Talk with devs about eSports

Hello everyone!

As a person in charge of eSports, I would like to talk to you once in 2 weeks about things that are related to this matter in the Team Speak.

The topics that will be discussed on these meetings:

1. Future tournaments

2. Plans and ideas for Squadron Battles

3. Everything about player tournaments and how to make them work

4. Any other proposals about future eSports events

What will not be discussed:

1. Future patches/development of vehicles

2. Battle ratings/Damage models and how to fix them

3. Returning everything to how it was in patch 1.34/1.41 and so on...

If you are interested, I will be happy to talk to you in the official Gaijin TS (address: ts.gaijin.net, pass: Spitfire) this Sunday, June 5th at 19:00 GMT.

Also, feel free to ask me questions in this topic, I will do my best to answer them.

-When are fair balance mechanics going to be enforced in eSport arenas?

For example. If one control system enforces flat spins, (Realistic Controls joystick/gamepad/mouse-joy), so should all other modes (mouse-aim) on a Realistic rules arena. Otherwise, that control system that does not fall in line of balance should not be allowed as it is the unique rule breaker compared to the other three control systems that do follow the Realistic arena rules.

Nice of you zerbah... I must say that you was allways community friendly and this is good topic for everyone.

I dont have much time right now but will be posting here as soon as I can. Probably the most contraversal issue was and still is:

3. Everything about player tournaments and how to make them work

I hope that we will find out some modul that is fair for everyone and that there will be no complaints about tournaments.

I will try and make sure there is someone there to represent _TYT_ (probably myself) I'm posting here in the hopes that I won't forget. We are obviously very keen to hear how things are likely to develop, as well as offering some of our own, hopefully sensible, suggestions and concerns.

It's basically a great idea but I guess it will end up like the last discussion we had 6 months ago about the future of squadron battles.

Many people coming late, starting recording, asking already answered stuff ...

I would recommend to create a channel, invite the people that show up in time and then change the password of the channel. It's just not funny when every 3 secs a different person is joining and start to disturb the talk.

Maybe a short summary for the people who couldn't take part is also kinda useful.

Although last time that we talked in the TS was kind of a mess, back in October, I still think it was good as the means to communicate with players who are interested in competitive gameplay.

Ofc the intention is great but the result of the meeting was... nothing. By nothing i mean nothing. I hope this will be different from now on.

Zerbah, I strongly suggest turning the recording option OFF during those meetings. Last time it was a trolling nightmare. I remember that during some Q&As in the past, recording was switched off, but 2-3 people were making an "official" recording and it was later posted for download.

Another thing is. I know that a few Russian squadrons were making a list of problems/suggestions for AB squadron battles - has it been passed to you already?

The thing is, even if we say that recording is not allowed, there are other way to record the conversation bypassing the TS...

As for the list of problems/suggestions for AB squadron battles, I haven't seen it yet, but I will ask them to show it to me.

The fact that somebody is recording is not a problem in itself. But the constant messages "User started recording" - "User stopped recording" -"User started recording" - "User stopped recording" -"User started recording" - "User stopped recording" -"User started recording" - "User stopped recording" - really get on everybody's nerves. And last time I saw people switching it ON/OFF constantly, just to troll. Yes, you can switch notifications off, but most people don't do that either because they don't want to do that (like myself) or simply don't know how to do it.

If somebody wants to record the meeting, no problem about that, they can still do it using outside software (even windows voice recorder should work), but please, stop them from interrupting the discussion every 2 seconds.

  • 3 weeks later...

Official Gaijin TS is down for good (Gaijin uses Discord now), so we will need to use an alternative TS.

I can suggest using the TS of THINK (address: team-think.pro) or we can meet in another TS (of your choosing).

Meeting can be on Saturday, July 16th or Sunday, July 17th at 19:00 GMT.

Good to hear from you zerbah. :)

Any teamspeak server is going to work just fine, as long as we are welcome there.

But if Gaijin is switching to Discord, aren't they going to set up an official server using it? I've only installed Discord a few weeks ago, and haven't really used it, but it seems to work just the same, and you can use it through a browser, so even people who don't have it installed can join, all they have to do is register an account afaik.

On a side note - any news about (AB) Squadron Battles? :DD

  • 1 month later...

I need a list of the times for Realistic squadron battles please, EU, AND US. cannot find it any were, asked Smin, he said to contact you.

Us times have changed from 01.00hrs to 02.00hrs. London GMT.

EU times in the week start at 16.00hrs, but sometimes start at 17.00hrs. And on weekends the start times are at 17.00hrs. London GMT.

ALL VERY CONFUSING. We need a proper list of the start and finish times please.

London is not GMT during summer, it is GMT+1... Anyways, I am going to publish the times later today with Central European, London, New York and Los Angeles times so you have a clear picture.
