Possible additions to Italian Ground Forces

Is this a Dardo armed with a SIDAM? I want it. It looks the SPAAG the Helghast use in Killzone.

What about this delightful little fellow - is this a variant of a tankette or something? It looks like a tankette version of the M11/39.

The prototype of the Italian âassaultâ Ansaldo tank model 1936.

How about this? It's listed as a Ansaldo 10t/Carro di Roturra 10t (Vickers-Terni 37mm L/40) though it looks almost exactly like a stripped down M11/39.

This one is listed as a "Carro Commando" and looks like a 47/32 L40 without a roof, with a different gun mantlet, and a pintle mounted machine gun.

1) C13 armed w/ SIDAM 25 turrett or
2)that was named "Carro Cannone Mod. 36" litteraly "tank gun" was a prototype developed in the 1936 and could be considered the father of the L6 tank, but this, it was just a total failure, a trasnition between the old tankettes and real tank, therewas 2 tanks the Carro d'Assalto and the Carro Cannone, one whit a turret mounted 37mm gun the other w/ a hull mounted gun and mgs in a turret, later removed Risultati immagini per carro cannone mod 36

3)yeah another 30s prototype w/ thin armor, but as u can see its very different from the M11/39, like the suspension, they are much more similar to the L3 tanks than the M tanks, also this was the very first prototype, during trials but using a big inline  truck engine(waiting the real engine to be used) that give the rear a strange shape.

4) the last one is an experiment to use the almost usless L6/40 hulls (it was usless from the '43) to creare a veichle inspired to the bren carrier, for giving an APC which italy never developed and needed

The second and the third photos are M11 prototypes, the fourth is the tank that always followed the Semovente M41 90/53 with additional rounds.

The second one looks feasible as a separate tank to add. Odd that a munitions carrier would be armed with a cannon, though.

There are a lot of informaition about them:

I like this better than the M113 version, though I think the latter was actually used.

That would explain why it is labelled as "Carro Commando" I guess.

Ah, I see. The second one is not exactly needed by Italy as that tier is plentiful, but it could still be an interesting little addition - particularly the one you posted.

I hadn't considered that Italy had no APC vehicle. Very interesting. I guess this is as close as they got. It looks more versatile than the bren gun carrier although perhaps space was limited due to the gun. Was there only one produced?

I think the prototypes wouldn't be good in the game, because the real M11/39 is already only good enough to be a reserve, I think the prototypes would be to weak.

The only feasible prototypes are the L6 with 37/26 gun (should pen the exact same armour thickness of the normal 20 mm but with less rpm and higher range) and the up gunned prototypes.

The carro comando didn't have a cannon.

Does anyone think we might see a premium Italian Panther pack at any point? I'm just thinking this because Italy was supposed to receive (and produce) Panthers but never received them while Japan was supposed to receive a Tiger but never received it and yet in-game Japan has the Heavy Tank No.6. So a Tiger for Japan and a Panther for Italy? Just a thought for discussion.

The addition of the Heavy Tank No.6 is already controversial by itself, I wouldn't want it to happen again.

They could add the Panther with 90/53 gun to make it more interesting.

The first three pictures would make an effective SPAA, although I think we have enough at low tier.

The last picture is a Hungarian tank but I suppose if Italy is going to be the home (hopefully temporarily) of minor axis vehicles then it could be considered appropriate.

With them adding an Italian map and a admitting to putting Axis minors in the Italian tech tree, a new found hope can be witnessed in the Italian tech tree.

I will look over the posts and add what I can. Sorry for my absence, I was unaware that War Thunder had made it a requirement to be active in the game in order to post on the forms.

-Einheitsdiesel: Will add soon.

-AUTOBLINDA AB 40: Believe this was only equipped duel 8mm machine guns.

-AUTOBLINDA AB 42: Are we sure that this is a picture of an AB.42?

-SEMOVENTE DA 14/9: I believe this could only be fired stationary and with a crew tending to the weapon; which is why it is not on the list.

-AR76 TOW: Will add soon.

-B1 BIS: Will add soon.

-SOROZATVETO 43.M:Will add under a new branch.

Do you think it would be worthwhile to put non-Italian vehicles into a separate thread? After all, we shouldn't immediately start thinking that Gaijin will add lots of minor axis nation's vehicles suddenly and turning this into the Axis TT instead of the Italy Tech Tree.

I hope they don't go overboard because I'm not fond of the idea of the ITT being clogged with non-Italian vehicles - they really should consider a minor Axis tech tree for the future.
