Whilst a premium vehicle will always be yours it only helps anything if and when you use it.

Premium helps everything but it also depends how much you play and what you wish to achieve.

If you are going to buy a premium at least wait for a discount or sale.

 

(Also, many of the cheaper vehicles are available at different times through warbonds, which are essentially free)

Order of importance/use: (1 being the most important, 10 being the least)

1.Premium Vehicle.

2.Premium time (You can easily swap these 2 around, depends how often you see yourself playing consistently, for playing less often, a vehicle is your best bet)

3.Crew experience.

4.Crew slot

5.Buy a vehicle module

6.Boost vehicle research

7.Buy Silver Lions

8.Cosmetics (decals, camos, etc.)

9. Buy boosters

10.Buy Boxes (I absolutely despise these random boxes, and the idea behind them)

Well... How shall we know? What is your goal in the game? What do you play?

 

I'd get premium at 50% next time.

 

But I would NOT buy crews for ground forces. Even for air, I would buy at most one per nation.

more crews allow you to put more vehicles of a certain close BR range into a preset.

Means you can add an SPAA / or in case of USA, a low-BR swimming vehicle ) to your preset, "at no costs".

So that you may decide what to use, in the combat situation ( of 3 respawns of an AB,GF game ).

Yes, as you as player are suggested to play more than 1 nation, of course first a complete set of ONE exta crew per nation,

if you expect Italia and France GF later too, add these 2 nations too.

 

If you play GF, then get a GF crew for each nation.

 

So a single extra crew for

Germany

Russia/USSR

USA

UK

Japan

(Italy)

(France)

 

costs you 1000 GL ( + 400 GL ).

The problem with extra crews is overlooked at the start: They dilute crew XP. As a tanker, I would stick to 3, with two variety crews (silver only) for AA or spawn camping revenge.

Yeah I'd agree with you. I have the five "free" crew slots for each nation, and it is more than adequate. GE should only be used on premium time and vehicles, and maybe crew experience. I have used GE to boost my repair skills in the past.

Careful when buying premium vehicles, the SL reward can be less than you expect.

 

Check out the Russian Hurricane. Last time I checked all other Russian planes at BR 3.0 earned more SL.

If you like tanks, force crew experience for low & med Germany / USSR - the best balanced vehicles at all (a lot of fun and satisfaction).

 

If you like navy gameplay wait for navy and force future navy skills (premium ship, crew expereince, ships grind).

Hope we will have some news about ships at Gamescom (september).

any premium plane or tank not tier 4 is waste of money. Better use 2 talismans on 2 tier4 vehicles.

First, congrats on buying this pack.   All three tanks in it are good, I have them and I continue to use them all with frequency because I like a 1-2-3 T-34 rack all at the same BR.   You will use them and I suggest you use them a lot while you have your premium account active in order to double dip.   Like some others have suggested, I think I'd save them for 75% discounts when they come up on the roulette wheel or in the end of the year sale.   I spend most of the year with sub 100 GE in my account, then I stock up for the sales.

As you pay SL for to get your crew from BASIC to EXPERT,

its the best at start,

when the items ( vehicles, airplanes) are cheap,

to put the items in presets, with limited range of BR.

 

Nothing is more awfull than to split a set of items with equal BR on several presets....

 

So that you must not rearrange the items later, what costs you SL money.

 

With GF:

Hey guys would it be smart to buy individual packs(T29 and P-51) on sale and get 3000 eagles extra, and then also buy 5000 extra eagles, and buy the M46, Panther II talisman, and the Ru-251. Of course, this would only happen in a perfect world...

$20 = T29 + 1000 Eagles

$15 = P-51+ 2000 Eagles

$12.5 = 5000 Eagles

 

1000+2000+5000

=8000 (Eagles)

1050 (Panther Talisman) + 3045 (T-34/100 or M46) + 3740 (Ru-251)

=7835 (Eagles)

50% sale

What I worry about currently is that Gaijin made lots money this year with IS-6 and Ru-251, meaning that Gaijin might just pass and not have any more sales this year...

Hey, its your money but I can not agree with recommendations about buying premium units, when at any given time your premiums can be uptiered, get a silent nerf, or get a match against a newer and better premium unit like the IS-6 tank.

 

I am certain a lot of players feel the same about it.

I am planning to get a measly amount of 500 GE. We all know that 500 GE is not enough to get all the 'cool' stuff like a tier III/ IV premium, however you can get many other minor things to make your War Thunder experience for the better or the worse. A list of things you can get for 500 GE is:

 

1. Any Camouflages (including non achievable ones)

2. Any decorations (from foliage, objects, roundels and animal skulls)

3. Any tier 1 starter premium planes and tanks (Germany, Russia, America, Britain, Japan and Italy)

4. Premium account (don't know how long)

5. Talisman for tanks and planes

6. Convertible Research points (more then 10 000 rp)

 

As you can see, there are many potential 'investments' with 500 GE. I personally plan on getting the Wirraway, but I am still not sure on what other stuff I should get instead. For example I am also torn between getting a talisman for the Pz IV G (because I use it a LOT). If anyone has good suggestions for smart 500 GE use, please explain.

A premium for 500 will get you three days, worth it in my opinion.

For countries with a lot of vehicles, Germany, USSR, USA, I agree.

For Japan and especially Italy no.

UK is a bit of tossup, Rank 4 seems good for extra slots.

Plenty of lower Rank premiums well worth the GE:

 

BV234: My most productive Premium in game.  Usually get lots of SL, win battles, lots of XP for crew (but RP is small for Rank 4 and 5)  Paid FULL price, not regret at all.

H8K3 is almost as good as BV234

PBY for Russia and UK is well worth investment (during discount week)

Ta154 is also worth the GE.

Bf 109 F-4 in US tree

Wellington in LW

P-47 in LW

P-39K-1 Airacobra in USSR

B-25J-30 Mitchell in USSR
P-63A-5 Kingcobra  in USSR

Everything written here, are for people with literally over 100 USD to spend on War Thunder (-_-). Any advice for people who can't actually afford 100 USD or any other related amount of money? Seriously not everyone here can afford that much. I for one can only afford like a max of 20 USD on War Thunder, because I have no disposable income or power over my money.
