the ultimate challenge would be the swordfish.  it is nearly impossible to use in any meaningful way.  put in in T1 and the torpedo is literally useless(no targets). fly it in T2 and you will never reach the target.

i only managed to get all the upgrades by flying it only on 4x rp days.

the only reason to have it is if there is a ships event where you cripple the bismark and watch the dreadnaught finish it a day later.

I might research it and buy if I have to, but I am not going to fly that thing...In RL, England was throwing everything they had into the fight, which included the Swordfish which was outdated when it was put into production...The hit that jammed jammed the Bismark's rudder was blind luck, just like the shot that destroyed the Hood...I imagine that it is in game because of that incident and it was a national hero at that time...

Yeah its a sad state of affairs with the Swordfish. IRL it could also carry 8 rockets or 1500lbs of bombs - I guess if those were added they'd have to tier it up ;)

Btw I started making these videos to help people get the most out of planes which I commonly see flown poorly, not to challenge myself with a series of impossible & punishing tasks for the purpose of public entertainment. It could well be headed that way, just depends how much pain I want to go through. Having just flown several hours of He112 V5, right now I've well & truly had my fill and will need to spend some time seal clubbing in a ludicrously OP FOTM plane to make up for it.

Edit: Received a request for the F4F-4, which is not the seal clubber it once was now its facing tougher competition in tier 2, so I've added it to the poll.

there arent that many underused or underestimated fighters left.  its only the ones with 4x7mm guns at tier2 (hien, mig3, bf109e1) that are skipped mainly because they dont do enough damage fast enough. the upper tier1 planes with BR2.0 are skipped because you get matched with t2 so everyone just jumps to their t2 planes as soon as possible. maybe not as fast as in 1.37 since you arent punished for the 1 tier difference when it comes to vehRP.

since the wildcats are t2 now, the only underappreciated t1 left would be the F2A-3.  the only quad .50cal in the USA early lineup now.

if you reviewed attackers/divebombers, i would nominate the D3A1. it is in the middle of the spectrum of t1 ground attackers:

crap: Swordfish

less crap: Kingfisher, F1M2

middling: D3A1

passable: JU87 stuka B

overpowered: BB/SU2

when it comes to grinding mass ground kills for xp/lions/achievements, t1 light vehicle maps are the place to be.  the D3A is nimble enough to avoid the biplanes and lawnmow at the same time. you can even dogfight a little with it unlike the stuka.

F2A-3 you say? I've added it to the poll :) I'll keep going with fighters while there's planes left on the list, but those are great suggestions for an attacker series though I'd also add SBD and TBF. So many people seem to fly those planes poorly. Oh and btw there's no reason why the "neglected" fighters have to be tier 1 - I've got several tier 2 on the poll and am open to tier 3 suggestions.

Edit: If I did cover the Swordfish, Kingfisher and F1M2 I'd probably create a single video for all three. Edited by long5hot

Hey Bud, other games I have played I have had friends to chat with to start learning it better but not this one and I think I enjoy this more than any other. Are there groups that I may be able to join that could help me get a better understanding of which way I should go to improve?

There's plenty of squadrons around, many of which welcome new players. LGND, who I was briefly a part of, are a great group of guys & I can highly recommend getting in touch with them, plus in the Academy forum the 116th squadron have posted this thread which you may have seen already: http://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/127203-want-training-the-116th-is-holding-open-training-sessions/

Alternately there's also this: http://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/105673-looking-for-squad-ab-contact-list/ Edited by long5hot

You're forgetting the Jericho siren...  :Ds

sorry i cant hear you, i've spent the last 7 minutes getting my ears raped by my stuka while i was mowing. lol

it is only passable because the max load is 1x250kg + 4x50kg = 5 bombs.  meanwhile the bb/su2 gets 12x50kg =12 bombs and better machine guns.  you can single handedly win those T1 reserve maps(stalingrad, berlin suburbs, albion) in under 2 minutes with those soviet planes.

Fair enough. But have a squad of 4 Stukas with muted speakers/headphones. Hehehe...  :Ps

Another excellent vid, however I am still going to leave my 112's on holiday...I do like the shallow diving method...I've been using that with my Bf 110, since it can build up a good head of steam, and I can alternate between air and ground targets as I fly my circle of destruction...Cheers of a Klown, when there's no one around...!!!

Nice Smokey Robinson reference :good:

It was certainly an instructive experience for me flying it, and I'm glad I did. In fact the process of making these vids is really making me analyse tactics in a way I would never have otherwise, so its helping me improve as a pilot and I believe/hope the vid would be useful to rookies as well - but yes the 112 V5 is definitely on the shelf for me. If I'm playing Germany @ 1.3BR I'd much rather fly the CR42, the fun level's much higher ;)

If its allowed by gaijin, I'd allow you to use my warthunder account to do reviews, Just as long as you don't make me 100% broke, Provided that is allowed by gaijin.

There's plenty enough on my list, I don't need to add higher tier aircraft that I've never flown before.  Thanks all the same though :)

Edit: and now that I've finished the skin, I guess this one's next - http://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/117664-skins-showcase/page-25#entry2549506

Ha!, got that one quickly...Somebody else figured out my name...After watching your vids, I went back to the F2A-3 and used your BnZ techniques...It is very effective to do that with the -3 Buffalo...Engine pulls really well and you gain a lot of altitude and the 4 .50 are really effective against the planes you ambush...Very much fun to fly this chubby little plane now...Brewster_F2A-3_g16055.jpg

The F2A is an absolute monster - as s00n as someone mentioned it I whacked it straight onto the poll as I want to video a fun plane for a change ;)

Voted for the Hien, as it basically is a japanese folgore, so would help both planes out.

Yep, looks like Hien will be next after the Rufe. Its pretty much exactly a 202 except its more maneuverable, same terrible weapons though.

Decent reviews mate, well done. But unfortunately, i'm old enough to remember 70's porno music and all i can say is...."thanks for the memories"!   :good:

or in this case it's more like...."thanks for the mammarys"!
