O-I: Japan's Super Heavy Tank

It'd be a good heavy tank for mid to late in the tree.

Which version 100 ton, 120 ton, or the 150 ton? Or just the 120 ton rumored prototype version was built in 1943'. I would say late tier 3 to early 4. With 200 mm frontal armor and 105 mm main gun with 2 47mm secondary cannons.

I'd say the 120 or 150T versions. With it being so large the extra armour would be greatly wanted, but all three would be my first choice to help fill out the heavy part of the tree.

That's kind of hard since the info of the tanks has been lost to time. I personal stick with the 120 ton version since there's more data/info on it's performance.

The info on the tank hasnt been lost, from what I understand there was only a 150t tank built from the OI series. This one had 150mm front and rear armour as well as on all sides of its turrets, while having 70mm of spaced armour on the sides. Its main gun was a Type 96 150mm howitzer, while its two secondary front turrets where equipped with Type 1 47mm guns and the rear turret had a pair of mgs. Its total pen was also around 150mm with some HEAT shells.

Here's something interesting from the most recent Q&A with the dev's: http://warthunder.com/en/news/4680-development-answers-from-developers-en

"Are there plans for a Ground Forces Japanese tier IV premium?"

"Answer: Yes, there are such plans."

I have a few ideas as to what it could be, however I wouldn't want it to be the O-I. The O-I deserves to be in the regular tree, not as a premium.

You won't be hiding that eye sore anywhere. But I suppose I did make the Chi-ri work even though it has folded origami paper for armor and is the size of a two story building.

it could be one of the ST-A´s or something else. I just hope they dont dare to put the O I into premium at T3 or 4

I thought the theory was that production vehicles went into the regular tree and experimental/theoretical went into premium.

And why not? Why a single half built prototype has to be researchable in the main tree?
It should be premium and only premium.

For the most part yes, but there are a few exceptions such as the T-35, Ram II, and the Brummbar. Although more prototypes/theoretical are in the main trees these days.

1. Not really "half built", rather near fully built and tested with half the weight reduced.

2. Its a key vehicle to connect a heavy line.

3. Who's to say only one version will be added (if any) to the tree? Both premium and standard could suffice.

Also, have you seen the pictures of the Type 4 and Type 5 superheavy tank turrets? Can you find any information on these monsters?
