to Ubuntu but I have not tested it.

I'm using Manjaro which is arch based, I had to change repository to unstable and update to nvidia drivers that way via the hardware tool that comes with Manjaro. Afterwards you can change back to stable repositories and the newer driver will remain installed just fine. I did it mainly for ROTTR release on Linux.

NOTE: Don't update everything once you move to any unstable repo, only what you need or you'll get into trouble pretty quick.

In debian and maybe others based on debian, you can break the system, if you do this

I updated to 396.18 beta driver, the hard way; and it took care of all the black splotches.

I'll get about 25 FPS in max settings or 55 in medium with gtx 1050ti @4k.

The super large foliage issue never occurred for me. I assume it depends on settings that are not active in ULQ and Minimal? If you have spare time, you could try to reproduce it on a test map and toggle features off until it looks normal. "Detailed foliage", 4K resolution, super sampling sound like top items on the checklist.

I think had to do with V-sync being turned on.

A couple things...

1.  It is not happaneing anymore

2  I disabled V-sync because it sucked

3.  Possibly a memory issue.  I was having memory issues that I fixed, although; much later.

4.  Also Memeroy issue exacerbated by video encoding happening simultaneously...

All in all It hasn't happened since  I disabled V-sync first because it sucked shortly after that, and that seemed to be the biggest problem.

That one was weird because upon entering binocs the whole thing was filled up in green.

Though I had a new bug today, while rendering video; after playing for a few hours...

These happened after aforementioned memory issue being fixed.

I could fly around it and through it and stuff.  It would disappear if I zoomed in when I was in it.

I have a bunch of screenshots of little bugs...5ae2a79f228a8_GabhilScilein2018-04-2522-

It says client log need be attached... For bug reportinng, so from this point forth; I need to do that.  Do I just run aces in the terminal?
