Hello every WT players, I'm glad to introduce you my suggestion of the Swedish/Finnish Air Force Tech Tree.

In total it makes 47 airplanes. Because Sweden had relatively limited air force during WWII, I've decided to add some Finnish designed airplanes as well. From history - "Swedish volunteers served during Winter War on Finnish side; Sweden supported Finland by some of its airplanes, such as Gladiator Mk.I/II (Swedish designation "J 8" / "J 8A") and ASJA B 4A (licensed build Hawker Hart).

Just like current War Thunder nations, only machines from early 1930s to late 1950s are used. Unfortunately some historical machines from this period would be useless for this game because of their flying characteristics and aren't used in my tech tree (Because they weren't able to reach speed at least 300 km/h or had a weak bomb load). I also tried to avoid use so many licensed build airplanes for Finland (This is mainly Swedish tech tree), only Finnish originally designed machines are allowed.

I tried to make real functional and serious tech tree with real Swedish/Finnish build machines as possible, all of them competitiveness and fully playable in the game.

Please, respect this and try to avoid write suggestions for "useless" or "not Swedish/Finnish originally designed" machines. :salute:

What would Sweden mean for War Thunder? Check the points below:

- Sweden/Finland, together with France, is the last nation (despite realtively limited tech tree) from the world that could be added, because its home made machines are able to include I. - V. Tiers.

- Sweden had relatively strong home made ground units (see the attachment below) that are also able to include all Tiers.

- Sweden/Finland had its own home made Navy. I'm not sure how the naval battles in War Thunder will be, but Sweden/Finland is still able to include all future naval Tiers.

- Sweden is one of the few nations that could still use its home made machines (airplanes, tanks and ships) if the possible VI. Tier with supersonic jets will be added.

Sweden should be definitely as Axis power, despite it's historical neutrality, in the game. From history - "Swedish iron ore supplied Germany the whole WWII; despite Sweden had never entered NATO, Soviet Union was the biggest threat for Sweden during the whole Cold War).

In hidden spoilers below you can see my suggestion of Swedish/Finnish Air Tech Tree, brief specifications and pictures of every airplane from the tree.

In this attachment you can check possible Swedish Ground Forces Tech Tree made by PikPikker.

In my opinion Sweden would be really interesting and funny to play nation in all of the three parts - Air force, Ground units, Navy.

I hope you like it. Please leave your comments and suggestions for possible changes. ;)

Edit 1: Added some new versions of current airplanes.

Edit 2: Added some new airplanes, revised rockets and armament, deleted Sarvanto's Fokker (Fokker is Dutch originally designed airplane), edited topic's description.

Edit 3: Added VI. Tier with supersonic jets from early 1960s. Gaijin confirmed this tier for tanks only, but who knows...

Edit 4: Added AIM-9B Sidewinder short-range missiles for new VI. Tier jets and for current V. Tier jets.

Edit 5: Added new V. Tier jets.

Very Nice, especially with the graphics. However, you are missing a few B 17 versions.

He is missing around 30 planes.

Thank you for your feedback blockhaj. Your excel file is interesting, but I can't agree with you about many of those airplanes.

At the first, it consists of many foreign built machines. Gaijin will probably not allow airplanes just like Fokker D.XXI versions, B-239 or Vultee that are foreign built in independent Swedish tech tree. The only way how to get these machines there is used them as premiums. I also had to use some foreign built machines, but only on I. Tier and at the beginning of II. Tier, 1.3 - 2.7 BR. These BRs aren't so important, because most players play from 3.0 BR higher.

Some of your airplanes would be bad even on BR 1.0. That makes them useless and definitely pointeless for the game.

Norway and Denmark can't be used together with Swedish and Finnish machines, because these countries fought on Allies side. The same problem is with Estonian Aviotehas (my ANBO too) that aren't Swedish or Finnish built and it is impossible to use them.

You also used so many Finnish machines, when many of them are foreign built. Because this is Swedish tech tree, I used only a few Finnish designed airplanes.

You also used so many Finnish machines, when many of them are foreign built. Because this is Swedish tech tree, I used only a few Finnish designed airplanes.

The Fokker planes are all unique for Denmark and Finland, the Netherlands only used one variant and it differed in engine and armament to the Danish variants. The Finnish variants are built in Finland and differs greatly. The full air frame is different and the engine. There are 5 main variants of which only 1 was used in the Netherlands and all 5 where used in Finland. DXXI-1 was built for denmark but saw use in Finland, DXXI-2 was built for the Netherlands and was exported to Finland, DXXI-3 was built in Finland and had a lot of improvements and modifications done to the original design, DXXI-4 had a full makeover that classifies it as a totally new plane as it had almost everything redone, longer wings, longer fuselage, better cockpit etc and lastly the DXXI-5 which was a failed attempt to improve it more.

The Fokker CX was also built in Finland as the VL CX and had a radial engine compared to the in line engine of the dutch variant. It was produced in 2 series of which both had fuselage modifications such as a higher wings etc.

The Finnish buffalo's also differs greatly from the american variants, they are based on the early B-239 export variants which are a lot more maneuverable than for ex the ones we have ingame, they had extra armor added on as well and the late variant had 4x 12.7 mm LKK finnish machine guns installed. Finland also had the highest kill count with the Buffalo in the entire war. They where also put together by Saab in Sweden.

The Vultee V-49C was designed for the Swedish airforce and built for them. The prototype/test plane flew with Swedish roundels in the states and the Swedish variant would have differed from the american P-66 with its armament consisting of 4x 7.92 mm m/22F 500 rpg and 2x 13.2 mm m/39 250 rpg. Sweden also had plans to mod it with a better nose and nosecone for better speed.

EQ1JePW.png

And what planes in my tree would be useless on 1.0? The MF11 had a 20 mm gunpod which will be a fun derp and the VL kotka is very wanted among the Finnish plane community and would be an equalant to the Po-2.

And what do u mean Denmark and Norway fought on the allies side? Finland wasnt axis. They where attacked by the soviets and therefore got support from germany. Sweden sent several thousand volunteers to both Finland and Norway to fight, several thousand people from Denmark and Norway fled to Sweden including soldiers which got military there to one day return and fight the invaders.

And Estonia has always been a friend of Sweden and this tree would make the most sense for their machines to be in since they hate the soviet union.

Also on the point of a Swedish tree, Sweden dont have enough planes for its own tree.

If Finland and Sweden gets shared Tech Tree , i hope it gets some kinda crossed flags as the nation flag and Finland made quite many pre-WW2 and WW2 fighters and still making some turboprop aircraft that are capable of being armed with hardpoint weapons and Sweden would supply more of the WW2 bombers and post war jets .

Few premium aircraft could be specially from Finland and some other countries and from Sweden too , but Finland helped Axis in WW2 so they got some nice German planes that could few be premiums and Soviet aircraft + ground stuff after WW2 , specifically MiG-15UTI , MiG-21F-13 , MiG-21U , MiG-21UM , MiG-21bis Gaijin could pick one of these many jets for tier 5 premium .

The turboprop attacker i was talking about is Valmet L-90 TP Redigo , there are quite a few variants even before the 2000's , they unfortunately do not have defensive weapons or offensive , just hardpoints that could be outfitted with offensive weaponry and close air support loadout , these were used in trainings in the past .

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_military_aircraft_of_Finland#The_1990s   just ctrl+f and type "Finland" w/o quotes ofc .
