How ships should be.

Well they officialy announced today 12/21/2016.

My ideias for vehicles + ships we will get boats they din't pronnounced yet some say they won't put larger ships but since this is a discussion thread i will give my thoughts in this topic.

 

Carriers : Some people say that aircraft carriers if added will have AI planes

My ideia will be : A combined mode , maybe world war mode to do it , but if the planes in the carrier are player controlled my ideia is people will spawn maybe in the air or the in carrier them they will take off , they could put a crew experience , from when a player plane lands in the carrier he will be repared like he broke half of his engine and like will take 40 second to repair the entire plane if you have aced crew in the carrier you could cut half of the repair time , plus they could add aa in the ship and crew experience to maximum accuracy and other things.

 

Battleships : Maybe the battleship could have a little ai controlled little plane that could be used to spot enemys and battleships will have a slow battle pace since they are huge and stuff and they could easily implement those ideias the real problem will be modules in ships well i think they shound't put crew since its useless and too much information needed for that they could put modules for the weapons turn time weapon barrel engine blocks be destroyed and other releastic modules ammo rack could be a thing if your cannons can penn it.

 

Destroyer : They should be little and fast ships to do some extreme damage in larger ships and do scout on carriers and other ships they could do some damage to the enemy ship or even stay near carriers to help them. against other ships.

The problem with capital ships that had plagued the implementation of them is not in roles or power scaling. The biggest problem is in pacing. Naval action was, compared to tank or aerial action, incredibly slow. A minor exchange of fire between two capital ships would usually last better part of the hour, and major battles could last over a day. Compare that to the pacing of oher game types.

The case is they could make small battles not like 16 players in each more like 6 8 players into a high tier match with the battleships but as well small vessels would be more easy but as they said in the war thunder launch trailer they will add much more into the game they will probaly look in the comunity how they think it should be paced but as well they could make simple models like ammo storage if a player hits it , the ammo could explode sinking the ship.

It will all depend if they do test and maybe they would launch bigger ships cbt that players would test.

1st, there are a ton of other more significant problems than that and 2nd, your ideas sound very much like WoWS, which i personqlly dont find quite interesting

i am still editing it.

What do you want them to do make destroyers battle ships they can't change what ships do WoWs is just doing what is in hystory gaijin is going to make a realistic one Close to reality.

I understand it, i ment that they cant take a similar approach to navy like wows, if we want a realistic game

I just really want to have ships not boats because we have Mbts and Jets when it comes to ground and air forces and with navy i i will be only in ships i really dont think so , i just think they are testing how it could work.

We will see this christmas.in 1.65 they added few bigger ships for GERMANY AND USSR, as well as a full detailed Cargo ship for US navy, meaning we are likely to test tier V battles and Cargo ship escort game mode this christmas

The advantage of bigger ships is lobbing shells that actually matter rather than endless two dimensional aa fights (except at sea), and having an actual human to use torpedoes against.

Designation of Boats and ships depends of Primerly, their weight, secondary their arment and tritary of ther usage.

 

PT-Patrolboat, for germans Schnellboat

then you have minelayers who can be assigned as destroyers

submerinehunters,sloops, corvettes frigates and so on

 

then we go to the Destroyers DD

these vessel usually range from 1000tonage to 4000 tonages, have an arment between 120mm and 150mm, usually be able to run over 35knts, about 100-120m long and 6-8m wide. Their secondary arment is usually a high amount of small caliber AAA, they also carry torpedos and or deathcharges.

Their usuel mission are Anti submarine operations, patrol operation and escort operations.

 

Cruisers CL,CA

there are 2 types of cruiser, light and heavy, these both terms are mostly reflecting the arment, since cruisers have still not much amor.

Light cruisers have between 120mm-150mm mainarment in full amored turret with 2-3 guns per turret, their tonage ranges from 5000-10000 tons, heavy can range up to 17000tons, also heavy cruisers are armed with 203mm cannons, and can have 120mm, CL and CA are most likley carring torpedos. Their length can varry from 120mm-203mm, and their beam vary from 10-17m their draught can be rather deep, up to 9m

 

CL and CAs missions are usualy, bombardment off enemies on coast, covering a beach. Hunting down other cruisers or destroyers, escort operation.

 

Battlecruiser BC

A battlecruiser combines speed with good firingpower on highrange and high speed, on a vessel from 20 000-35000 tons, their caliber can be from 280mm-360mm on double or triplegun turret, they usualy have the firepower of a battleship but lack amor, still having a highspeed up to 36knt, the secondary arment is up to 150mm, their aa arment are usually diffrent calibers of all ranges, from120mm to the 7.7mm single mount anti air mg, they usually lead attacks if  the battleships would be to expensiv to loose.

 

Their main mission is to counter CAs, they are also used as heavy attilery during assaults on beaches, they are also used as an escort vessel for carriers.

 

Battleships BB

The biggest badasses of the 7 seas, they have highcaliber main atilery from 280mm-460mm, they are heavily amored and suprisingly fast , their tonage varis between 35k-75k

their secondary arment can be up to 150mm, with similer aaa like the BC. The objective of a BB is to destroy other BBs BCs and CAs, they are usually the flagships in a fleet doing bombardments on beaches and inland but not the most effective ship in ww2, impressive yes, but with a range from just 40km a joke, compared to the

 

 

Carrier CV,CVE

 

The diffrent between a CV and CVE is its size and the range of its fuel tanks a CVE is an Escort Carrier with about 20-30 planes on board, a CV could end up with 80 planes on board Their size vary between a CA and can even exceed the size of a full fleged Battleship, however they are usually not amored, or minimal amored, they can be simply converted of cargoships or newbuilt military vessels, but they all have one thing in common, the range of their arment exceed often 300km, and that is its greatest power, planes with bombs attached to them can destroy every ship above without the mothershop being in line of sight of any guns. They are the reason why Battleships were extingt.

SS-Submarine

submergin vessel, that can shoot torpedos, missions are attacking and disturb merchant, dont get sunk

It may look good on paper, but...

1. Gameplay? Not a little bit too op, especially if were gona gett bigger ships? How can spotting system be implemented for them? 

2. Im pretty sure that WT engin is overall not capable of having submarines due to few design reasons. 

3. Would need overall  drastically redesigned game mechanics in order to have realistic gameplay.

4. Though it would still be very nice as a secondary AI objective of the mission
