Date: July, 1945

Time: 1130 hours

Weather: Hazy

MISSION:

Bombers from the 20th Air Force XXI Command are heading to targets on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu

47th Fighter Squadron has met up with the bomber stream on approach to Kita-Kyushu relieving the previous escort group. So far no resistance has been encountered, however, the Japanese defense squadron may be prepearing for a strike against the bomber formation.

Protect the heavies and escort them from the combat zone.

OBJECTIVE:

-Escort the B-29 over Kyushu to and from the target

-Mission goals are accomplished when you reach the designated position off the coast on Kyushu.

Information

So this mission is a sort of Japanese Guardian Angel event. It's based on a mission called "P-51 D Protect the Superforts" from IL-2 Sturmovik 1946. The mission itself is much like the Guardian angel event with the Americans having 15 AI B-29's to cover. Considering this is 1945 here are the planes I think would be fair for this event.

Americans:

B-29 (player controlled too)

P-51D-5

P-51D-10

P-51D-20 NA

P-47D-25

P-47D-28

(possibly some naval planes too but Its not exactly historical to have them on bomber escort for B29's)

Japanese:

Ki-45 Hei

Ki-102 Otsu

A6M5

A6M5 Otsu

A6M5 Ko

N1K2-J

N1K2-Ja

J2M3

J2M5

J2M4 Kai

J2M5 (Premium)

Ki-84 ko

Ki-84 otsu

Ki-84 Hei

Ki-96 (Premium)

Notes:

In the mission in IL-2 Sturmovik the japanese are flying Ki-45 (unspecified variant) & Ki 100's. Also the map itself can be see on the picture below :)

-Regards!

Yes, this is a great idea, though I'd add the Ki-84 Ko too, as it was probably the most common variant.

Same goes to the N1K2 Ja. It's the same plane as the N1K2 J, just with extra possible pylons. You should not exclude it.

Looking at the Ki-45 line, the TEI model should be available too, since this would be the first SB / RB event then, that makes the Schräge Musik really usefull (if you actually survive the .50 cal spam of the bombers)

The premium Ki-96 shouldn't be missing either.

Remove the P-47M as the entire production run only operated in Europe and add P-38J/L

I wouldn't be too happy about that.. I've tried it in custom battle :( The Ki-102's 57mm sparks like 4/5 rounds

Great idea. Why not add Shusui?

Ki 200? Because in an even like this it would be a bit too OP :P Same reason they didn't add the Me 163 to the Guardian Angel event

The Ki-45 tei should be added as the whole point of it equipping the oblique cannons was for bomber interception
