Update 14.06.2016 (Server Update)


This is a server update that will be implemented on the game servers within 24 hours. During this time, bug reports regarding specifics mentioned here and their effect in a battle will not be considered as a bug and as such will not be taken into consideration.

Economy and development

  • Hs-123 - Type of aircraft has been changed from fighter to attacker.
  • Wyvern S4 - The order and visual placement for the modifications within the research window has been changed.

Damage model

  • Kinetic damage for 12.7 and 13mm ammo has been fixed, “practice ball” and tracer rounds have had their damage increased and now is closer to Ap and AP-I rounds’ damage, whilst retaining the differences in penetration values and ballistics.
  • Kinetic damage for 12.7х81 and 13х64 rounds has been increased.
  • Lower turret armour thickness of the IS-3 changed from 130mm to 200mm.

Changes in Flight Models

  • Fw-190 D9, D12, D13 - Fuel tank use priority has been introduced. Rear tank will be used first followed by the front mounted fuel tank.
  • Do-335 A0, A1, B2 - Change as the Fw-109 D9 series. Wing tanks will be used first followed by the (A0) fuselage tank then the main fuel tank. Feathering of the propellers has been added, this allows flight with a single engine with the documented speed. Combat flap position has been disabled.
  • Hs-123 A1 - Bug with small negative overload has been fixed. Wing box durability with negative overloads has been increased.
  • I-185 М82, М71 - Fuel tank use priority has been introduced. The rear tank will be accessed first, followed by the centre tank.
  • BB-1, Su-2 MV-5, TSS-1, М82 - Flight model has been updated. All parameters adjusted according to documentation. Weight, fuel, polars of all elements, durability (allowable overload) and centreing have been specified. Thermodynamics and priority of fuel tank usage (wing tanks first) have been updated.
  • Ki-61 (all modifications) - a bug that could cause stalling in some cases in AB has been fixed. Maximum dive speed has been increased to 770 km/h (IAS).
  • Ki-83 - fuel tank usage priority has been added. 1 - outer wing tanks, 2 - wing-root tanks 3 - rear fuselage tank 4 - central fuselage tank.
  • He-162, Arado-234c-3, Mig-9/9p, Me-262c-2b - Overheating on high temperature maps has been fixed.
  • Yak-15/17, Yak-30D - aircraft stability whilst flying at high speed and using mouse-aim has been improved.
  • La-5 - aircraft info card has been updated. Now all values shown reflect the aircraft’s performance in game.

Five locations have been activated in “Enduring confrontation” game mode: Bulge, Korsun, Kursk, Stalingrad winter and Zhengzhou.

Note: This server update applies to all platforms unless specifically highlighted.


The current provided patchnotes reflect the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates and fixes may be not listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving all the time and certain fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.

When can we expect ability to unlock skins in EC? with all the new snowy and sandy (sure Sicily is not desert but it's closer to desert color scheme) maps some planes would really need those and for some of us going to AB or RB to unlock skins is not really an option. Some planes can be used in mixed SB but not all of them and this is also kind of strange workaround.

I do not get when what is the problem with making it possible in normal EC.

so its now even harder to get on target which is allready hard in the Do 335! 

 

could you guys at least make it a little easier to get the guns on target? 

 

its even difficult to sometimes get on target on a bomber.

Some thing not mentioned.

 

RNG bounce chance for all shells that use the APBC bounce profile profile (APC,APBC,APCBC with or without HE) got further reduced for shells above 2.5 T/D

 

Now at a T/D of 2.5

 

0% bounce chance at 23° (aka 67°) and 10% at 21°

before

0% at 30° and 10% at 25°

 

for T/D 3.0

 

0% bounce chance  20° and 10% at 19°

before

0% at 25° and 10% at 20°

When you will give access to use custom maps in custom battles to normal players? I can't wait to play in the tank on plane maps with other people!  :lol:

The feature is still in testing, and there are still issues with high ping and packet loss in online user missions. However, you can currently drive tanks around the AB Norway map in my "Cliff Diving!" mission, which you can find in the custom battles menu  ;)s

I'll add similar missions for other locations in a few weeks. However, player-created locations do not work at the moment.

I'd guess at least a few months before the full release of the feature (but that is a random guess).  :salute:

I know this is not considered a bug. My question is - can we expect this to change?

I see what you are trying to do here and I can understand why you do that. However, by having all of these forces with their complete tech trees in there at the same time seems like a bad implementation of the Chinese's mixed army and I am not sure if this will be a good approach. You might just as well include Germany too (making it Germany/USA/UK/USSR vs Japan), as the chinese did use some german planes and some german armored vehicles too in the war and I think they even had some Italian designs in use.

 

My point is: Please divide Zhengzhou into USSR vs Japan Zhengzhou and UK/USA vs. Japan Zhengzhou. It's a much better approach in terms of fairplay and balance.

Having all three parties in at the same time seems a bit too much imo. As long as it's based on BR, divided Zhengzhous are better.

Throwing all three in there (and maybe even germany) seems much much better for "historical EC" events.

 

It's actually a lot of fun! At least on the lower tiers. Very interesting!

Please tell me they are buffing the M3 on the CL13 and japan sabre those are 12.7 correct?  :facepalm:

there is difference between 12.7 and 50cal - diameter is the same but names are used like that to distinguish between those rounds. I'd say 12.7 refers to Berezin but let's waif for GJ to clarify
