Update 19.10.2015 (Server Update)

 Share

This is a server update that will be implemented on the game servers within 24 hours. During this time, bug reports regarding specifics mentioned here and their effect in a battle will not be considered as a bug and as such will not be taken into consideration.

Changes in the operation of modification “new boosters” in jets for the following aircraft:

  • MiG-15, Canberra B.2, Canberra B.6, B-57A, Il-28 - Modification “new boosters” has been removed. These aircraft use conventional control rods and cables not hydraulic actuators for the operation of control surfaces.
  • MiG-15bis, MiG-15bis (GER), La-15, La-174, F9F-2, F9F-5, F-84B, Venom FB4, P-80A, F-80C, F2H-2 - modification “new boosters” affects the speed of roll control only as hydraulic actuators in these aircraft were installed in the aileron mechanism.
  • In the the F-86 series, the effect of the modification "new boosters" improves handling for roll and pitch - hydraulic actuators were installed only on the ailerons and elevators.
  • The research points and game currency spent on research of removed modules will be compensated.

Note: This server update applies to all platforms unless specifically highlighted.

The current provided patchnotes reflect the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates and fixes may be not listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving all the time and certain fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.

Is it me or there is something wrong with this sentence's grammar?

Hmmmm. On the venom's new boosters in game it says it affects the elevators and the rudder as well as the ailerons. So does it actually affect all control surfaces or is it just a UI glitch?

For info, as this is too much techy for some, even our cm's

To boost something, you need a mechanism that can be boosted, rods and cables cant realistically be boosted, however , Hydraulic actuaors, (levers) can be boosted as the fluid that is used to move the hydraulics is pumped to the component, so, better pumps means better actions.

So, for example, in the example above - the Mig 15bis, it has hydraulic actuators in the ailerons (wing controls) and therefore can be "boosted". However the rudder and elevators (tail controls) have rods or cables which cannot be boosted.

Sorry Disconnect - 0 out of 10 for techy understanding. 8)

The old booster didnt take into account difference in layout (or mix of hydraulic and mechanical levers)

No it is correct,

Engine boosters? Whut?

Ignore him, he isnt an Engineer. 8)

Dun worry im confuse too. OMG. LOL .

the old booster which affected all components in the control surfaces has been removed and now only the aileron controls can be boosted (see above)
