Gladiator Battles: 4x4 Blitz Tournament

Dear friends, pilots of War Thunder! We invite you to take part in the blitz-tournaments 4x4 which will take place on September 18th, 19th and 20th in the Realistic Battles and September 25th, 26th and 27th in the Simulator Battles.

 

Blitz-Tournament “Gladiator Battles: 4х4”

 

Statute.

  • Blitz-tournaments will be in RB/SB game mode, air battles 4x4.

  • Format of the blitz-tournaments is Olympic system with full double elimination with a bracket set for 16 teams.

  • Prizes:

          1st place - 4х1000 golden eagles

          2nd place - 4х800 golden eagles

          3rd place - 4х500 golden eagles

          1st-4th place - decal for participating in Gladiators tournament

  • Blitz-tournament RB

           Registration opens on September 18th at 4:00 PM GMT (18:00 CET).

           Matches start September 18th-20th at 6:00 PM GMT (20:00 CET)

  • Blitz-tournament SB

           Registration opens on September 25th at 4:00 PM GMT (18:00 CET).

           Matches start September 25th-27th at 6:00 PM GMT (20:00 CET)

 

1. Regulations.

1) All the matches are played in the time frame of three days.

 

2) Server for all the matches by default is EU. Based on the agreement between teams, the server can be changed to RU/US. In case of dispute, the Chief Arbiter will designate the game server.

 

3) Player nickname in War Thunder should correspond to the nickname in TeamSpeak and nickname in the registration form.

 

4) Players need to use TeamSpeak 3 software for voice and chat.

 

5) Players who participate in the match have to connect to the official TeamSpeak server not later than 10 minutes before the start of the blitz-tournament and wait for the instructions of the Chief Arbiter.

1.2  Registration requirements.

1) Self Registration is done on the BATLLEFY web site by the link that will be published on the forum.

 

2) Registration for the tournament opens automatically 60 minutes before the start of the tournament and it is closed before the tournament starts.  In order to register for the tournament, the team captain needs to register on the BATTLEFY website.  In the registration form, the captain has to enter the name of the Squadron/Team and nicknames of the 4 players that will participate.

2. RULES.

2.1 Tournament represent a set of matches between different teams. Each match is played until 3 wins in rounds (best of three rounds). Players participate in match using the aircraft of the same type.

 

2.2 Each match has a set of missions (rounds) in the Custom Battles mode. Four pilots from each team (that have been registered) participate in every round.

 

  • Difficulty:  Realistic Battles / Simulator Battles

  • Time: Noon

  • Weather: Clear

  • Time Limit: 15 min

  • Fuel/Ammo: Limited F/A

  • Respawns: No respawns

2.3 Missions for the match (rounds)

  1. Mission for the 1st round:  [Duel] Eastern Europe

  2. Mission for the 2nd round:  [Duel] Top of the World

  3. Mission for the 3rd round:  [Duel] Finland

  4. Mission for the 4th round: [Duel] Rice Terraces

  5. Mission for the 5th round:  [Duel] Eastern Europe

 

2.4 Tournament aircraft set.

  • Attention! Only one aircraft is selected for each match. The aircraft of the match is selected through draw where each team captain removes an aircraft from the list until one remains. Captain of team_1 (see Rules Point 2.6) is the first to remove aircraft, than captain of team_2 removes another aircraft from the list and so on, until there is only one aircraft left.

 

2.5 Victory.

1) Victory in a round is determined by the mission and a message from the server. Each round is played until all enemies are destroyed or the zone is capped and points run out.

2) In case that, by the message of the server, both teams lose the round, the match score is not changed and the round is restarted.

3) For winning the round, team receives 1 point.

4) Victory in a match is achieved by winning at least 3 rounds.

5) If one of the players of a team uses the wrong vehicle type, victory in a round is given to their opponents!

6) Victory in a tournament is achieved by winning the matches according to the tournament bracket.

 

2.6  After the draw and according to the tournament bracket, opponents in match are to select the following sides for the whole match:

  • Team, that is above in the bracket - team_1 (Allies/Star);

  • Team, that is below in the bracket - team_2 (Axis/Cross).

2.7 Teams organize the matches by themselves, creator of the lobby by default is the representative of team_1, but can be changed if both teams agree on it. Result of the match is considered valid if the match was played by the rules and both team captains confirm it. Chief Arbiter can assign an arbiter for the match. All disputes are handled by the Chief Arbiter in the presence of both team captains.

 

2.8  Four players from each team, arbiters and streamers are allowed to enter the match lobby. Arbiters and streamers need to be in the “Referee” mode during the battles. Spectators can be allowed to enter the lobby by the decision of the arbiter of the match or if both teams agree. All the spectators cannot use the Referee mode and have to use the Spectator mode in game. Team players who do not participate in current battle need to select the correct side (of their team) and are not allowed to use the “Referee” mode. They can use the “Spectator” mode when the battle starts. In case of disconnecting or technical problems (high ping, packet loss) for one of the players, the battle continues. If both teams agree, the battle can be stopped and restarted.

 

2.9  Standard match procedures (the order of the match):

  • Teams enter the TS channel of Gladiators Tournament;

  • Chief Arbiter designates the TS channel that the teams will use for their match;

  • Captain of team_1 or an arbiter creates the lobby of the match in Custom Battles according to the table of settings for the mission;

  • Captain of team_1 or an arbiter gives the password and invites the captain of team_2 to the lobby in the Custom Battles;

  • Captains of the teams draw the aircraft in TS or in lobby chat (by the rules point 2.4 and 2.5);

  • Mission starts when both teams are ready. Match cannot be delayed by the lack of players or technical difficulties of separate players. Under extraordinary circumstances, teams can delay the match for up to 10 minutes;

  • Captain of team_1 or an arbiter writes the following commands before each battle:

  1. Attention! Ready up!

  2. Ready (confirmation of readiness by the captain of team_2)

  3. start

  • Battle is started without commands in the chat, immediately after loading the mission;

  • After battle is over, captain of team_1 writes the result in the lobby chat;

  • After match is finished, captain of the winner team reports match score to the Chief Arbiter.

 

Attention! All the disciplinary rules of Gladiator tournaments are applied to the matches of the blitz-tournaments.

I know its not entirely your fault Zerbah but how can they expect anybody to take their competetive play seriously when they aren't giving more than a days notice?

I mean, you apologized so you clearly get it. What's wrong with the people working above you?

Announcing the tournaments only a day before they start is wrong, I agree. But, there is a lot of things going on right now in the eSports department that influence these decisions. Even I do not have all the info.

 

For instance, I know that a special tournament event was planned for last weekend and this weekend also, but we couldn't start it because of some problems that we cannot overcome by ourselves and this really destroys our plans.

 

In the end it was decided to do blitz-tournaments which I believe is better than doing nothing...
